Synthesizer V
Synthesizer V, commonly referred to as SynthV and Synth5, is a vocal synthesis engine that was advertised to be more realistic than Vocaloid, which it already is. Despite the fact that they have created the most realistic-sounding vocals, no one seems to talk about it, unless you go on Twitter. It took an entire year to develop Synthesizer V from 2017 to 2018, which means that it beat the record previously taken by other engines.
Characters[edit | edit source]
Eleanor Forte[edit | edit source]
Eleanor Forte is the first vocal to be released for Synthesizer V. She is basically Hatsune Miku with a monochrome palette with hints of pink. Despite having an American accent, she comes from the Middle Ages. She talks only in Old English since she can't understand Modern English. When she is not singing, she likes to go on EBay and shop for antique items. Eleanor has auctioned items of her own there, and has won numerous auctions.
Yamine Renri[edit | edit source]
Yamine Renri is the first Japanese vocal to be released, even though she was an UTAU before the switch. Despite being well known in the UTAU community, she is actually the most forgettable character to be released.
GENBU[edit | edit source]
The first male vocal to be released. Until 2022, he was the only Japanese male vocal to have ever been released. His name means "black tortoise" in Japanese, which is true considering the fact that he is a slow walker. GENBU could also turn into a turtle as well.
AiKO[edit | edit source]
Despite having a Japanese name, she is the first Chinese vocal to be released. She is a nun at a church. Not only that, but she is Taiwanese as well. It is mentioned that her headphones could hear every sound in the world, even earrape because her ears aren't prone to bleeding.
Chiyu[edit | edit source]
Chiyu is the first member of MEDIUM⁵ to be released as a Synthesizer V voice. She is an arsonist, and is the primary cause of forest fires and heatwaves around the world. But even if she did all of these things, she's not responsible for global warming.
Shian[edit | edit source]
Shian, full name Shian LaBeouf is the youngest of the members of the girl group MEDIUM⁵. She is a Muslim, more specifically a Shi'a Muslim. Shian has been considered as one of the greatest actresses of her generation. She has also created the viral video and meme "Just Do It" in 2016, 2 years prior to her debut. Also, apparently it was mentioned that she has "the faint smile of a baby"[1] but in reality she has PTSD.
Cangqiong[edit | edit source]
Cangqiong is the oldest member of the C-pop girl group MEDIUM⁵. Despite claiming that she's 18 years old, she is actually 10 years older than that, so she's actually 28. She has the biggest boobs out of the members. She keeps a collection of butterflies. Like a butterfly's wings, she is sensitive and does not like when people infiltrate her privacy.
Haiyi[edit | edit source]
Actually the first of Xingchen's sisters to be revealed. She lives in Bikini Bottom and claims herself as the "queen of jellyfish". Like most marine animals, she cannot touch land, otherwise she will die. Unlike LUMi, she's not immortal. A jellyfish's lifespan is 1-3 years, so considering the fact that she's 14, she's most likely dead by now.
Saki[edit | edit source]
The first member of Dreamtonics' Letter Mafia. She is the leader of the pack and was formerly represented with a multicolored S. Recently it has turned to pink and purple. She represents the letter S. In her human form, she has slightly curled pink hair, but she used to have rainbow hair before she dyed it to pink.
Kotonoha Akane & Aoi[edit | edit source]
The first pair to be released for Synthesizer V. They're not twins; they're siblings. Akane is described as an "airhead", similar to anon. So, assuming Akane is like anon from Vocaloid, then Aoi has the same personality as kanon. Since their personalities match anon and kanon's, this could also mean that their favorite food is bread.
Muxin[edit | edit source]
A 14 year old soon-to-be astronomer at NASA who likes to gaze through his telescope. He does not have an assigned birthday unlike every member of MEDIUM⁵, so consider August 15 instead. Unlike the others that were released before him, he was only restricted to Taobao, meaning that overseas users will have difficulty purchasing him.
