Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is a mobile version of the already popular Pokémon Trading Card Game. It has a simpler battle system than the actual real-life game and is basically the equivalent of gambling. You can open only 2 packs per day, but if you have enough pack hourglasses (which are used to refill pack stamina), you can do this more than twice. Each new set gets released each month, which means that you won't be able to complete the previous set because everyone else is trying to open up the new set to get new cards. If you want to complete an entire set, you have to open over 10,000 packs of a set to do so.
Sets[edit | edit source]
Genetic Apex[edit | edit source]
The first expansion to ever exist. Obviously, it's the worst one because there are far better sets out there that have more powerful decks. It's based off of the first 151 Pokemon, aka the Pokemon that everyone knows. The Pokemon in focus are Pikachu, Charizard and Mewtwo. If you get all 151 Pokemon, you get a special immersive Mew card.
Mythical Island[edit | edit source]
The first themed booster pack. This one is themed on a tropical island, obviously. This is basically the sequel of Genetic Apex because of you getting an immersive Mew card from the last expansion. Obviously Mew is in focus, but Celebi is also another one. It also features Generation 2 and 4 Pokemon for the first time.
Space-Time Smackdown[edit | edit source]
This one also focuses on Generation 4. It also is the first expansion to have 2 packs. The Pokemon we're focusing on this time are Dialga and Palkia. It features Pokemon tools for the first time, which can be used to basically make your Pokemon more powerful. The giant cape increases your Pokemon's health, the rocky helmet makes your Pokemon slightly less vulnerable to attacks and the Lum Berry recovers all special conditions that the Pokemon has.
Triumphant Light[edit | edit source]
This is basically Space-Time Smackdown 2.0. Except, this one focuses on Arceus and if any Pokemon have link abilities with it, Arceus will become even more powerful.
Shining Revelry[edit | edit source]
As its name suggests, this pack introduces Shiny Pokemon in the game. Once that pack got released, everyone basically spent their entire money to get Shiny Pokemon. Not only that, but more downloads of the game were increased to a million percent. It also marks the first appearance of Pokemon from Generation 9. All decks have ex Pokemon on them, so they're really powerful for the most part. This is the same set that has the most powerful deck in the entire game; the Giratina ex Deck. You are likely going to win if the opponent's deck is mostly weak to dark energy Pokemon.
Celestial Guardians[edit | edit source]
This expansion marks the first time Generation 7 Pokemon have been featured. It features Solgaleo and Lunala. It also features Alola forms for some Pokemon. It also has the most powerful item card of the entire game, the Rare Candy. If you use it, the Pokemon will basically skip Stage 2.
Extradimensional Crisis[edit | edit source]
This one focuses on Ultra Beasts. If you attach Beastite to any Ultra Beast, it will get ten more damage points to your opponent's Pokemon for every turn.
Eevee Grove[edit | edit source]
This one focues on Eeveelutions. This set also has the first ever two-way item, the Eevee Bag. The first option is that any Eeveelution will have +10 more damage. The second option heals 20 damage from any Eeveelution. It also has Leftovers, which is literally just an apple core. It gradually restores the Pokemon's health over time.
Wisdom of Sea and Sky[edit | edit source]
Originally, its art for Ho-Oh was apparently traced and stolen. Eventually it was revealed to be a placeholder the entire time. Thus the Ho-Oh art was replaced with an original art that was not stolen. It also introduces Baby Pokemon in the game, in which there is a chance that it will be an extra 6th card. Baby Pokemon can attack without energy and that they aren't weak to anything, and that their retreat costs are free. However, they have low HP. So you better evolve them before they instantly die.
Secluded Springs[edit | edit source]
At this point you're tired of getting new sets. This is just basically another sequel to Wisdom of Sea and Sky over again.
Deluxe Pack: ex[edit | edit source]
The final one of the A sets. This one has parallel foil cards. If you are concerned about finishing up every single previous set, you should open up a pack of this set. It was available from September 30, 2025 to October 29, 2025, but you will have to wait to open up these packs. Also, unlike other expansions, it only contains four cards instead of five, and you are guaranteed a rare card every time.
Mega Rising[edit | edit source]
The first B set. It introduces Mega Evolution ex Pokemon into the game. They are really powerful, but if you somehow manage to kill one of them, you instantly win the game.
Features[edit | edit source]
- Wonder Pick - You pick a card that someone else opened, mainly any of the newer ones. Sometimes there's a chance to sneak peak into one of the cards before you pick. There are also ones where you can get a promo card that you can't normally obtain.
- Battle - If you get 3 points, you win. The battle system in this game is probably more fitting for beginners. There's also chances to get promo cards as well. You can also customize your deck with coins, card sleeves and placemats.
- Social hub - Features display decks, which feature your card collection, binders, which contain more cards than display decks and you have a maximum of how much you could put in the social hub.
- Trading - Originally, trade hourglasses and tokens were used. Because no one wanted to use trade hourglasses and tokens to use such a simple task as trading, it was finally replaced with shinedust.
