You Minded the Gap with a DIV--but there's got to be a simpler way; all we are trying to do is modify one of the assumptions of the Wikitable. Also, do whatever you want with the font size; as I told you elsewhere, I'm running with a big load of local CSS and a small display. Ideally there should be, but one of the things tables automatically do is add a tiny space in between the boxes. Even if you specify cellspacing, cellpadding and the box's margin as 0px, it'll still be there. Anyway, about {{Taxobox}}: the issue with the image field is that I want it to be able to use just a bare image name in the future, while still being backwards-compatible with [[Image:]], [[File:]] and external-file methods. Amy Winehouse page

Delete the Amy Winehouse page it is utterly vile in every possible way. Uncyclopedia articles are supposed to be funny not just stupid that's all that article was it was just stupid. Why does Amy Winehouse suffer so much abuse from this website when other musicians articles joke about how awesome they are or at least poke fun of them in an affectionate way. The Amy Winehouse article does neither and it is really vicious and not in a funny or even accurate way. It calls all of her music shit, says she was so ugly not even desperate men would fuck her, says that she is a whore a slut deserved to die and makes a joke about her having a miscarriage so thats funny to uncyclopedia is it making jokes about women losing their babies. Why do you want to joke about stuff like that, anyway I vfail to understand why of all the things you could make fun of someone for why would you want to make fun of someone for losing a child?. That's not like Monty Python or Peter Cook actually making cutting jokes towards religion or the establishment the higher ups in society. Wow women who lose babies, great target you went after there those bitches who lose their children annoy me so much bout time someone stuck it to them. Amy Winehouse deserves more she was a huge talent and hugely successful no one thinks of her as a bad singer so many other singers from Alice Cooper to Adele to Mick Jagger all thought she was great, don't try and tell me Love is a Losing Game or Back to Black are not great pieces of music. I fail to see why she should be so persecuted and called a whore and given any credit or due just because she did drugs, who hasn't done drugs Jim Morrison, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie etc. I think this page is misogynistic making jokes about her not being able to have kids her being a whore all just because she did drugs you wouldn't dream of saying that shit about a male singer who did drugs even Sid Vicious who killed someone gets off more lightly from you people than Amy.

Eh, it doesn't look like such a bad page to me. Also, you shouldn't expect there to be any logic behind which article is written favorable towards its subject and which one isn't. They're all written by different people, all with different concepts for what they wanted their article to be like. Mattsnow's template bug

I can confirm it's an issue on Chrome/Iron/Chromium. If you like, I can take a whack at it; I believe the solution is removing align="center" from the table in {{VFH}}, and adding "margin:0 auto;clear:both;" to the inline style declaration. Still overlaps. If you have Windows, I would recommend grabbing IronBrowser portable (from some weird company called SRWare). It is basically Chrome with the branding removed. It doesn't install anything, and is malware-free. Like most browsers, it has a Document Object Model manipulator, meaning you can view the HTML behind a page and fiddle with it; you can open it by hitting F12 (example.)

The two categories in question are predominantly meant for the user's own article, Glaceau. If a new user had been spamming a couple dim-witted self-made categories and the humour value of the articles he's adding the categories to isn't positively influenced by this, I'd take it upon myself to revert the user and delete the categories. However, if an author creates categories for his own article (and especially if it's a decent article), I don't consider it my place to dictate what categories a writer is allowed to use. Looks like you just got lucky and the empty space between the thumbnails aligned perfectly with the horizontal line associated with the section header. I just stumbled on another one... At least it seems I am the only one to have this problem. I have Chrome as you can see, my computer is only 4 months old and very good, just ran NORTON pro and cleared the 2 viruses... It happened to me once on Wikipedia though. I mean, is there any specifics on the computer or my settings that could help you solve the problem? It's not like it's that bad to me, but maybe some readers have that too. Seriously, to diagnose this bug: (1) locate the Firefox file userContent and temporarily change its name. Then (2) save the page to your hard disk, and edit it, chopping away at the HTML to find the simplest possible code that causes the failure. The thumbnail and the template would be DIVs, and there are ways to command DIVs to overlap if that's what you want, such as custom stuff in userContent. Spıke ¬ 19:34 13-Jun-12

Socky, Spike: I can confirm that Matt's issues occur in the most-recent versions of Chrome/Iron/Chromium (see my comment above), so if you folks aren't seeing them, it's because your browsers are out of date. I think it has to do with Chrome finally stopping support for outdated HTML syntax -- you know, those tag attributes like cellpadding and align which the W3C calls "deprecated". "Deprecated" means "this shit may be supported by some browsers for backwards-compatibility, but it is no longer a standard, so don't count on it." A lot of the templates on this site use deprecated HTML -- see {{Quotation}}, {{VFH}}. And there's no easy way around it, because the current CSS standard doesn't supply proper replacements for those old markup attributes that worked so well. ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Thu, Jun 21 '12 21:39 (UTC)

