I was getting into a futile discussion on Pee review about whether or not the article User:Sonic80/Ghetto White Boy Syndrome violates our racism rules. I say it doesn't, and its in fact more mild than some of our other articles such as Black_People and everything in Category:Racist articles and Category:Racism. I don't want to start a flame war over this, I just want to know that is the consensus opinion on racism.--Mnbvcxz (Annoy) 14:47, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm the offended party on GWBS! I like the Black_People page, it's a clear and overt parody. GWBS isn't written that way, it's more like a diatribe on "race traitors" instead of making fun of wannabee white boy rappers. It's such a great subject for parody and it's been completely ruined by the tone and the author's approach to the subject. A page which is supposedly about white-boy rappers is devoting it's time to denigrating the imitated culture instead of the person doing the imitating.--    15:13, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

My understand is that we don't really have racism rules. So long as there is some kinda effort at making it funny we allow it. This article makes the cut easily for me. Anyone who is able to understand this article will not be "damaged" by it. MrN 15:18, Dec 27

I don't really care about the "racism" and that's not the main issue, I just didn't find it to be funny racism....too reality based.....looks like mainstream KKK ideology taken seriously....not funny. If it were a subsection of a page titled KKK, perhaps in the "greatest threats to America" section....hilarious! Well, first off thank you for moving the discussion to the Forum. I logged on today and thought it was actually reviewed, (I was wrong). Now to the topic at hand, I still don't get what you are getting at Dr. Strange. So its ok to be racist as long as you are blatantly saying "White Power! Death to all blacks!", but if it is only slightly racist, or has a deep undertone of racism its bad? I think the point DrStrange is trying to make is that overt racism is more clearly humourous than this article, which is quite un-funny. The un-funny makes DrStrange consider too deeply the implications of what is being said, rather than simply laughing off the article as a parody of racism and racists everywhere. I am acutely sensitive to racism myself, but I didn't find this article offensive in the least. I can, however, see how DrStrange would, because it is not at all funny. DrStrange is primarily talking about humour, not racism, but I think he is digging a little too deep by comparing it to KKK literature. DrStrange is right that the denegration of common aspects of black urban culture is unfunny, but I don't find it particularly offensive.

I am in favour of keeping this article, but I think it needs to be funnied up. There are two obvious ways this could be done. One is DrStrange's suggestion about making the article more overtly a KKK propaganda piece, which is actually a good idea that would probably please everybody. The other would be removing most of the references to common aspects of black culture as "ghetto" (more un-funny than offensive, as I have said) and focusing on GWBS as a form of rebellion by upper-class kids in predominantly white neighbourhoods. I wouldn't call that article unfunny solely because of the incidental references to black culture. In fact I wouldn't call this article "unfunny" at all. Unfunny is a rather hard word, it means alot more than not VFH worthy, and shouldn't be thrown around promiscuously for when an article comes a bit short of its potential. --Mnbvcxz (Annoy) 23:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

We have two rules

1. Be funny and not just stupid
2. Don't be a dick (unless you're an admin).

If Sonic80's article is unfunny and/or he was a dick for writing it and/or banning him would be funny, then he should receive a ban of some length between 1 second and 9999 years, inclusive.

If Sonic80's article is at least slightly funny and he was not a dick for writing it, then banning him would probably still be funny and he should receive a ban of some length between 1 second and 9999 years, inclusive.

The article should be deleted if and only if some admin wants to delete it.

Honestly, I don't know if some of you are actually debating on the subject or just trying to stir things up here for a laugh. For those bored enough to look up, here is the alleged Pee Review.

Ghetto "culture"? I mean, how old are you, people? Unless you can find evidence of Martin Luther King Jr. doing a rap number in front of an audience or using "ghetto" catchphrases such as "bro", "ho" and "fo' shizzle", I think the dispute is pretty much over here. Who in the right mind really aspires to be a piece of trash robbing grocery stores, soliciting sex trades and despised by the rest of the human society anyway? The music industry dishes out this kind of inane ideas by the dozens and parents simply stand aside and look on as their children soak them all up like a sponge in a puddle of urine. Don't get me wrong here, but unless you are the sort of human abortions with a string of criminal records and not even a hint of shame and remorse, you are better off cutting down on your regurgitation of that MTV-style "dissing-the-'Ebonic-culture'-makes-you-racist" diatribe.
