You are in a medium-sized conference room, like you'd see in most Western office buildings. There is a water cooler on one side of the room, near a large glass window showing a view of Grueland. You see a round table in the center of the room, with a hologram projector on it. Six fold-up chairs surround it. There also seems to be two scuffed, golden executive chairs and nine tarnished, silver-plated office chairs stacked near the door. A hologram of Jedravent appears in the holo-projector and says, "NULL." The hologram disappears. You can start playing Grueslayer, load a save file, view the talk archives, view the Information Page, join the Grueslayer IRC channel that's not active and you really shouldn't use, or end it all. |
Get rid o' the Paris path[edit source]
Trar? Ya still there? Eh, if not, hopefully there's someone out there willing to do this for us: I'm thinking we need to re-write the Paris path entirely. Seriously, they have basically nothing to do with Paris and just generally suck. Anyone out there willing to rewrite 'em? (I think you should focus on the Scotland path, Trar.) BlueYonder - CONTACT
- Well, the Paris path is taking quite a while to get to Paris...I say we just nuke the Paris path, or have it as a red herring. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 14:06, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

- Hmm, it'll take too much time. In fact, I think there's a path in the Vegas section I'll have to make a red herring too (the one where the player goes to the penthouse). BlueYonder - CONTACT

Could somebody fix this?[edit source]
At Game:Grueslayer/ch4/vegas/resort/gate/shoot/loot, it explicitly states that the player is MALE. This is an olde-timey text adventure parody, keep that in mind, and therefore, the player has to be an Ageless, Faceless, Gender-Neutral, Culturally Ambiguous Adventure Person. Please edit that page to keep in correspondence with that rule, mkay? --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 15:18, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

I'M STILL ALIVE[edit source]
The reason i'm not around is because I moved and I haven't got internet at the house yet. I'd still like to work on Grueslayer, but it's inconvenient to do so now. When I set up my connection, i'll round up all the Implementors, review the game as a whole and try and have another go at it. PLEASE, i'm asking you to not delete it! Go talk to BlueYonder about it if you need any more input. I won't be available for a while, due to the fact that I can only get on the internet on infrequent library trips. Grueslayer has a lot of potential, but to realize it, all you need is a little patience. I don't want to see it die, not like this. If you're going to nuke it, at least think first. I worked on this game for quite a little while, it's been around since 2007, and I really, really want to start on it again. Cross my heart and hope to die, i'll start on it when i'm connected. Take my words into consideration! I and a few others think Grueslayer is one of the best games in the gamespace, because, in my opinion, it's funny, it's innovative, and it's green! It also has roots in Abyss and Zork. In summary, I wrote all this shit because I care about my game(and I WILL come back and work on it), and i'd like to see it survive the coming huffstorm. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 18:47, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
And if bad goes to worst[edit source]
If Uncyclopedia decides to move GS or get rid of it or severely alter it, i'll have to move it to a site created on http://editthis.info/wiki/. If this happens, GS will have an entire wiki to itself! If it doesn't, we can stay on Uncyc and still retain our history. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 19:55, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

