What in the Hell is Happy Monkey?
Happy Monkey is a competition some guy thought up. Everyone throws an article topic into the pot, it gets shaken up vigorously by drugged out big busted models and the topics are re-distributed. You will have 48 hours to complete the article. Then the judges will score you on originality, creativity and humour. Originality almost always wins.
Then the winner and judges get called mean, hurtful names, the rest of us wax poetic about how we were robbed, and balance is returned to the force for one more cycle. Also...bananas. Tons of bananas from poor Nicaraguan feudal farms.

Two of my friends have graciously agreed to help judge. One is Belgian the other is Spanish...both completely fluent in English. Don't forget to thank them at the end of the competition.

Reasons why everyone thinks Shabidoo is awesome
- I thought it was an axiom, that didn't have to be proven. Something we accepted as a pillar supporting Uncyclopedia, no? Anton (talk) 22:25, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Babble before the competition
It looks as though there is activity here, and since Shabidoo hasn't done this already I'm casting the first stone in the hope Shabidoo will get on board. So, how about a Happy Monkey Competition in the near future? I realise it won't result in Frosty being de-opped but it might return something useful. ~EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(dtf?) 20:10, 9 July 2015 (UTC) :Last year's was incredibly excellent (and I'm not just saying that because I won...but I did win. Did you hear? It was pretty great). We should definitely have another. -RAHB 20:23, 9 July 2015 (UTC) ::Strong Fucking For -- The Zombiebaron 04:20, 10 July 2015 (UTC) :::I was planning on doing a happy monkey in the beginning of August. I hope you guys can hold off until the beginning of august and I'll happily organise it! ShabiDOO 02:08, 12 July 2015 (UTC) ::::Yes please! I like being told what to do ;) ~EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(dtf?) 11:08, 14 July 2015 (UTC) Okay...so we will wait until August? If so...then the site notice should not say the tournament is on now but that they can sign up. --ShabiDOO 01:19, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- I think there is a conflict of interest if someone is both a writer and a judge. -- The Zombiebaron 19:23, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Depends if they are judging their own work or just other writers. This would complicate the judging process though. -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 19:28, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Historically all judges judge all entries in a Happy Monkey. -- The Zombiebaron 19:48, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Well, we write our own history. Anton (talk) 21:51, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Can you explain to me how it is possible to have the judges judge their own articles? Or if the judges recuse themselves from judging their own articles, won't articles written by non-judges have a higher score? I'm down to try something new but this seems rather silly. -- The Zombiebaron 22:34, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, it does seem silly. What I have in mind is that every competitor should judge others' articles (which was the idea behind several of Shab's competitions). Like this, we won't have to search for outsiders. What do you think? Anton (talk) 22:40, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- That's quite a good idea. Every writer judging every other writer's entry shouldn't be very hard to organize, we could do judging the day after writing. -- The Zombiebaron 22:46, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, I think that will work. Should the judges section be removed then? Anton (talk) 22:48, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- I think we should wait for some other people's opinions before we set this sort of judging set up in stone. There could be a wonderful solution we haven't thought of. -- The Zombiebaron 22:54, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
- Generally speaking I'm pretty sure we've frowned on this in the past because of the idea that a judge can give another writer a lower score than they would have if they know they're going to get a higher ranking themself if they do that. Strategic scoring is the thing I'd be concerned about with this. But also, meh. It's a one day writing competition that is really more about creating some cool articles than it is about who gets the highest scores, and it's not like we have cash prizes for this one. So I guess it's okay. It does cut down on the total number of participants we need to make it work, so that's definitely a big benefit. -RAHB 04:25, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- I suppose we could all judge the articles secretly and send them in to the same e-mail that takes the suggestions at the beginning. ~EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(dtf?) 17:50, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- But all the participants would still judge others' articles, right? Anton (talk) 17:53, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, all but their own. ~EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(dtf?) 17:55, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

For Americans that means it will actually start at 6pm or earlier on July 31st...because Americans are always trailing the rest of the world stuck in the past...always shocked to find out that the rest of the world has already lived their day and accomplished so much. Canadians and Mexicans too. Australians...on the other hand...really have their shit together.
