Bad Advice

Could you please bring back the Bad Advice page . . .one of the funniest things ive read in ages – Preceding unsigned comment added by Augustus (talk • contribs)

Err, the bad advice page was deleted 27 September 2005. —Braydie 00:08, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

theres no way u can bring it back then?? . thats rediculous!– Preceding unsigned comment added by Augustus (talk • contribs)

Well, there is. I also found out the content wasn't from our site. The link is here. I think that's what you are after anyway.. —Braydie 01:47, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

ho wrote it

no man it was something that was done on this . i know the guy who wrote it just undelete it read it and tell me it doesnt deserve to be up here – Preceding unsigned comment added by Augustus (talk • contribs)

I err, don't actually know what you are looking for. That's the only thing that is on the Bad Advice page... —Braydie 01:55, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

this was the link [1] it was created today not sep 27 05 it was an uncyclopedia entry on this i dunno how to get to the delete logs but it was in there – Preceding unsigned comment added by Augustus (talk • contribs)

Aha! I see what I've done. Basically I thought you meant Bad Advice not Bad advice (case sensitive titles). Right User:Arsechips made this page. Where do you want to restore the page to? —Braydie 02:05, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

FOUND IT - 19:09, 16 February 2007 Braydie huffed "Bad advice" (2.3 ICU / NRV expired - If you want this back, request on my talk page.) sry my bad .......emm dunno where it was originally – Preceding unsigned comment added by Augustus (talk • contribs)

Ok, I'll restore it to your userspace so that you can work on it there. I'll leave a message on your talk page to say where it is. Oh and make sure you sign your comments on talk pages with ~~~~. Thanks. —Braydie 02:11, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Excuse

I would like to ask for an additional week to complete this article under construction. I am going on holiday this week and will not have internet access to complete it. That's the excuse. :) Please, do not huff it after a week and please leave the template on for a week more so that I can complete it. I have a fairly good idea what I want to do with it, and would appreciate a chance to do it. Thank you. --The Rover 01:17, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

I'll move it to your userspace as sometimes other people take care of WIPs. —Braydie 01:25, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. --The Rover 01:30, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Np. —Braydie 01:55, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Dammit!

You happened to be looking!

Wait, how stupid can I get? You'd have been alerted even if you were away for a month... I think... anyway, see my comment in the recent history if you haven't. And it's cool if you want Upside Down to remain as it is — just a quick reason why is needed, and I'll take away my stupid Scrutiny thing.—Lenoxus 01:58, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, I was writing a comment back to you and it was something like "Yeah, it does make sense for it to be how you think it should be, I'll get to work on it either now, or in the morning." Again, no worries. —Braydie 02:08, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Sweet. 2 addtional notes: (1) it appears I never put Template:Scrutiny there in the first place, never mind; and (2) mostly by way of apology for confusion, I say you are cool (I don't do barnstars). —Lenoxus 02:15, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Great :) - I'm glad you enjoyed that article. I'll have it done first thing in the morning. —Braydie 02:16, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Ok, it's all done now. —Braydie 14:27, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

n00b baby care

Hehe, that was no problem. Thanks for the Nail Bat. —Braydie 13:21, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Let me know what you think about my dialogue contribs for your Moses article. They're in the discussion portion of the article. --AmericanBastard 21:56, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Cool, nice. I'll have a look in a sec. —Braydie 21:57, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Right, they're good. If you could somehow work the Mel Gibson one (playing god in the musical) into the Bible Musical bit. As well as the G-Man one near the end about the commandments would also be good. I would do it but I don't want to take the credit. I don't think the other two would fit in with the article. Thanks :) —Braydie 22:09, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm afraid i'm not familiar with the Mel Gibson allusion. You get the Charlton Heston, Snake-stick (biblical), and Brooks inter-references of course though right? Don't worry about it, just say that I helped supplement the dialogue portions or something; that's enough. --AmericanBastard 1:56, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I'll add them in a bit. —Braydie 14:22, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Nooo!! The 401k part was the punchline! --AmericanBastard 06:05, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, sorry, I guess we're just now on the same wavelength :/. —Braydie 06:46, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Mr. Braydie,

