Changing logo for Made-Up Holidays

Would it be a good idea to change the Uncyclopedia Google picture on silly holidays to match the occasion, like Google does? If we were to do this, we would need to make up some silly holidays (I would put one here, but I'm not funny enough :P), make pictures for those holidays and leave the picture on the page for about a week (unless it's a monthly holiday) before swapping it out with the default. --Habstinator 22:02, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

Proposal

Can I suggest a second time that we withdraw the nomination and give it a go at making this a collaboration via the whole wiki now that we can add custom text? I can use the announcement banners to get people to suggest texts to add, we can get say up to three suggestions per user and then vote on them. How does that sound? @Noopnurf: that was a good close, not unfair at all. Just because a VFH has a "majority vote" (or positive score, more accurately) doesn't mean we have to leave it open until it goes negative or hits enough to be featured. Can you imagine how many stale VFHs would still be on the VFH page if we did that? 4 against scores made it very unlikely to be featured. MrX blow me 17:02, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

The treshold for "winning" on VFH isn't a simple majority, it's a total score of 5 or above. If it hasn't gotten over that threshold then it definitely hasn't won. 17:13, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

Yeah, that plus we could note that there's a little nuance, admins using discretion, waiting at least a few days in most cases, sometimes waiting to see if we can ever get back to a point where we have higher scores to feature, things like that. MrX blow me 19:17, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

One final chance to get this going

I propose two possibilities, either we go back to the old version and we let users come up with lots of hilarious search texts like "Where in Kenya was Obama born" and "How do I pull a lightbulb out of my ass without breaking it" or we can go with the current version and do one search term with hilarious results (and also ask people for input), I think a great search term would be "uncyclopedia". The second option would be harder as we would have to have a lot more serious collaboration to have a consistent tone etc. We can ask the community via a banner to volunteer either search terms (in the first case) or search results in the second case. @Shabidoo: The framework is in place to do both... Leave the current version in place IMO. There's 3 pages, right: the 'article' page, the 'frontpage' and the 'I'm feeling lucky' page. Let people customize all three by adding details to the article, adding search texts to the front page, and search results to the I'm feeling lucky page. But make it a loose, sporadic collaboration rather than something 'serious' so it doesn't get too burdensome :) Noopnurf, Noopiest of Nurfs 08:38, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
