Have you noticed the new headers at Wikipedia? Ugly, inefficient, and probably put up by some yuppie newcomer who wants to make a mark on the company. Will these changes come here? Is that in the planning stage? No no no a thousand times no. The search box here (and where it used to be on Wikipedia) is perfect for searching as you edit. Nuff said for now, just want to note that some of the recent changes here and now on wikipedia seem to have come from a new hire who was given far too much responsibility. Hopefully not. Those changes make Wikipedia look amateurish, plus the new logo is shit. —Pelozurian (talk) 00:46, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Uncyclopedia successfully parodies Wikipedia.
I just looked at some of my favorite pages at Wikipedia, and the energy has been drained from them by the headers and the side junk. It's now blah. Someone ruined Wikipedia!!!!! And may I remind everyone, this is the company that OWNS US. They trusted that these changes at Wikipedia are BETTER. WTF? Al, Papers please 1:03 14 5 MMX
We should revolt! Revolt against our oppressive overlords! Who's with me???Pelozurian (talk) 01:07, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
I'm more concerned by the fact that their search bar is gone... (You can turn those new settings off you know)--Sir HELPME Talk (more? --> CUN ROTM NOTM Pleb USS Pees SK ) 01:08, May 14, 2010 (UTC)
The search bar was put all the way in the right hand corner. Why? I don't know. It makes it much harder to edit and look up links and other information. Al des chains 1:11 14 5
The bad news is: Yes, it will probably come here. We are, after all, a parody of them, and the more we look like them, the better, in that respect. The worse news is: wow, that does look like crap. Our site is being crapped up by them. DAMN IT! The good news is that Gordon Brown is no longer the Prime Minister of the UK, but then David Cameron is the new PM, so it's a bit of a wash, there.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 02:19, May 14, 2010 (UTC)
Dave the Cylon and the boy wonder are not really a good thing for anyone. Also I think we should change to the new wikipedia skin as soon as.--Sycamore (Talk) 07:51, May 14, 2010 (UTC)
Nah, we shouldn't parody for the sake of parody if it means lessening the look and feel of the pages. That wouldn't be fair to the users and readers of our site, even if the people in charge of wikipedia have lost their sense of judgement. Al sans chains 2:45 14 5
Us keeping our look is the best parody of all. And by us I mean me. And by keeping it I mean in my basement; it puts the lotion on its skin!!!  Avast Matey!!! Happytimes are here!* Happytimes.gif (talk) (stalk) Π   ~ Xkey280.jpg ~  14 May 2010 ~ 05:02 (UTC)
At least it proves that wikipedia has no style. I just don't get the huge empty space up at the top. Why's it there? Spang talk 07:29, 14 May 2010
That's where they put your soul. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 16:00, May 14, 2010 (UTC)

It isn't like we didn't know Wikipedia was going to change...

They had their "beta" version up for several months. And personally, I see no reason why we should have to change with them, unless their new design is actually liked better than the old design. Currently, it doesn't seem to be. And besides, I think we've moved pass being just a Wikipedia parody. Nowadays, more of our articles parody their individual subject more so than the Wikipedia article on the same matter. I'm always for not changing something that isn't broken. Seriously, I've told that to Wikia several times when they change stuff. I don't believe this time is any different. MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 17:12, May 14, 2010 (UTC)

My Opinion

I think Wikipedia is trying to catch up with today's trendy web designs. Eventually they'll have fancy animated flash objects everywhere, curvy boxes with super fancy cool arial style text, navigation boxes that scroll with the screen, and (aghast!) light blue gradients! We must stop them at all costs!--M'su Carencro - Talk - Contributions - Blag 03:36, May 15, 2010 (UTC)

What they really need is an "Under Construction" logo...--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 07:11, May 15, 2010 (UTC)
I agree. Also, what the fuck is wrong with Msu's sig? —Pelozurian (talk) 07:12, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
More importantly, why is it screwing with the fonts the rest of the page down?--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 07:15, May 15, 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I fixed it. I know, I'm awesome. What would you guys do without me. —Pelozurian (talk) 07:16, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Huge empty space at the top

Search box at the top right

The fact the search button sometimes brings you directly to nonexistent pages

The completely redundant "Read" button

A couple boxes on the left (article, discussion) and a couple on the right (edit, history, etc.)

Collapsible boxes on the left

The overall new look

Should Uncyclopedia adapt to the new Wikipedia skin?

Stuff from above

  1. We're too cool for that.

We need to abandon the old style

This old style is bullshit. UnBooks logo is still not changed to the same format as WikiBooks, Search bar is still on the side, and everything's in tabs! GiratinaOriginForme.png |Si Plebius Dato' Joe ang Kemador CUN|IC Kill Don't be fooled. I'm an Aussie too. | 08:23, May 22, 2010 (UTC)

Monabooktor skin, from Nonciclopedia

Hello everyone! I am an admin of Nonciclopedia, the italian version of Inci, and I'm looking on foreign cousins sites to see who is discussing the skin matter. These days I'm trying to figure out what to do with the new "vector" that will soon become all wikipedia default skin. Since I don't know yet what are the Staff's intentions (tomorrow I'll send them a mail) nor the fact that there is the possibility that the staff will not give us the vector, I've created this test skin... codename: Monabooktor (lol). It's like a monaco-monobook-vector fusion applied directly to monobook. Tomorrow i'll ask to Staff if is available to implement something alike that, if they haven't the intention to import the real vector.

Sannse haven't say nothing about, around here?

However, if you're interested I can keep you informed. Bye! --Zaza (eh?) 02:17, May 22, 2010 (UTC)

PS: i've used some monaco components because Wikia, some month ago, requested those things only for us, Nonciclopedia... so you should not consinder the "monaco side". ---Zaza- 12:51, May 22, 2010 (UTC)

Remove the pope!?! Never! Wait the complete page load and then click on "cerca". ;) ---Zaza- 23:57, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
Zaza, if you come back, a question. I'd like someone there to translate my article Mortal Sin, which gives your, ah, fine church, a going over. Could you handle that from your end? Thanks. Write me on my talk page if you'd like here Aleister in Chains 19:36 22 5 MMX
That might work... though it would probably break on pages that have their own skins. Or at least, those pages would revert to the old style, and it'd look weird. We'll work something out. Or, we won't. Either way, the world won't end. Spang talk 02:02, 23 May 2010
