Just a heads-up, and feel free to move it if this isn't the correct forum: Climate change has been used over the summer merely to chat (just reverted), there's nothing much to it, it's not very clever, it's one-third dumb list, and no one is taking care of it. I'm caring for Global warming and have gotten all the good stuff into the first half.
Starting over is the only good use for Climate change. A clever IP last week spent an hour trying to reinvent Global warming as straight irony (mankind has decided warming would be good) rather than its present theme (a cynical review of both sides). I reverted him and suggested to him that he use his approach to remake Climate change, but he hasn't been back. Failing that, Climate change should become a REDIRECT. - Global Warming is a vicious lie promulgated by Big Green to smear the good work of our many oil and coal companies. Start there. Also, petition the government to bring back the carburetor and leaded gas. Lastly, I didn't read what you wrote. I'm pretty sure I got the gist of it from the title, hippy. Feel free to continue the above, uh, give-and-take; but let me ask my original question more briefly: Even assuming someone could rewrite Climate change to give it some value, do we really want two articles on essentially the same subject? haha! I finally found an article I can do! I'll work on climate change, giving it the topic of the man-created and man-wanted kind of idea. I would have written it sooner if I knew we didn't have an article with that already. I've written a few satirical essays for school on that subject already, so I even have research and crap to back me up! Woo hoo! But don't take this as a reason not to kill the crap article. - I'm in no rush and would be happy to simply see you supplant what's there right now--unless someone takes up the above question and gets consensus that Climate change is necessarily a duplicate, maybe even before you finish. Do read Global warming and Global cooling so you don't repeat what's already there, unless you intend to. - Actually Climate Change is the correct term and Global Warming and Global Cooling are incorrect terms and more politcal than scientific. Climate Change has been going on for millions of years perhaps billions since the Earth was formed. We had an Ice Age and Heat Waves long before human beings learned how to pollute. Global Warming and Global Cooling are theories that human beings are 100% to blame, not nature, not sunlight, not Volcanic activity, etc. It would be interesting to write the Climate Change article in the way that Glenn Beck or some other right-wing talk show host would write it, just to be different from the Global Warming and Global Cooling. Be sure to mention that Al Gore was a D- Science student in college, and that ACORN, APOLLO, The Tides Foundation, and George Soros and those American liberals have all conspired to rig temp readings in a vain attempt to manipulate oil and gas prices and force Communism on everyone via the Cap and Trade program. Be sure to add in the Conservative template or This Article is writing in the Style of Glenn Beck template or whomever you are emulating. Poe's Law can be funny at times. - Benefits of Global Warming? Summer all year long, no more ice glaciers to make way for more water skiing, the death of extinct animals like polar bears just make room for more people, due to the heat there will be more hot naked women for the men and hot naked men for the women, no more racism as the thinning ozone layer gives everyone a sun burn and everyone's skin is lobster red, no more need for gas or electric ovens as we can fry eggs and hamburgers etc on hot concrete, those annoying people in California and New York will be under water giving new coastland to Nevada and Idaho in the West, and Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee in the east coast, the world will finally have world peace as it becomes too hot to fight each other anymore. - I agree with Orion Blastar on reality, but let us please discuss comedy. My Global warming is already biased to the right--not so much so as to require a satire disclaimer--as it takes a big bite out of Al Gore and "scientists" and only small nibbles out of greedy businessmen, Sarah Palin, and Vaclav Havel. Pwnerator has a better idea for an alternative article.
- PS--We dealt with the existence of Pimp and Pimpin' earlier in the week (the latter now points to the former). It turns out we had articles on FORTRAN and Fortran, both active a couple years ago but less so recently, both mixes of humor and gassiness. There is no policy issue
It turns out that multiple articles with different viewpoints are explicitly endorsed in UN:HTBFANJS#When Writing Nonsense, be Consistent (fourth bullet). Opening this broadcast may have been useful in inducing Pwnerator to volunteer, but there is no policy issue. Spıke ¬ 10:56 21-Oct-09

- I agree with Spike that the "scientists" who "study" "facts" and "actual data" to make "logical conclusions about the future of our planet" need to be taken down a peg. If global warming is really happening, why is the weather getting colder in the entire northern hemisphere right now? Explain that, "science!" - T.L.B.
