Wow! okay, so I was bored at work, and decided to do my duty as a registered user and patrol the recent changes. My eyes are now officially bleeding. I didn't realise just how much crap you admins have to put up with... so have some Kudos on me... -- Soul101 ~MAREPENT! 15:11, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Great. You're fired by the way. -- Brigadier Sir Mordillo GUN UotY WotM FP UotM AotM MI3 AnotM VFH +S 16:06, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
WooHoo! wait... is that a good thing? -- Soul101 ~MAREPENT! 21:25, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Now you know why some of them are so twitchy and quick on the trigger. They weren't like that before. I remember buying pot off them in high school. Now they're all "clean cut and fly right", <airquotes>responsible</airquotes> and <airquotes>contributing members of society</airquotes>...bah! Still, those were some good times, back then. Kinda wish I could remember them.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 21:53, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'd say the problem is that there aren't near enough admins to handle the sheer crapload of content we get, and as such the admins find themselves having to do waaaay too much work. If we had more admins, the workload would be more balanced and they might even have time to enjoy the wiki, have fun, and even learn what it means to have emotions... --User:Nintendorulez 23:34, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah. Famine put it best when he says that he deletes crap more than he writes content. Someone ought to give admins like him a break and give them more time to read and write articles. Admins work so hard (sometimes a bit too hard) to make sure we have a high standard of content. Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 00:11, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

This page and this page put it best, I reckon. And yeah, it can be a thankless and tedious task in many ways, but I personally put the time in because I want this to be a site I'm proud to be associated with.
“As much as this is an open wiki, this is my house. I clean the floors. I take out the trash. I kick out the combatants and the hate mongers, and I hang up on the telemarketers. I toss out the people kicking holes in the walls, and then I fix the holes. I straighten the furniture, dust the mantle, and unplug the toilets. All so that you don't have to.”

- Famine does a good job overall, methinks. He's probably the most misunderstood person around here. Everything he does is in good faith. If he just blindly deleted articles, it would be different. But he doesn't do that. He aims at something and eliminates it. Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 01:25, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Soul, good job. You have made a disicion that will haunt you forever. Sometimes, at night mostly, I'm sure all of wish we had never clicked "Recent Changes" that one time, seen vandalisim, and reverted it. It is a slippery sloap, and you just slipped. --Sir Zombiebaron 00:39, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm addicted now! is their a Recent-Changeaholics Anonymous group around here? meh... it sure beats my actual work! -- Soul101

For some really good reading, skip Recent changes, and flip through Special:Log/delete instead. Just for fun, count how many deletes there are over say... a 3 day period. And if you know a good drycleaner that does hipwaders, leave their number here. ~ T. (talk) 01:18, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- 494 from the 17th-October to the timestamp... kinda puts the whole "be nice to noobs" campaign into perspective. It should be "be nice to noobs who are nice to you first!" -- Soul101

You realize, of course, that when you say "his" name three times, he will appear. I count three, so far. I hope he brings cookies.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 01:30, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Are admins paid money for this work. If so, is it impolite to ask how much?-- 19:44, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
You should have seen it before
If weeding through recent changes gives you more respect for the admins, you should have seen how bad things were back in the day. Imagine a world without NRV or where maintenance templates don't run out. Imagine a world where every page and every person has a different voting style. If you want some idea of the pain that people used to suffer, try taking a look at some of the older VFD, VFP or VFH archives. I have immense respect for the folks that were admins before and concurrently with me (which is not to say that I don't have plenty for today's generation, because I do). --Sir gwax (talk) 19:20, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yup. I wasn't there but I remember my granpappy tellin' us chill'n about back when keyboards only had seven "F" keys, and users all had incompatible punchcards. Am I the only person who finds it a bit odd that our calendar is so compressed, and improvement so rapid, that a year and a half ago is "back in the day". Not to minimize the contributions (past, present and future) of admins, but it's not like "back in day" means way back when mice had balls. I'm just glad that some of them are still around; alcohol hit the first generation hardest. Admins, that is, not mice balls.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 23:18, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- It is kind of weird, but weirder still is that I'm talking about 8-12 months ago. Also, I think the rapid improvement is indicative of two things: how awesome Uncyclopedia is and how awesome the admins are at any given time (at least the ones that haven't burned out or taken leave at a given time). --Sir gwax (talk)

- It is weird, and it is weirder still. But it's most weirdest that you said the same thing in your reply to my comment that I had made in my reply to your comment. It's most weirdest because your comment, due to the time compression phenomenon that I mentioned in passing, turned 18 months into 8-12 months. If this thread continues for a few more days, we'll be talking about how primitive things were way back on Tuesday.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 16:55, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ahh, that halcyon Tuesday. Things were different back then, before all this new-fangled stuff ruined 'em. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 18:26, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