Actually, it's very easy to add content. Watch this: Hitler, Grue, Chuck Norris. Carly Rae Epsen was raped by Pikachu. The issue is that it's much harder to add quality content. If Socky, or any other admin, or the majority of regular users, removes content, it's usually because it falls down on HTBFANJS. I'd suggest you read through that guide and try and work out why something was removed. If there is a particular edit that you are unhappy about, then it's better to raise it civilly and non-confrontationally, and ask what the rationale was for the removal. Was this the Italy edit? If so, I have to admit I agreed with the removal. It could be funny, but in context with a greater whole. It did clash with the remainder of the article. For instance Crossbow is funny, Salvador Dali is funny, and A wizard did it is funny. If you tried to put the three of them together it would clash, and lose the funny from the three of them. Again, this is all subjective, but any QC has an element of subjective. Maybe a new article on Rome would be a more appropriate idea. A request

Greetings and salutations Dr. Socktopus. Could you possibly do the following:

1. Place this line in your <skin>.css file: @import "http://uncyclopedia.org/index.php?title=User:Bizzeebeever/styles/navbox.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css"
2. Refresh your cache
3. Visit this page: User:Bizzeebeever/Template

If you do, you will see what SPIKE and I were cooking up. (Pardon the color scheme, I know it is quite vomit-inducing.) We have just two problems:

1. That css code, which was lifted directly from wikipedia's Common.css, would need to be in the site-wide css file in order for it to work for everybody.
2. There already exists a {{Navbox}} (which you modified). However, that navbox is a bit out-of-date, and doesn't have all the fun features and simplicity we need.

The problem with the nasty li'l blighter is the .hlist class. It turns lists into horizontally-laid-out things. Unfortunately, MediaWiki < 1.20 returns the html as follows:

<li>
list-item here</li><li>
list-item here</li><li>
<!-- and so on. -->

As you can see, that blows up in some browsers because of the .hlist li rule (or some such): white-space: nowrap. Version 1.20 puts the line break between the elements. This is my best guess, anyway, comparing our version with wikipedia's. There are two ways to fix it: 1) comment out the line in Common.css where it says .hlist li { ... white-space: nowrap ... }, or 2) just use bullet lists. Horizontal lists are simpler, but...

Anyway, I changed {{Scifi}} back to the old bullet list. Fixed now.

You would just want to comment out the white-space: nowrap; line under the .navbox .hlist li { rule. All the others are ...rather important, I presume. And it's really not necessary. The bug only shows up when you try to use the .hlist class, instead of using the good old {{·}} template. Yeah, but I think population size is not anywhere near as important to a country's Olympic success as (1) the emphasis they place on Olympic competition, and (2) how well-funded their sports are. As an example of #1, just look at the vast disparity between China and India, with their comparatively-sized populations. Also, look at the historical successes of Jamaica, Kenya, Kazakhstan and Romania in their niches of sprinting, long-distance running, weightlifting and gymnastics, respectively, despite their small size and low GDPs. Now, #2 is close to impossible to prove, but it seems logical. Any country that has at least a couple million inhabitants probably has more than a few decent athletes. Well, obviously. A nation that attaches great importance to sport and invests a great deal of money in creating and supporting a climate in which athletes are idolized and encouraged to train their skills to be at an almost superhuman level will have better athletes and thus a better chance at winning gold medals. The point I was making earlier is merely that without a big population, your chances of performing extremely well (i.e. well enough to have a chance at winning a gold medal) in many different disciplines are pretty slim. Jamaica, for example, has great runners, but that's pretty much it. Belgium has had world-class female tennis players for decades, but that's pretty much all we excel at. Quick question for you

So I've recently noticed that if you enter certain usernames into the search bar, if the username is the same or similar to an article, it will just automatically send you to the article, even if you type User:"fillintheblank" exactly the way it's supposed to be. Is there any way you know to get around that? I know that it seems like a silly thing, but especially on mobile, it basically makes it really difficult to visit certain userpages. Well, if you delete the page and then restore it, you have the option of not restoring particular edits of your choosing. Well, my confusion is, how is authorship of a featured article considered? I wrote it when I was housebound, and have had a long respite from writing. Browser fix

Hello, long time no creeping around. Thanks for the fix suggestion, but maybe I don't know what "clear browser" means. I'm still having the problem of not being totally logged in, so I can't categorize or search, and I've refreshed and turned the computer off and on, and my tool drop down doesn't have a "clear browser" thing on it, so it's possible I've never done it. It's not the refresh button? That's what I always thought it meant. The bra on your user page is black, like the best of Bettie Page's clothes. Aleister 13:45 13-2-'13

When people say you need to clear your browser, they mean you need to 'hard refresh', as opposed to just just 'soft refreshing' (only clicking the regular refresh button). Hard refreshing is done differently on different browsers.