Minus[edit | edit source]
Minus is an edgier version of Xingchen. She was created when Xingchen couldn't revoke her Vocaloid license, so they decided to hire her as a substitute until Xingchen gets a Synthesizer V voicebank. Her favorite subject is mathematics.
Koharu Rikka[edit | edit source]
Koharu Rikka is known to have the highest Wi-Fi speeds in her house. She is a part-time worker at Verizon and is considered to be the hottest one there. Her "friend" is a teddy bear that doesn't do anything at all.
Tsurumaki Maki[edit | edit source]
Out of all the characters in this list, Maki is the most private one of them all. Not known is known about her private life except for her birthday. She is considered to be even more private than Cangqiong because she dislikes disclosing her age, height, weight, social security number, home address, work address, the names of her family members, her IP address, and lots of more redacted stuff. However, she does have a long list of interests, similar to Yuezheng Ling. She lives with her father since her mom died. Also she was a Voiceroid.
By the way, here's the list in question:
- Her favorite phrase is "Go go gyungyun!".
- Her special move/final smash is Great Electric Fire.
- She plays the guitar.
- Speaking of guitars, she specifically plays the Fender Mustang.
- Her birthday is September 15.
- She is a Virgo.
- She is the leader of Jam Band.
- Her blood type is A+.
- Her favorite food is lasagna.
- Her favorite color is red.
- Her favorite historical figure is Mother Teresa.
- She is not good at Scrabble.
- When she is not singing, she watches sports (baseball is her favorite one), movies and reads a lot of books.
- Her favorite movies are Streets of Fire and Strictly Ballroom.
Tsuina-chan[edit | edit source]
Tsuina-chan, or Kisaragi Tsuina, is only known because of 2chan. She is very skinny and suffers from an eating disorder. Her blood type is a pun: it's "O-ni".[2] Somehow she managed to have a successful campaign to make her into a Synthesizer V product.
Qingsu[edit | edit source]
Qingsu is the second member of Dreamtonics' Letter Mafia. She is representative of the letter Q. She is the first Chinese member of the mafia. Also, she's a member of QAnon. In her human form, she has blue hair tied in a bun, which is slightly messy.
ANRI[edit | edit source]
ANRI, full name Airi Lin, is the Chinese-American friend of Eleanor Forte. She loves bubble tea and strawberry Napoleon cake. She has a pet guinea pig named Chachamaru. Asides from spending time with her guinea pig, she writes and produces music. Her birthday is on June 13, making her a Gemini. Her favorite artists are Aaliyah and Frank Ocean. Assuming from the "produces music" part, she also writes music for other characters in this list too.
SOLARIA[edit | edit source]
SOLARIA, formerly known as SOLARIS, is the goddess of the sun, so she is a very deadly laser. She has existed since the world began. Asides from keeping us hot, she has performed in Broadway musicals and is a singer-songwriter. She has been considered as the most hyped Synthesizer V character of all time, even more than Eleanor Forte, but only one song (AURA) has 1 million views on YouTube.
Kyomachi Seika[edit | edit source]
Kyomachi Seika is the mayor of Seika, Japan. She keeps the town up to date on what's happening so far. She was going to visit Taiwan but COVID-19 prevented her from doing so. She isn't that forgettable as Renri but almost no one uses her anyways.
Kevin[edit | edit source]
Kevin is the first American member of the Letter Mafia. He is representing the letter K. Asides from being a member of the Letter Mafia, he is also the member of the Triple K club. He is also a huge nerd. In his human form, he has green, spiky hair.
Ryo[edit | edit source]
Ryo is the first male Japanese member to join the Letter Mafia. He represents the letter R. Ryo is also a pirate as well. Also, he likes traumatizing little kids. In his human form, he has slick, red hair.
Mo Chen[edit | edit source]
Mo Chen is the first member of the Letter Mafia to represent a combination of 2 letters. He represents the letter combination "Mo", but no one knows what that represents. It could have meanings: the Danish singer of the same name or Microsoft Office. He was going to join on April 15th but joined a week later. In his human form, he has blue-grey hair. He also has a buzz cut. Also is allegedly from Macau.
