What does the 'Maxim kills rebecca' refer to?

An old movie called Rebecca. It's good. AngryParsley 10:53, 7 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Isn't the book titled "To serve man"? And isn't the joke that it's actually a slave's biography but it's used in comedic cannibal scenes?IQ 10:21, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

What's the "end spoilers" template? Barcode711 16:34, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Damnit! Someone got the X-Men 3 spoilers before me! --Kalir, Novice Burninator (offer instruction) 03:50, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Westing game spoiler[edit source]

Its Berthe, not bertha crow.

Length[edit source]

To whoever keeps filling this template up with any spoilers they can think of: The template looks very bad when it takes up a huge amount of space on the page. This template is just a warning about spoilers, you may find the spoilers article is what you're looking for. That can be as long as you like. Spang talk 02:20, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Option?![edit source]

The <option>s make no sense. There's a random section for every spoiler. However, for some reason, each section only has ONE OPTION. How inane. I think I'll fix it. Flameviper12 17:13, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

DON'T. You misunderstand the options. For each one, it chooses between the spoiler and nothing. In effect, it's just choosing wheher to show each one or not based on the weighting. This is because as far as I know, <choose> tags only ever choose one option out of the options, so if you want more than one option to show, you need multiple <choose> tags. Spang talk 20:51, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Um, I hate to say it, but I don't think it's working. I'm getting all the options every single refresh. Could it be because I'm using a mac? --Lenoxus
That shouldn't make a difference, the parsing is done before the software even knows what kind of machine you have. I added a missing </choose>, did that help? --Splaka 22:48, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Seems to be working properly for me. Spang talk 00:31, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
OK, 'sworkin' now. Grácias, Spang. --Lenoxus 23:32, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Much shorter![edit source]

I think this is a lot better when it only shows a few things. Therefore, I set it so that each thing (except the first and last) has a 10% chance of showing up. I also got rid of a few of them that I didn't think were very good (for example, Romeo and Juliet starts out by saying that they kill themselves so that's not a spoiler). I think it's much better the way it is now. If you disagree, then you SUCK, but I guess you could revert all of my hard, painstaking work if you really want to.—Sir Mandaliet CUN PS VFH GN (talk) 10:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, before it was weighted so the better ones came up more often than the ones that suck. Now they're all the same. It is better shorter though. Spang talk 22:20, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Soylent Green is people??!![edit source]

And this is in the template, WHY?! --Micoolio101 12:18, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Micoolio101

It is in all randoms --Sir General Minister G5 FIYC UPotM [Y] #21 F@H KUN
Actually, the soylent green one is the only one not in a random tag, so always comes up. A bit like the Dumbledore one, though that switches who killed who around. Spang talk 15:15, 11 Nov 2006

Soylent Green is obscure... replace it with something more identifiable. Canada-kawaii 14:15, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

It's not so obscure... and "S.G. is people!" is one of the great lines of cinematic history. I'd say keep it. LLBean

Soilent Green is people is one of the most known spoilers out there, up with snape kills dumbledore and darth vader is lukes father.

StarCraft[edit source]

GodDAMMIT! WTF is your problem, Uncyclopedia?! I CAN NO LONGER PLAY STARCRAFT WITH THE SAME SENSE OF EXCITEMENT THANKS TO YOUR SPOILER TEMPLATE!!!! What business do you have ruining StarCraft with your anti-funny spolier message?! --HubHikari 03:33, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Did you not think, as you were reading through the big list of spoilers on the template, that you might read one that gives away an ending that you wish it hadn't? If you did, you shouldn't be surprised. If you didn't, you should have! Spang talk 06:24, 1 Dec 2006
That's just it. I WASN'T reading it. I was on the Uplink page (which doesn't contain spoilers anyway, so it shouldn't even HAVE the template). My eye happened to fall on that PARTICULAR spoiler I didn't know, sandwiched in between the others that I already knew about. Which ends up ruining a completely awesome game for me. Anyway, I find the whole spoiler message just plain stupid. --HubHikari 13:34, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

DUDE!!! if you don't want to ruin something, avoid reading anything with spoilers in it. It isn't anyone else's fault that you ruined a game for yourself. Little idiot 2 08:19, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Additional options[edit source]

  • Since I *don't* know exactly what I'm doing and how this template works, I thought I'd add a few options for someone else to consider adding:
  1. Everyone but Horatio dies, and Fortinbras takes over
  2. Kristin Shepard shot J.R.
  3. Darth Vader is Luke's father
  4. Sisko defeats Dukat and joins the Prophets
  5. Colonel Blake's plane crashes with no survivors
  6. King Arthur dies and is whisked off to Avalon
  7. King Arthur and his knights are arrested on murder charges
  8. Richard Hatch wins
  9. The tyrannosaur attacks the raptors, letting Grant and the others get away
  10. E.T. goes home
  11. Seinfield and his friends are found guilty
  12. Chewie gets killed by a falling moon
  13. Earth is the computer designed to calculate the Ultimate Question

