- Wikipedia has released articles in CD and DVD I believe. It's a shame that releasing Uncyclopedia articles would probably be an unrealistic goal, because it would get this place publicity, and besides, a lot of the featured articles are damned funny. But I doubt it's possible, unless Wikia liked the idea and was going to help us along, which isn't going to happen. – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • critchat) 18:39 Apr 05, 2008
- As much as I'd like to see it happen, I have a feeling that creative commons licenses, not-for-profit blah blah blah stuff would get in the way. Damn "creative commons licenses, not-for-profit blah blah blah stuff"... -- 15Mickey20 (talk to Mickey) 19:48, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yerr, as much as I dig this idea, seeing as how Wikia would have to fund it I don't think it's going to happen. Now, if we had an actual fundraiser to get someone to publish us, then it could happen. Question is, where would the profits go? We don't have any Uncyc bigwigs outside of Wikia. And if they won't publish us then I don't wanna give them money. =/ ~Minitrue Sir SysRq! Talk! Sex! =/ GUN • WotM • RotM • AotM • VFH • SK • PEEING • HP • BFF @ 19:49 Apr 5
Well, on selecting articles, we'd have to include at least 1 from every writer who pitched in plus the 100 or so best articles. It was just an idea really -- 01:02, 6 April 2008 (UTC) Compiled a list -- 07:18, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

As fun as this would be, I see another problem. A lot of the humor comes from the links, how would that be incorporated into a book? For instance, if an article contained something like this? --OptyC Sucks! CUN 20:23, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- There will be pieces of string linking those to other pages. Categories, too. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 20:26, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Eh just an idea --Sir DJ ~ Irreverent 03:52, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
It seems to me that the answer to the not-for-profit question and the where do the profits go question are identical. If proceeds from the book went to a charity, wouldn't that solve both issues? As for where the money to print it would come from I have no idea. --Cap'n Sir Ben GUN WotM VFH VFP 04:14, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps the profits could be donated to a charity for aspergers? --OptyC Sucks! CUN 15:31, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

A voice of reason
While I'm for a book of some kind, I'm not sure that you're aware of the difficulties in its production. You have to make sure Wikia is okay with it, and make damn sure that it's not-for-profit (if only to preserve the protection that Fair Use provides for the many copyright'd pictures that are involved), and you have to pick an appropriate number of pages, and you have to pick a publisher of some kind, and you have to format the pages from the wikified landscape format of a monitor to the whoknowswhat portrait format of a book (landscape format books only work if they're books on landscapes), and probably a few other things that I've forgotten about or, in all likelyhood, remain entirely ignorant of.
I'm not saying that it shouldn't be done; what I'm saying is that it can be done, but it will probably be a lot of work. If you feel that you're the person for the task (or the one to corral the many feuding and irascible groups of generally hostile and ill-kempt Uncyclopedians necessary to spread the load out), then have at it. In the very least, the massive, worldwide, chart-topping success will score you a couple of votes on Uncyclopedian of the Month. Or, it will break you. I've seen it happen to stronger people than you. Stalin cried like a baby by the end, and all he wanted to do was trim his moustache. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 13:04, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- WOW. It was just an idea. Nothing more. -- 13:08, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- DJ Irrev is right; if even World of Warcraft ("WOW") was once "Nothing more" than "just an idea" too, than I believe that we can publish this book. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 13:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah... that... ...... -- 13:54, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- And beside that, how would you go about selecting the BEST 100 articles? Go through the featured, and you would see that there are way more then 100 featured articles. Should they be presented as they were upon being featured? As they were at the publishing of the book? And what about quality control? Or alphabetical order? And all those in-jokes... I doubt the references to Oscar Wilde will be as funny to people outside of Uncyclopedia. Sorry to dampen the day, but the practical sounds pretty hard. Warm Regards, Javascap