Natsuki Karin[edit | edit source]
Natsuki Karin is a third-year student attending the same school as Koharu Rikka. She likes talking to the manager and gets angry a lot. Her favorite food is cheese. She likes archery and cute things. Also, she claims to be goth.
An Xiao[edit | edit source]
An Xiao is the orange-haired member of the Letter Mafia. He represents the letter combination "An". Combine Mo Chen and An Xiao together and you get the word "moan". An Xiao has a similar voice as Mo Chen, except that his voice is slightly pitched up. His human form is similar to Ryo's but it's more curled. No one knows where he comes from, but he's most likely in China.
Feng Yi[edit | edit source]
Feng Yi is the most unique member of the Letter Mafia, asides from the fact that her hair color in her human form is light blue and orange, and she has the longest hair in the Letter Mafia. She can sing Chinese opera, which is something that you don't see in any other Synthesizer V vocal. Years of training have allowed her to do this. She represents the letter combination "Fe". Her favorite foods are rich in iron.
Weina[edit | edit source]
Unlike the members before her, she is the only member of the Letter Mafia that is named after a person. She represents the letter combination "We", which also happens to be a word too. She has been considered to be the highest quality vocal that Dreamtonics has put out. Her human form isn't even human at all; she is actually a cyborg trying to replicate human voices. Also, she has red and yellow pigtails with a signature gold clip attached to her bangs.
Yuma[edit | edit source]
Not to be confused with VY2. He is an androgynous vocal, similar to Flower. When his name was first revealed, the Chinese fandom could not take him seriously because they thought that VY2 actually joined Synthesizer V, when, in reality, VY2 did not. He has yellowish-green hair with highlights of orange and purple in his human form. For this one, he has a ponytail.
Natalie[edit | edit source]
The first female English vocal to join the Letter Mafia. Her hair color is slightly lighter than Megurine Luka, and even her hairstyle represents that when she is a human. Her favorite element in the periodic table is Sodium.
Hanakuma Chifuyu[edit | edit source]
The final TOKYO6 character to be released. She is a freshman at Rikka's high school and is very suicidal. However, she let go of these thoughts when she saw Karin performing live, which prevented her from self-harm. Her favorite season is winter and prefers bitter things than sweet ones. Chifuyu's favorite subject is history, and her teddy bear is named after a colonel during the Civil War.
Mai[edit | edit source]
The first free vocal from Dreamtonics. She only has two vocal modes despite the fact that she was going to get more than that. Because she is free, she just doesn't really exist. She's just a sketch on Saki's sketchbook. Basically, Mai is an imaginary friend of the Letter Mafia.
ASTERIAN[edit | edit source]
You might know him from the Manscaped commercials. However, not only that, but he is the god of the moon. His hype only existed on Twitter and it was just only for a few days. The only thing that stands out from him is that he has braids, something you don't see in any commercial voicebank release at all. Also, ASTERIAN claims he walked the moon first. What a liar.
Xuan Yu[edit | edit source]
Xuan Yu is Dreamtonics' first male stylized vocal. He was made for rock music, however he could also be made for pop music and ballads. His supposed personality mentions that he is passionate like the sun, similar to SOLARIA. Except he does not have the same personality as her. He is an artificial human being made from clay in his human form, if you could call it that. At some point his heart nearly shattered during a performance.
Cong Zheng[edit | edit source]
Cong Zheng is Dreamtonics' first female stylized vocal. Unlike Xuan Yu, she was made for rock music...and that's just it. Yes, she's just made for one genre, but at least she's not the rock equivalent of Prima or Sachiko. While she's not made out of clay, her entire skin in her human form is made of metal. That doesn't mean she's a robot, though.