66.27.233.203 11:47, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Added! Spang talk 22:50, 1 Dec 2006
  1. Lennie kills Curley's wife so George kills Lennie (Of Mice and Men)
  2. They don't find the Holy Grail (Monty Python and the Holy Grail)
  3. The computer game was actually the Third Invasion (Ender's Game)
  4. Stepping on a butterfly changes the future so that the warmonger gets elected (A Sound of Thunder)
  5. Orr and Yossarian escape from the army in a rubber raft (Catch-22)
  6. Antonio gets let off and Shylock is forced to convert to Christianity (The Merchant of Venice)
  7. Ben elopes with Mrs. Robinson's daughter during her wedding (The Graduate)
  8. Henry testifies against his best friend and goes into the Witness Protection Program (Goodfellas)
  9. Lefty never arrives because he's dead (Waiting for Lefty)
  10. Deckard is a replicant himself (Blade Runner)
  11. Tasso is Variety II and Klaus is Variety IV (The Second Variety)

I threw in ones for Gone With the Wind, The Producers, Goodfellas, Blade Runner, Of Mice and Men, and also (I can't belive everyone ignored Oscar Wilde!) The Importance of Being Earnest and The Picture of Dorian Grey.

How about these?

  1. Dyna Blade destroyed the crops to feed her chicks (Kirby Super Star)
  2. Marx tricked the Sun, Moon, and Kirby to gain power (also Kirby Super Star)
  3. Vaati was used as a scapegoat by Ganon (Four Swords Adventures, I think)
  4. Bob tries to kill the Author and destroy the universe. He almost succeeds with the latter, but is stopped by who seems to be the Shadowy Author, but turns out to be George in disguise. In the end, it turns out that all the events in the comic was part of a plot to toughen up George so that he would kill Bob if the need arised (Bob and George)
  5. King Dedede broke the Star Rod to keep Nightmare from escaping (Kirby's Adventure)
  6. The events of Super Mario Land was a plot made by Wario in order to take over Mario's castle (Super Mario Land 2)

Couple more suggestions[edit source]

Similar deal- don't want to clog it up, but if anyone reckons these deserve it too...

  • Daisy runs over Myrtle, leading Wilson to kill Gatsby and then himself,
  • Edmund, Goneril, Regan, Lear, Cordelia and Gloucester all die in the last scene,
  • Dr. Strangelove can actually walk (oh, and everybody dies),
  • Heathcliff finally dies, and Catherine and Hareton get married,
  • Prufrock isn't Prince Hamlet,
  • Odysseus eventually gets back to Ithica,

A Few Spoliers More[edit source]

I've got a few suggestions for you guys.

  • Piggy and Simon both die and the Lord of the Flies is in us all.
  • Our World is behind The Gate
  • Samus is a woman
  • The Dark Tower leads into an infinite time loop.
  • Uncle Ben dies because Peter didn't stop the thug.
  • Milton burns down the office building when he gets his stapler taken away
  • The Planet of the Apes is really Earth (Just in case that hasn't been done)
  • Romeo and Juliet both die as well as Julius Caesar and Macbeth.
  • Aslan is Narnia's Jesus

--Ganall 02:49, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

I wonder where all of those are from. Anyway:

  • We already have the Romeo and Juliet one.
  • Try to keep articles in the list down to one topic.
  • "Samus is a woman" doesn't sound like much of a spoiler; nobody cares anyway. :(
  • Yes, the Planet of the Apes one has been done.
  • "Aslan is Narnia's Jesus" isn't a spoiler, it's a comparison done by fans and plot summaries.

Well, I think I can get the rest of them in for you. But do me a favor and list where they all come from next to the spoilers. Just for my enjoyment. ^_^ Conniving 21:40, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

The first one is from the famous book, The Lord of the Flies, by William Golding. Simon and Piggy are both killed and through Simon we learn that the "Beast" or the "Lord of the Flies" is the primal and cruel instict in all of us.

The second is from the anime Full Metal Alchemist and is probably the biggest spoiler of the series. The Gate is actually a rift to our world and the Full Metal World, the interior of The Gate is actually where all our souls reside after death and our souls are used as alchemy fuel in the Full Metal World.

The 4th one is from Stephen King's Dark Tower book series. I never read them myself but I learned that when the main protagonist finishes his long journey and makes it to the Dark Tower he discovers that he is doomed to forever to repeat his quest because of an infinte time loop.

