Forum:Lonch a noo "Bad Speling Policee."
If there was one thing in abundance on Uncyclopedia, it is fucking dumbassery. My spell-check becomes an impromptu Christmas Tree when I check articles.
So Admins, do you want less on your plate?
Would you like more time to do the more enjoyable things, like banning asshats and creating kick-ass articles?
Then give these stupid fucks a "Bad Spelling Policy."
This policy would have it so if a noob misspells frequently within their first month here (one time to 1.5 times, I'd say,) they get a template on their userpage that chews them the fuck out about spelling and what dictionaries (and Wiktionaries) to go to in order to not be fucking idiots. First ban should be 2 weeks or a month, and if they try to remove that template from their talk page (through using another name or IP,) then double their ban. If they somehow remove it with their banned username while banned, then pardon them, and maybe even nominate them for admin if you'd like.
As for the better-seasoned users here- either lesser bans or just that template, depending on your personal opinion of the said user. I'd make that template myself but I'm going to play EVE Online now, so maybe some other time, or you can do it.
PS: To scare the living fuck out of would-be bad spellers, put up a warning about it somewhere they can see; maybe on the Main Page or the Welcome template. --YAAM 01:10, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- OH WAIT! I HAVE A BETTER SOLUTION! Let's have a "spelling week"! Because we don't have enough weeks of the year that belong to Uncyclopedia maintenance. And then we'll ban all the unfunny people. Actually, that last bit doesn't sound half bad... – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • critchat) 01:14 Oct 23, 2007

- ...but is it really a problem to begin with? Far as I've seen, most of us here are decent spellers- except, of course, for your average anon IP, and we all know where their misspellings end up. --Andorin Kato 01:33, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Spelling is always a problem with any wiki. Human error, is of course, abundant. However, I quite like the Live Spellcheck on Wikipedia. Perhaps we should look into such a feature for Uncyclopedia to help improve quality. --EMC [TALK] 01:47, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- Or switch to FF. I doubt that either will find bad grammar, though. Even Word's helpfullness falls down a bit there ("passive voice"? I'll passive voice you, piece of software!). Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:20, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think there's a version of that somewhere round here, I used it once. Ah, here. I'm not sure if it still works here or not. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 02:24, 23 Oct 2007

- No, you can't haz speelchek. Not yours. Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 02:49, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- There's really no need to be able to spell to contribute, and it's a wee bit offensive to dyslexics to say that it is. The beauty of wiki is that someone else can clean it up for you - we even have Ceridwyn's Proofreading Service to help, although I don't know how much it's been used recently. Add Template:Proofread to things, spelling fans! -- Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 08:50, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
