September 1: Christmas Shopping Season Starts Day

• The Big Bang - First day of school begins, electrons panic after not doing their summer reading.
• 1939 - Adolf Hitler plays a dirty trick on Poland, after telling them it's "Just ze tip."
• 1946 - The Philippines declares September 1st to be the start of the Christmas season, due to them not knowing what winters are.
• 1990 - The single lightbulb inside of Delaware's Grease Hut begins to flicker periodically: this the extent of the restaurant's Christmas decorations.
• 1994 - The United Nations pass a resolution to prevent the Christmas shopping season from starting prior to the 1st of September; retailers declare war on UN.
• 2003 - Bill Gates buys the Andromeda galaxy for his wife and Alpha Centauri for his son.
• 2007 - Hatsune Miku celebrates being one day old (pictured).