Hey, just saying, the petty fight isn't my fault. Just block user: Big Boss 0 and this will be over. --Ockenbock 19:20, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Right, he's blocked anyway. But I don't want to see you adding to the problem by editing his userpage. —Braydie 19:22, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

RE:Pee

Damn, you're fast! Is there a "patrol recent changes for the word bored" button I don't know about? In any case, I'm only bored because I can't find anything to do besides preparing for the exam as I should : (. I'll put your pee on my radar, though. --Medvedev (scream)Grue_Jammy.gif 17:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Hehe, my omnipresence on this wiki is known across the lands. :) Peeing is good every once in a while. —Braydie 17:12, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
I see. Well then, your efforts must be rewarded.
Just so you know, I didn't dismiss your suggestion: I paid a visit to the project page and even found a potential candidate. That is, if Zork 2 counts as an article : ). --Medvedev (scream)Grue_Jammy.gif 17:33, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, Zork 2 hasn't had a review yet. I guess people just want someone else to rate it. That would be good :) (I also converted the picture into a ninjastar template, thanks :)) —Braydie 18:49, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

LORD FLUFFY

Sorry about that, Braydie. Forgot that there was a Pee Review. Not surprising- I have been known to forget my own name. --Lord Fluffy who rains fire from the heavens 19:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

No probs. —Braydie 20:59, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

When I make my templates and upload the image(s), the image is put into a grey outline with a little double box thingy, which says "enlarge" when I move my mouse over it. How do I get rid of this? --Lord Fluffy who rains fire from the heavens 21:09, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, have you got an example of it doing this? So that I can see it? —Braydie 21:11, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes. This is the one that prompted me to ask. Ummm...would you mind reviewing my article "Adamantium" in the Pee Review as well? --Lord Fluffy who rains fire from the heavens 22:00, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I fixed it. When you don't want that frame to show up don't put "thumb" in the code. So intead of [[Image:Imagename.jpg|thumb|left]] just put this [[Image:Imagename.jpg|left]]. I'll have a look at the article and post some pointers on the page. —Braydie 22:05, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
I've done your pee review thing as well (I haven't used the table as I just gave you a few pointers) —Braydie 22:30, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much. The Tom Cruise thing was intended to link it to the article on Wolverine (as it was when I read it)- I suppose that this was an error. Oh, well. I do like a few of the old jokes- the grue thing served to connect it to a mention of unobtainium I saw in the "Turquoise" article, and to the "Grue" article; I think my intention was for it to fit in with the established articles. Now that I think about it in the light of your suggestions, I see that Uncyclopedia is intended to be almost entirely unconnected and incoherent. I'll get to work on it. Soon, I hope. --Lord Fluffy who rains fire from the heavens 23:10, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome. —Braydie 23:11, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Hehe, no problem. Now it's a huge confused mess with choose tags and everything! —Braydie 17:25, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Anna Nicole

Of course, whatever you think is best - my only question is, is there a way to have all the headlines appear on the first page? Meaning, if one were to click on the link, is it possible to have a sub-menu with all the 11 or whatever articles available for choosing? As you say, it's seeing all the different names that's the joke...--Super90 17:53, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, you could do that. But I don't think people would approve of them all being on the headlines part of the page.
All you need to do if you want them to all show up in one place is make the article a navigation to the others, then recreate the others in the sub pages of the article, for example UnNews:Revealed:"I’m Anna Nicole’s Baby’s Daddy"/pebble.
But in my personal opinion won't make the article any better than it is now. But it's up to you. —Braydie 18:00, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Braydie, I have to be honest, code is my kryptonite. I wouldn't know how to go about making a sub-page like the one I just described. However, as it stands, by clicking on the link only one of the articles appears and that's not the joke at all. Can you help me fix it?--Super90 18:08, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Right, ok. I'll sort it. —Braydie 18:09, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, I appreciate it. I keep meaning to go and study that Wikipedia page that teaches how to do code, but, well, that seems like actual work.--Super90 18:16, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Ok it's done now. Make sure you go through them and improve them a bit though. Oh, and do not add the UnNews template to the pages otherwise it will force it to come up on the UnNews main page. —Braydie 18:45, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
That looks perfect, thanks again.--Super90 18:46, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello

i don't remember you... well i do sort of. how long have you been admin? ONX 17:49, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Around a month now. I was opped at the same time as Zombiebaron and Flyingfeline. —Braydie 17:51, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

i've been gone for too long. what year is it? where am i? what is this new wiki engine! confused! angry! smash! ARGHHHHH HULK SMASH in other words. i have been gone for too long, and i dont understand the new wiki changes. ONX 17:56, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