The 5th one is from the Spider-Man series in which after Peter Parker gains his spider powers he selfishly doesn't stop a thief when he easily could have. He finds out later that the same thug killed his beloved Uncle Ben and he belives it was all his fault and from then vows to become a superhero.

The last one is from the cult comedy movie Office Space. In the movie the nerdy loser Milton is obssessed with his red stapler which leads to the movie's most memorable line "I believe you have my stapler". Towards the end of the movie the boss of the office building takes away his coveted stapler causing him to go postal and burn down the office building, saving the asses of the main protagonist and his friends who were trying steal money from the company.

Hope that helps you out.--Ganall 02:31, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

That does. I can put that Fullmetal spoiler with the "Sloth" one. Conniving 23:34, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Are you Serious? "samus is a woman" not a spoiler? you realize we're talking about a spoiler that repeatedly makes top 10/top 5 most shocking moments/bigest plot twists, in all of video games.

Getting long; new proposition[edit source]

I suggest making the chances of there being a blank space be 80%, and that blank be complimented with two spoiler options instead of one. That way, there's a 20% chance that one of the two will appear, but only that one can show up. If we couple two spoilers relating to the same thing like that, and manage to give every two spoilers their own slot, then no more than 50% of all the spoilers will ever appear onscreen at one time (assuming the amount of spoilers we have is an even number.)

Example:

<choose><option weight=80>*option does not show*</option>
 <option weight=10>Topic=Pokemon</option><option weight=10>Topic=Pokemon (again)</option>
 </choose>

Get it? :) I'll play around with that if no one minds. O.O Conniving 22:09, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, sounds like a good idea. Though I'm thinking that I'll lock it down sometime anyway, and directing people to the spoiler article instead. I mean, how many spoilers does it really need to get the joke across? The grouping of similar ones is a good idea, though someone who regularly checks the newly added spoilers may have to occasionally re-arrange them. Spang talk 01:37, 30 Dec 2006

Then we wait until we can get two spoilers for the same thing. Only when a spoiler has a buddy should it go up. Come on, it's not THAT hard. I already started. ^_^ Conniving 05:53, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I liked it better[edit source]

What's this from?[edit source]

Where does "the whole show was a dream in an autistic kid's head" come from?

A few suggestions[edit source]

  • Mr. Game & Watch is the final unlockable character
  • Shadow was made from Black Doom's DNA
  • Mephies kills Sonic, but he gets revived

Blah Blah Blah 05:30, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

About those...

  • About Mr. Game & Watch being unlockable, few know who he really is. It's not spoiling plot either.
  • I put the Shadow one up. I'm sure of it.
  • If Sonic dies and comes back, big deal. The guy dies all the time, and comes back with his extra lives. :o Just saying he dies and that's it would be more of a shocker. Conniving 03:07, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

More Suggestions[edit source]

  • "The Princess is in another castle"

As in from Super Mario Bros. This was there before all this new formating. I thought it was one of the best ones. I don't know why it's been taken off.

  • "Little Orphan Ani is really Darth Vader"

Ani, as in Anakin Skywalker.

  • "Beatrice is the Baudelair's Mom"

I.E., A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Separation[edit source]

Might it be a good idea to separate some of these with semicolons instead of commas so that the template doesn't look like one really long run-on sentence? (e.g. Snape kills Dumbledore; Sephiroth kills Aeris; and Soylent Green is people)--WillyFourEyes 20:11, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

--[citations needed] 03:20, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

I do have some suggestions.[edit source]

  • "CATS is still alive" (Zero Wing)
  • "John Rambo, coaxed by his mentor Col. Trautman, turns himself in" (First Blood motion picture)
  • "Asuna Kagurazaka was a member of the Crimson Wing in the war against the Great Demon King 20 years ago" (Negima! manga)
  • "Ranma and Akane put their wedding off after Happosai crashes their latest attempt to tie the knot" (Ranma ½)
  • "Juni Cortez and the other gamers survive the lava in Level 4 because they were able to swim in it" (Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over)
  • "Ataru manages to keep Lum on Earth by winning a game of tag" (Urusei Yatsura) --Ryanasaurus0077 23:45, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Spoilers that are missing[edit source]

  • "Leonard set himself up to kill Teddy" (Memento)

  • "Yueh is the traitor." (Dune)

A couple more[edit source]

  • Holden Caulfield had a mental breakdown (Catcher in the Rye)

  • Beowulf dies. 'Nuff said.
  • Poirot ends his life by murdering someone else (Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot series)

  • Maria's bird is a Hamachou (Skies of Arcadia)
  • Frog is actually a person who was cursed by Magus (Chrono Trigger)
  • Lavos' true form is a small glowing ball (Chrono Trigger)
