Forum:A proposal to save The Uncyclopedia Store.
What I'm Suggesesting is a system to make sure everyone gets a cut, Like the Uncyclomedia Foundation. This pot will fund the Poo Lit Suprise and More, And I'm suggesting that the store be tightly with the beta version of Uncyclopedia:Store. The cart displaying the actual items and the cart page displaying the actuall items. This will work, And the pot can be integrated in donations and fundrasiers. --NXWave 03:44, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
PROBLEM
Yea, the ever-present issue. Who manages the money? Most of us probably trust most of the rest of us, but there's always the few that don't trust anybody. I propose we gag those few, fit them with new cement shoes, and give them a free scuba lesson. Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 04:08, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- Most admins have been here since 2005 and if someone cannot be trusted then we IP ban them and disable their login info, and if that doesn't help. They get permabanned from Uncyclopedia. Perhaps we should make Admins fill out a questionare. --NXWave 04:51, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- Holy crap. I am never voting you into adminship. Infinibans galore. Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 04:56, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- I was thinking more along the lines of truth serum and polygraph tests. But the gagging thing sounds kinky. For. --EMC [TALK] 22:40, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

No
Trash the current store, keep the idea. Set it up for no profit. $0 is made off the store. Any donations for PLS are made separately. No way for improper use of funds, then. If profit has to be made, it goes directly into a sysop-watched separate PayPal/whatever account for PLS, etc purposes only. Just my $0.02. EugeneKay wuz here (whine thank) 05:04, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- Second EugeneKay's plan. If it can be avoided, we should stay non-profit, IMHO. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon (Tick Tock) (Contribs) 05:09, Nov 13
- But wouldn't it be easier to set it to base price instead of starting over?, And who here is responsible with the duties of the Sysop-Watched Paypal Account? (aka The Uncyclomedia Fund) --NXWave 07:45, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- Then set it to base price, and openly claim to be making zero profit right there in the store. </problem> right then and there. Just make sure you have all the appropriate permissions from Wikia, image creators, and you're good to go. Just don't make money off of it. - Take down the store. Take down the store. Take down the store. Then we'll talk. --Whhhy?Whut?How? *Back from the dead* 10:20, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

- We're out of milk. We're out of milk. We're out of milk. (Also, what Sbu & Spang said, but without the repetition. There's a fine line between something and cliche. I wouldn't want to cross it...you know, poor taste and whatnot) Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 22:48, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- So what your saying is that you guys are denying the idea of an Uncyclomedia Fund. --NXWave 04:16, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- And another alternative we could try, How about a system that pays trusted Uncyclopedia Admins a fair ammount without any taking involved, All automated. --NXWave 04:22, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- No, what we're saying is get it all set up, with permissions from all involved, before you open the doors. We, and again I speak for all of us, aren't against the idea of a store, we're against the way it's been done thus far. Close it, ask, fix it, then maybe reopen it (and the produce better be fresh, dagnabit. This lettuce is all wilty). Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 05:08, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Proposal Up on Wikia
I posted our proposal for the store on Wikia, This includes terms on why there should be an Uncyclopedia Store and fair terms that Wikia would agree too. --NXWave 07:30, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- And yet again you've jumped the gun. Have you not read anything that anybody has posted so far? There hasn't even been community consensus for this idea, let alone any of the methods that you outline in this proposal. I also object to the use of the term "we" throughout; again, you are not representing an Uncyclopedian majority here. Also, the methods of fund allocation you describe are not appropriate for a non-profit organisation. Many people keep saying that they are in favour of UnMerchandise, provided it's done correctly; why can you just not wait a few days to see what input the members of the community have? At the moment, the clearest consensus I can see (especially from the admins) is "take it down, and let's discuss it from the very beginning". If you persist in ignoring that, you're going to lose any support you might have had very quickly. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 08:17, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- True. I'm already feeling a growing need to ban you and erase all traces of your store from the site. --Whhhy?Whut?How? *Back from the dead* 08:22, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
All of the conduct presentd in this issue just strengthens my objection to the whole issue. Especially the whole WE want it presented in your message to Wikia. ~ 09:29, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, normally the way things work around here is: we discuss and discuss, come to agreement after a while, then everybody forgets about it until someone new brings up the subject a few months later. Perhaps someday we'll find a balance between this and NXWave's pro-activity. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 14:57, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
To Make it Clear
“ | Take down the current store in every way, shape, and form. Ask for the community consensus on putting up a store. Maybe put one up if the answer is yes. Do not jump the gun. Take down the current store. Get permissions before you set it up. Perhaps even leave it to somebody else to do, as you haven't done it right yet. --The Community |

Links
The may not be relevant, but I think there should be links to the real thing. Before it was reverted, I went there, and now my mom knows what I want for Christmas. -- Kippy the Elf Talk Works ☃ 10:20, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- A Sophie Thong? They don't have them in Olipro yet. EugeneKay wuz here (whine thank)
- That's the point of the reversion. Accourding to the Admins, It's done wrong and needs community input and proper licensing to make it work. I'm hoping for an internal solution. --NXWave 10:33, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Furreal Friends?
I didn't even know an student Uncyclopedia Store existed until I looked at the bottom page a few days ago. It was pretty obivous the whole thing was a joke, and I think it should remain that way(Although I would like to buy some of the stuff on there). Maybe we could do something simaler to it...Or was it meant to be an actual store in the first place? I'm not sure about this whole thing... --Narf, the Wonder Puppy/I support Global Warming and I'm 100% proud of it! 13:53, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Originally, Curisoty struck and here we are. And most of the descriptions are still a joke, Buy It Now Buttons do not actually buy you the item. --NXWave 23:07, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- If you want non-monetary stores there are many on the site and off it for Uncyc. UnCyc is Enzo's store. Unsoc has its own store on its site with the Grue Army, both of which have Uncyclopedia-based stores as well. ~
