I think we need to start murdering innocent articles. We have far too many articles that were once good, but have degraded to shit. Too many for IC, too many for VFD, too many for the dedicated userbase to revert edits for. I propose we go on a shotgun/locking spree, killing articles indiscriminately and locking them, until someone comes along with an acceptable replacement for the drivel that was once there. Featured or not, I think they just need to be quarantined until someone brings the funny, then lock them in that form. /unrant Colin ALL YOUR BASEHeaney! I personally think so, although I can see why others would disagree. Too many articles are shit, and need to die as quickly as possible, then be re-animated and stay in their pretty, new condition. What's the point of deleting old unnewses? There's literally no benefit. Also, no FFW. Also, Colin, you do realise that to delete and then rewrite an article is more effort than just rewriting it, and then changing what's there. Maybe you didn't realise that could be done. I agree that deleting old UnNews is a bad idea. This week I recorded an audio version of one that was a year old, because someone else had drudged it up and blew the dust off. It was a great piece; it was just kinda passed over for whatever reason. And for that author in particular the same dusting and reposting could probably be done with dozens of other stories. --T. Reform rather than Revolution

No killing spree in my view. If the contributor is still active - give them notice that you would like to make a change. If they don;t respond/don't care - then just go for an overwrite.