2007, my talk page and what wiki engine? hehe. What do you want to know, I should know the answer ;) - You probably know more than me anyway. —Braydie 17:57, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

hmm.. so you do realise i have been around for a couple of years. but yes, the wiki has been updated. the recentchanges is different, and there are new codes. i don't get it. is there a way to insert an SWF into a page yet? whoops! no timestamp. ONX 17:59, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I figured that you'd been here for ages by looking at your talk page. You should be able to get rid of the new recent changes by going to preferences -> Recent changes -> then uncheck the Enhanced recent changes (JavaScript) box. Hmm, I don't really know much about the SWF question. You'd probably have to ask someone more intelligent. :) —Braydie 18:04, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

lol. i don't recognize spang. i remember splaka, and flammable. and another one. i don't remember much. ONX 18:07, 21 February 2007 (UTC) addition: DELETE SHOGUN WARS ARTICLE. and what happened to whatsitcalled... the baleeted template? with the homestar

Hmm, Template:Baleeted was huffed because it was a useless template (apparently). Most one liners like Shogun Wars are reported to QuickVFD. The VFD template is used for old articles that are rubbish and NRV has been replaced by Template:ICU. Splaka stopped contributing full time a while back (before I got here) but pops in every now and again. Flammable has been around, but not so much. —Braydie 18:17, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

School got very busy suddenly. Thanks for moving User:Ansible/The Fellowship of the Bling. I'm still kind of a noob; is this the way I should be working on projects over time? That is, under "User:Ansible/" so I don't clutter up the Uncyclosphere... --Ansible 18:24, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Hah! The Uncyclosphere. I like it!
Hmm, yeah most people create articles in their userspace these days. It's still fine to use the construction tag in the mainspace however, as long as you edit it once every 7 days or so. —Braydie 18:28, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

The Octopus Method

I stole the octopus method for a page of my own (not the "octopus method", but it's got an octopus that has a method, y'know?). I hope you don't mind; I figure that more pages need an octopus method.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:35, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Nah I don't mind. It's a method passed down from my grandfather to my father, and from my father to me. I was just waiting for someone else to take this curse great piece of method from me. Enjoy your great piece of method. —Braydie 23:40, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Wow, the page it's on has already been noticed. I won't whore it here, but someday you'll be absentmindedly scrolling down a page here and you'll see an adorable hand-drawn (on computer, natch) octopus. Then you'll get a little misty. Then you'll do the man-thing, and crush that new emotion down into that little black ball of hate that you keep deep down inside. Or maybe I'm breathing too much into this. --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:47, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, yeah. I'll probably find it someday. Good luck! —Braydie 02:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Timestamps and what not

Hey, you left me a fun note about time stamping edits, but I'm a LITTLE CONFUSED, because I thought I had been. To the best of my understanding timestamping consists of pressing the signature button or four of these "~" fun tild do-dads. Anyways, if you could fill me in on what exactly the stardard is you want me to conform to, that would be swell. --Benny Goodman 18:00, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, unless there is a change to the wiki I didn't know about (and this is probably right) when someone without a userpage signs it should look like this:

Benny Goodman 18:00, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

But if you're using the four tildes, then I take it back. Sorry for having to drag you down the station like this sir. ;) —Braydie 18:04, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Not a problem at all, the station had lovely arrangements and I needed the walk. --Benny Goodman 18:07, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

User space redirects

I've got rid of the one in your userspace, but I'll keep the others otherwise there will be a lot of red links (I think). Or it might be because those links need to update. I'll have a look if they have later. Thanks. —Braydie 19:26, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't know. It seems to me that all of these links are Main Page clones using Recent template. Recent is fixed, so I guess they will be not redlinked. But I'm not sure. -- herr doktor needsAshuttle Rocket.gif [scream!] 19:29, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Salzburg

