Is this really nessecary?[edit source]
Cant you just lock the pages from editing? It seems pretty pointless to delete the pages entirely.
Ayumi Hamasaki[edit source]
Why was Ayumi Hamasaki's page taken down? I have two guesses: Touchy Ayu fans complained, or people just didn't get the many inside references to Hamasaki's work and thought it was just mindless vandalism. I'm really curious, 'cause her page was pure gold.
- Please sign your comments by typing four tildes (~~~~). Also, keep in mind that truth does not automatically make a page funny (see HTBFANJS). If you want the article to be taken off CVP, you will need to write a draft in a user subpage and then seek Pee Review. Pentium5dot1 06:19, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
I know that truth doesn't = funny, but there were lots of references that only Ayu fans would get. That's why I'm guessing most people thought it was vandalism, when it wasn't. Lots of her fans at Ayumi Hamasaki forums got the references and found it hilarious - just because you didn't get them doesn't mean it = not funny. I just want to know why it was taken down. 74.12.216.77 00:54, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- As a stab in the dark... we like our articles to be funny for everyone. Check our in-joke policy (I'd link it, but I'm not entirely sure we even have one, plus I don't really care enough). If all you've got is fanatics working on an article, you get one of two outcomes:
- The fans get to it, and the article skips widely accessible humour in favor of lavish praise.
- The haters get to it, and the article skips widely accessible humour in favor of merciless slander.
- If you want, make an account, start up a draft in your namespace (for example, at User:Thisiswhereyournamegoes/Ayumi Hamasaki) and when you finish, bring it to one of the big kids for review. Otherwise, ain't no way in hell it's getting anywhere. Ж Kalir with all the grace of a tin can 01:09, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Some CVP candidates[edit source]
- Ashley Tisdale/Ashley tisdale - 13 times
- Choad - Alternate spelling of Chode, recreated 32 times between the two. (28 for Chode, 4 for Choad)
- Fall out boy - 9 times, add logs to Fall Out Boy (Created 18 times between the two)
- Kurt Busch - 6 times
- Jonas Brothers, Jonas brothers - 8 times
- Tony Romo/Tony romo - 8 times
- Smosh - huffed 10 times
- Korn
- Hollister
- Tila Tequila
More to come
Also, Halo 2, Halo 3, Big Boss, and Philippines, and probably more out there, have no deletion log on the page. It would be nice if this was fixed. also, Hellmo, Barney the Dinosaur, and Liquid Snake were only recreated once or twice, and the rules say at least 3 times, so they don't belong here. User:Slavemaster2 8:36 PM ET 22 December 2007
- The Metal Gear-related titles still have many incoming links; an effort should probably be made to orphan them first. --Pentium5dot1 00:24, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- I will start working on that now. I Am Your Master Insert complaint here 2:26 PM ET 4 January 2008
- I tried clicking one of the links from a Barney-related page in another language, and it took me to en:Barney Hitler of all places. Now I find that both Barney and Barney the Dinosaur redirect here? Odd, that... one would think that en: would have something on the putrid purple abomination, if other Uncyclopedias do - after all, he originated on PBS. --66.102.80.212 20:02, 13 February 2008 (EST)
RuneScape[edit source]
Redirect that to www.unrunescape.wikia.com It's basically a wiki that mocks the game. --156.34.69.100 23:21, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Nope. Too xenophobic. Ж Kalir with all the grace of a tin can 01:10, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Malay[edit source]
Look at the page, it's been CVP'ed since last year along with the Chinese page, and then the Chinese page got unCVPed a while ago and is again filled up with the same satire from before. Might as well unCVP the Malay page too, the Malaysia category's growing in size, and requests to unblock the malay page are going to pop up sooner or later. It's supposed to be nothing more than satire anyway, and Flammable deserves to have his head checked (or his nationality) for blocking the page. It's about time it got unCVPed. – Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.46.112.142 (talk • contribs)
iPhone[edit source]
I'm suggesting that it goes on CVP until someone can write a decent article about it. The reasons are as follows.
