 Comment. This article may well be excellent, but I likely speak for readers throughout North America and Austrailia in saying the article went right over my head solely due to Geography. As such, I'll gladly withdraw my "against" vote provided the article's title first undergoes a minor tweak and is revised to something like, "Covid Lockdown - Wales & UK," or similar. I have no specific "refocused" title in mind. Suffice to say the current working title of "Lockdown" seems too general for so "niche" a satire about a topic as universal as Covid lockdowns. Furthermore, slightly altering the title as mentioned will gain more attention from the Uncyclopedians best-suited to cast a vote on this article (i.e., those people whom are familiar with both the UK's Covid lockdowns AND the Welsh language). Knowing these things first hand, they should receive the fullest and fairest opportunity in deciding whether Unclyclopedia ultimately features this article. - The title was crap. In my defence, I was so annoyed at the junior cop that demanded my name and address as though I were 14, and who then temporarily forgot how to speak English when I embarrassed him, that I wrote it quickly and then couldn't think what to call it or do with it. If it helps, I moved it to Lockdown (UK). The Welsh is either explained in the text as English phrase/Welsh equivalent, or hyperlinked to a page on wikipedia or uncyclopedia. So, no knowledge of the language is required to understand the meaning. And, I don't think anyone really needs to know anything about Welsh Geography to understand from the context that Powys is hillbilly country. I just picked Machynlleth because I know some people from there and listening to English people fail to pronounce it is always good fun. It might have been Yscreifiog or Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, for that matter. I don't have a clue where Winona, Kingman, Barstow or San Bernardino are but that doesn't stop me understanding the meaning of Route 66 Sog1970 (talk) 21:59, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- I currently live in the UK (not Wales though) and I am affected by the lockdowns. I probably missed some jokes here and there but I did chuckle through the article and I think it explains the Welsh to non-speakers pretty well. ~ HipponiasCUN - Talk - Contribs - Articles 17:34, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