Hello, do you just erase pages because they're marked WIP without looking at the contents at all? I made a page entitled 'Salzburg' and didn't have time to update within 7 days, or take away the WIP-sign... And I had done quite a lot of work on it so it made me kind of sad to see it had been taken away. But well, I guess you're very strict with the rules. 16:39, 25 February 2007

--Sheila

Nah, it's not that. It just looked unfinished and because there was no place I could move it to (you haven't registered) I couldn't do anything about it. I'd be happy to restore it and move it to your userspace once you have signed up. —Braydie 15:41, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Wow, you're quick. I registered as sheila_black, can you restore the page? Thanks. :) 16:51, 25 February 2007

Alright, thanks for moving it. I'm just a Lazy Bum guy with a lot going on right now so I haven't had the time to finish it. I'll be sure to get it done by this week. Can you tell me how to get it back to Uncyc instead of my userspace? Thanks! --Hongchong7 05:05, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

That's fine, that's what I'm here for. To get it back just click the "move" tab at the top of the page and then remove the User:Hongchong7/ bit. If you have any other problems with this just ask. Thanks. —Braydie 06:15, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Give me a chance to get to work on something before you pull it minutes later, will ya? A man's got to take breaks from editing to keep his whiskey intake sufficient. Massivepenis 17:22, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I deleted it because it looked like a en.wp copy. If you're going to copy an article from wikipedia and then change it in the future, place the construction tag on it - or even better: create it in your user space by typing "User:Massivepenis/pagetitle" into the search bar. Then, once you have done you can just move it to the main space by removing the "User:Massivepenis" part. Err, if you're still confused with that then just say :) —Braydie 17:27, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Reverting an article

Hey, so someone in essence deleted a great deal of very useful content from the Bass Guitar article under the guise of a "merge" of the articles of Bass and Bass Guitar. Merges are supposed to be blending of the best of each right? Well in this merge all that took place was that the Bass Article was deleted and turned into a redirect for an article with to many quotes at the beginning and unfunny gags etc. Anyways, I'm wondering what I can do to restore the Bass Guitar article; my previous attempts at contributing have led me to the station, so I though it would be wise to talk to you first.--Benny Goodman 23:08, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I've added Actual templates for uncyclopedia to VFD and after realized it was created today. A Pregnant Uploader Named Meant:for me

Hi,

I noticed that you had tagged this entry with a {{fix}} tag. I've re-written a lot of it and added a photo. Do you think it looks good enough to have the fix tag removed?

Thanks,

(&(Inter)&)Tyr3 22:28, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

You're nearly there. What I would do is separate the huge chunk of text so that it has headings for the different bits. Once you've done that you can feel free to remove the tag. —Braydie 22:31, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

What did I do? --Starnestommy 01:47, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Kept pushing, see you tomorrow. —Braydie 01:47, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Elaborate. In what way or ways did I push? --Starnestommy 01:49, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, you got kicked once for flooding "n00b" then when I came in you said "bdjsndd83yjdjdsdsd/d/ad;dasds[dadp;adas" with the excuse of "Didn't mean to fall asleep on the keyboard." Which is very annoying because you know fully well you didn't. :) —Braydie 01:59, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Bertrand and Alex

Please don't keep deleting this page. I realize it's not on a real encyclopedia, I realize that in a way it's a vanity page, but B&A is a joke band, here's our myspace: http://www.myspace.com/bertrandandalex, and we're big fans of Uncyclopedia and we think it would be great to have a page here as background and a joke, obviously.

I'm really sorry if this annoys you or something, but please let us keep this page. – Preceding unsigned comment added by Apollojohn (talk • contribs)

I can't let any band that are non-notable on here, simply because if I let you have one more and more people will want one. Plus, because people don't know you they won't find the jokes funny because there needs to be some background info needed to get some of the jokes. —Braydie 20:09, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Why was Uncyclopedia vs Powershot Huffed?

All of a sudden the page Uncyclopedia vs Powershot was huffed. It was an article I enjoyed very much. Why was it taken down? --70.110.99.173 22:25, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