- It keeps getting created without any content.
- Recreated more times than I can count.
- Constantly on QuickVFD
Thank You. --Uncognito 09:09, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind, I found out it redirected to a section on the Macintosh page. My bad. --Uncognito 10:44, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Dragonforce[edit source]
It appears that dragonforce got CVPd because people kept writing one-line articles. I've just written a more comprehensive version here: [[1]] complete with pictures too! Any chance of it being un-CVPd?
Ta :)
--MeteoriK 13:48, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I've attempted my own take on the band – look at User:Martinultima/DragonForce. It's not complete yet; I'll try to finish it sometime soon if it's something worth keeping. Before anyone asks, no, I don't know much about the band, so most of it's the same jokes repeating (I'll try to do better), and I've only heard that one song of theirs (and I hate it). Read the page history/comments, add or edit if you want, let me know on my talk page. artin ltimatalkcontribs 02:51, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- An older (previously deleted?) version of the DragonForce article seems to have been userfied to User:Railcgun/DragonForce. --Pentium5dot1 19:03, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
N00b help[edit source]
is there any way of viewing an article that has been CPVd? Are they archived somewhere or something?--Veggieburgerfish 01:41, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- No, there usually isn't, although a page is occasionally removed from CVP when either somebody does a rewrite or it has expired. --Kurgan 01:13, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Suggestions for fixing certain CVP pages[edit source]
Strong suggestions[edit source]
Desu: Userfy pre-vandalism revisions to User:Tepples/Desu, because Tepples created the original clean (but boring) disambiguation page - alternative: If policy requires that userfication can only be done to the requestor's userspace, then User:Pentium5dot1/Storage facility/Desu- Umm...why? Withdrawing per below.
Felix: Retarget to Felix the Cat- Done.
Weak suggestions[edit source]
Floccinaucinihilipilification: Do we have an article on long words we could retarget this to?- Umm...why? Withdrawing per below.
Buttsex and similar: Retarget to Sex perhaps? Or just DPP?- Umm...why? Withdrawing per below.
Pfft: Do we have an article on onomatopoeia we could retarget this to?- Done.
Shark Bite: Retarget to Shark perhaps?- No, sorry. CVP remains, due to past events and such.
There are probably more things I could suggest, but this should be enough for now. --Pentium5dot1 01:56, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've crossed out the ones that are taken care of, and writtten little bold comments under each one. Sometimes the comments are pretty useless, but three of them point out suggestions that seem to make little sense. I'm sure you can figure it out. -- The Zombiebaron 02:09, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Response: I hereby withdraw all the requests you deemed to be useless. I plead guilty to not realizing sooner that (1) most vandals don't really repent and (2) redirects/disambigs within articlespace just shift the vandalism problem around. I will try to not make further unnecessary discussion on the CVP process unless I can offer any extremely insightful guidance on the transition to DPP. --Pentium5dot1 02:28, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, well, I did appreciate the two that I did act on. They were "insightful". Unless I'm using the word "insightful" uninsightfully. -- The Zombiebaron 02:32, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- What I *should* have used this section to discuss: We need a better system to organize the creation of rewrites for articles that are currently on CVP but cover important concepts, such as Everywhere. However, that would be "unnecessary" discussion at this point, so I rest my case. Pentium5dot1 02:36, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Sonic articles[edit source]
Why were Miles 'Tails' Prower and Amy Rose CVPed? I can't see the history of the articles. I would also like to see them un-CVPed so I can attempt to write a decent article on them. kthnxbai. The-Real-Syko 21:25, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Write them or at least start them in your userspace, i.e. User:The-Real-Syko/Amy Rose and then when it's ready, leave a message for me, or another (active) admin. I/they will check to make sure it's not utterly terrible and then unprotect the page and move it to the proper place. Simple! • Spang • ☃ • talk • 21:29, 21 May 2008
