This may sound ridiculous. You probably don't believe me. But I'm serious. This is not a joke. I decided to visit Forum:How do you imagine other users? (Fifth year anniversary) and my Antivirus said the page had detected malware on the webpage!!!!

I'm to scared to go back on it. You may want to check it out. I use McAfee so my Antivirus isn't false. I just wanted to warn everyone. - LOL vandalz

Logical explanation

I think I know the problem, because I'm hearing a lot about just this sort of thing on other sites. Embedded advertisements. Most of them use JavaScript for fancy animations and crap, but certain people like to use that capability to do what's called a drive-by download, where the very act of loading a page causes a background download, usually adware or viruses. Antiviruses with real-time protection and browser integration, such as Microsoft Security Essentials, are pretty good at catching shit like this. And if you're really paranoid (and you also use Firefox), try AdBlock, or at least NoScript. Both of them will keep ad-based and other types of untrusted JavaScript from running (and AdBlock will obviously block you from viewing the ad itself as well).
