Nominated Idea

I made a new award thingy that is almost a combination of VFH an UotM. Instead of nominating good articles, you nominate crappy articles, and see vote for which piece of crap is better. Well, articles that are not very good or crappy, but do provide some humor and is good in some sense, like my Worst Article Ever, can be nominated and voted and become knowabl on Uncyclopedia. What's the point in nominating poor articles for anything except deletion? Perhaps some kind of system to spotlight one article per week and have some incentive to clean it up would be worth discussing. What you have here seems to be a mechanism to perpetuate the poor state of articles by having people deem them to be crap, dishearten the authors of such articles (especially if their attempts were sincere) and encourage the idea that writing articles that are "so bad it's hilarious" is on a par with writing something new and original, after all when it comes down to it, most intentionally bad articles like this aren't great because all their elements are intentionally poor, that doesn't make it brilliant. I'm sorry to come down so hard on the idea, but I just don't see the benefit for the wiki. --ChiefjusticeGameBoy 22:07, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Well, is not just for bad articles, but things that cannot seem to get on the front page. I'm not saying nominate bad articles, just the ones that can't seem to go anywhere. I personally think that you should scrap the idea. If you want to be successful here then the best way to do it is to write well and, if that isn't your thing work hard on something else. I've noticed you've come up with some similar ideas for groups and awards, you should focus your attention elsewhere, and, in future if you decide to come up with more, run any ideas past an administrator or an experienced user before you start planning them, it will mean you spend less time working on something that you are then told to scrap. --ChiefjusticeGameBoy 07:45, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

Now Rewrite of the Month

After deciding that Chief was right (as always), I decided instead of scrapping I will just change it to something else. Now, after much thinking on what to change it to, I decided to change it to the Rewrite of the Month. Look at the link. I think this idea has some serious merit, although some of the qualifications might need some fine tuning. For example, the qualification of "It had previously went against HTBFANJS" would be a bit too subjective, with people bickering and arguing about what exactly counts as unfunny/stupid. I think you are putting too much effort into finding awards and voting pages and not enough effort into writing. We have at least three groups doing rewrites (IC, Der Germansoudinggroupofguildy and the UnSigma something). We don't need more voting pages, we don't need more awards, we need more quality stuff. IWK, I suggest you follow Chief's advice and take a break from awards and voting and forums, there's plenty of other things to do around. Did you consider helping with IC?
