Forum:UGotM Changes
Recently I have (well, actually AAA!) Noticed a few problems with the UGotM. To put it simply, The people who are really eligable for UGotM (namely me, Starnestommy and metropolis) Are banned before theyt get the chance to win the award. This may seem obvious, but the current rules state that "You cannot have been banned for more than a day in the previous month to be eligable for UGotM" This, as proposed by AAA! should be changed permanently to "You cannot have been banned for more than a day in the previous month to be eligable for UGotM, but if you were nommed before you were banned you are still eligable. You cannot win UGotM, however if the ban extends until after the month you were nommed has passed."
If this had been done earlier, favoured UGotM nominees who were banned for more than a day (ie Me, Starnestommy and Metropolis )would have been eligable for the award.

I seriously don't understand why is it so important for you to receive a UGotM. ~ 11:55, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
If you want UGotM, then you should probably just leave. Come back when you're all grown up. We need funny people, not UGotM wannabes. --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 12:48, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you, Modusoperandi, I totally agree with your advice. I now see the flaws in the way that I was living, and I will never return to Uncyc again. Because really, Useless Gobshite of the month isn't a satirical award at all, it's a completely serious one. After all, Braydie and Zombiebaron have won the award, and we all know how useless and gobshitey they were.-- 20:37, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes. Of course. Me and Zb are the most useless/gobshite people on this site. —Braydie 20:45, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- *sigh*. I mean you should try to write, rather than try to earn an "award" that most people try to avoid (how many times have I said this, anyway?). --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 20:49, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it depends if you're counting that time you were drunk in that field, you said it about 400 times that night. —Braydie 20:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- You call it "drunk in a field". I call it "Tuesday". --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 20:55, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Haha. That's the kinda thing we should be doing on this site, making other people laugh, not going out trying to win awards - of course, if you happen to get an award because of it.. But especially not UGotM. —Braydie 20:58, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Exactly. --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 21:09, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

My "other" vote stands for Nobody cares. -- Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 12:50, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Plus a poll doesn't work. Change of IP means you can vote again. —Braydie 20:45, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Comment: Sure, it says the whole "can't be banned" thingy in the rules. The thing is, the rules have already been ignored on three seperate occasions, and that's the ones I can think of offhand.
But I'd like to point out that GotM is sorta annoying. If it were me, I'd make it so that it weren't awarded a template like it currently is; it would just be confined to UN:UGotM. That way, it'd be a bit more lighthearted than it currently is. —Major Sir Hinoa prepare for trouble • make it double? 18:53, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