Cheng Xiao[edit | edit source]
Cheng Xiao is the first ever Peking opera-based vocal in the world. Granted, there's others like Feng Yi who could pull it off, but Cheng Xiao is actually the first. She is the Chinese Prima and is somehow even harder to use than Prima. If you try to tune her into other genres then it wouldn't sound good. She's too abstract.
XIA YU YAO[edit | edit source]
Originally, XIA YU YAO was going to be released for Vocaloid along with Xin Hua. However, that never happened. She was instead created for Synthesizer V. Her creators thought that she wouldn't be released for said engine after they deleted a tweet related to that, but she ended up being released for this engine instead. XIA YU YAO likes sponges and cleaning things.
Ninezero[edit | edit source]
Ninezero is an Australian vocal who specializes in rock and metal music. Dreamtonics makes too many vocals, so much that they should've been developed for another engine. Controversy arose when Ninezero fully admitted to supporting NFTs and is an anti-vaxxer. Should've not revealed his identity, then.
JUN[edit | edit source]
JUN, full name Juneau Kheang, is the person revealed at the end of ANRI's anniversary video. He is most likely Southeast Asian given his name. He plays a lot of instruments. However, if you look at him, he is basically KAITO but with tanned skin and a red and black color scheme. Also, he has a sleeveless coat and a crop top. At least he's just different from his Vocaloid clone. Not only that, but apparently he has the same birthday as RIME from CeVIO. Although, there's going to be fans out there who will celebrate both his birthday and anniversary.
Kasane Teto[edit | edit source]
"SHE IS A UTAULOID! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???"
Well, technically, she is for over a decade, but she's there because she's apparently getting a commercial release for the first time. If you've been in the vocal synth for so long you don't need a description of her. If not, the only things you should know about her is that she has red hair tied into drills and likes baguettes. She is also 31 years old, however she looks very young.
Lin Lai[edit | edit source]
Dreamtronics' first ever male child vocal. Except that he's in Chinese. His name also happens to mean an instrument made out of bamboo.
Yun Quan[edit | edit source]
Dreamtronics' first ever female child vocal. Again, she's in Chinese. Again, how many vocals has Dreamtronics released in a single year???
Ritchy[edit | edit source]
Ritchy's different from the other Alphabet Mafia members, like D-Lin. If he exists as a human his jacket's letters would have an abstract pattern. Also, he is a rapper.
D-Lin[edit | edit source]
Like Ritchy, D-Lin has a different jacket design and is a rapper. Except his default language is Chinese. Nothing else to say considering the fact that Dreamtronics likes releasing new vocals every year.
Hayden[edit | edit source]
Look closely enough and you'll know why Dreamtronics chose his color scheme to be inspired by Paramore.
Eri[edit | edit source]
The first ever Japanese rap vocal and first female rap vocal ever to be released. What did you expect?
Sheena[edit | edit source]
Synthesizer V's first ever bilingual Japanese and English vocal. Seems that Sheena's rival is Megurine Luka.
Wei Shu[edit | edit source]
If this is supposed to be the Cantonese vocal that the developers have developed all along then I'm not surprised.
Saros[edit | edit source]
The first ever non-binary commercial vocal ever released! Now that's progress...kinda. They seem to focus on the glam rock genre based on their looks.
Ayame[edit | edit source]
Originally was named Aya but apparently Dreamtronics found out that they will be sued for naming a commercial vocal synth "Aya". Well that's a first timer, but they didn't for Yuma though.
Jin[edit | edit source]
[insert the screams of BTS fangirls here]
Actually, no. it's not the BTS member.
OSCAR[edit | edit source]
OH MY GOD WHY??? I CAN'T UNSEE HIM ANYMORE SEND HELP SEND HELP SEND HELP
The future of Synthesizer V[edit | edit source]
Overall, it seems that Synthesizer V is eclipsing Vocaloid in relevancy, just only slowly. Companies that used to develop Vocaloid products would find themselves working for a more realistic engine. Even if it's not well known, it seems to have a bright future ahead of it.
