- Well, as I see it, if Gene Roddenberry was so smart, the Vulcans (living in the most suppressed society in fiction) would be completely intolerant ethnocentricts. The federation (with their ultra-tolerant ways) would be more like pirates than a military operation (with some kind of Galaxy Police like Tenchi... the Vulcans could do that except they'd be too high-and-mighty to bother with the obviously inferior humans). So, in the end, Roddenberry had some cool ideas, but Asimov's Foundation rocks the Casba.--<<