Interesting happenings[edit source]
I am still very much alive, and I still very much want to continue work on this game. Unfortunately, I still haven't acquired the Internet at my house yet, and library visits are no places for editing Grueslayer. However, I do wish to point out some interesting things, if only for posterity and for future perusal:
1. Game:Abyss 2 has been deleted. Link here, just search the page for "abyss". It was apparently a victim of the game-huffing frenzy last March. I bring this up because it was another unofficial sequel to Abyss.
2. The original Abyss (which this game is a semi-sequel of) has a Korean version. Very interesting, and I plan to play it myself with the help of some sort of translator. It would be even more interesting of someone were to make a foreign version of Grueslayer.
3. Grueslayer is, as of this writing, 3-and-a-half years old.
I fervently hope this game will survive the coming huffstorms until I can manage to get it going again. I already have a list of new ideas for the whole game. I don't want to see this die. Admins, take heed! --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 20:27, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
- Also, this page sucks: Game:Grueslayer/hobo And that's just the tip of the iceberg of crappy, inexperienced edits by IPs and users (!) since we left this game up to dry. I'm not counting the PvP, the edits to existing pages, all the one-link or no-link pages that serve no purpose, and that piece of godawful shit that is this talk page's navigation system. I myself will be focusing on editing, revising and creating where necessary the auxiliary pages such as Game:Grueslayer/recent and the Grueslayer category intro, the templates, and the talk page system once I get back. Afterwards i'll move onto PvP, then start focusing on the actual game. At last count there were 848 pages, although that number should gradually lower somewhat due to revising, merging and QVFDing the crap. I'd prefer if we focused on cleaning up the existing stuff while brainstorming on future material, then start writing again once it's mostly cruft-free. We have a lot of work to do. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 17:22, September 11, 2010 (UTC)
- One example: Two old templates: GSI and GSI C. GSI gives the name of a random Implementor, and GSI C does the same except it lists Trar and Emmzee, the two "Creators" of the game. There is no need for GSI C, we could just add the two names to GSI and rename it GSName or something. It would require template-swapping on a large number of pages, but i'm sure we could manage. Then there's the simple matter of listing it on the info page, and the matter is finished. Of course, we still need to comb the archives for outdated templates that need to be dealt with; we often announced creation of templates in the talk page. I can't do all this right now, because i'm typing this from a library, but rest assured as soon as I get my own Internet connection i'll start really doing things. If I weren't still interested in this game, why would I be typing things like this every library visit? --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 18:55, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Then there's the matter of http://www.grueslayer.com/, which I last brought to our attention July 2007. This particular mystery hasn't been solved yet; the page still exists, but if you want more information go check out talk archive number 3. I don't know what to think of it; he presumably wanted to make a Zork-like thing or possibly his own text adventure. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 19:28, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Boy, oh boy. Man, I'd be spending every minute of my day on this if I had the time. University is killing me. Anyway, I honestly do hope we can pick it up again. I guess I could start by getting rid of the amateur edits. Once I find the time. -- BlueYonder - CONTACT
- Well, I've cleaned up a few links. Now if we could only see about some new content... BlueYonder - CONTACT
- We still got a lot more to do. I'm still not yet in a position to begin work, but you never know. I've been studying up on interactive fiction as a whole, really. Mostly looking at Infocom and their games. I found this document, a real fascinating MIT report on the history of Infocom. Of particular interest is the part about how Infocom failed; I believe there are some lessons to be learned here. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 14:56, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
- You could also check this out if you're bored. You might learn something! --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 15:05, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Well, anyway, I've cleaned up a few more links, so, y'know, at least we can say something's getting done. I'm really beginning to regret all those calls I made for help with editing Grueslayer, though; apparently people took "Please help edit Grueslayer" to mean "Please add a bunch of red links and some stupid pages filled with jokes about kittens and missiles that completely mislead players and wreck the game's continuity". -- BlueYonder - CONTACT
There is no more need for calls of help. You shouldn't have done that in the first place; it's adding more cruft that we may have to clean up when the time comes. Me and a few other people are beginning to draw up plans for revitalizing Grueslayer. If you want to do something, consider joining us at the ##arena IRC channel, or maybe cleaning up a bit of cruft for us. When the time comes, I will reach out and get in touch with former team members and see if they want to come back. I may or may not get new people like this. Time will tell. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 15:36, December 8, 2010 (UTC)
Clandestine operations network[edit source]
I seriously recommend that we use IRC for more of our discussions. Real-time conferencing would be a great help to us right now, especially for planning new areas and revising. irc://freenode/%23%23arena will be good; I don't want to set up a Grueslayer channel until we get the ball rolling. Getting onto IRC is fairly easy; I recommend Mozilla Firefox's Chatzilla, mIRC (if you can afford it) or the web-based client that is used for Uncyclopedia's channel. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 15:01, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
- We could do that, sure, but would there be anyone there besides you and I? I don't have a ton of spare cash, and my parents control my credit card... BlueYonder - CONTACT

Prepare the chest paddles.[edit source]
Grueslayer has been dead for too long, and the events of March 2010 and revitalization of the game namespace have given me slightly more resolve than normal to get this 5-year-old game back to life. As of this writing, we have only 2 remaining implementors: myself and BlueYonder.
Now I realize that i'm probably sounding strange for continually claiming that we need to restart Grueslayer yet not doing anything. I'll get around to it, hopefully soonish. If we're going to do this there are certain things that need to be done:
1. Delete the current game. The game started out fine and dandy, but for various reasons that i've probably outlined in the posts above this one, the project fell apart and the game stagnated. Now we have three incomplete game "difficulties" with so much noob/IP/vandal entropy it's pretty unsalvageable. I'm not saying the current game is bad (BlueYonder did his best to give life support to Easy Mode in 2009 and 2010, and there have been some great ideas over the years), i'm saying that we need to start over. The first order of business is to salvage good ideas and such, then get someone to delete many of the pages that comprise the actual game.
2. Revise the remaining support pages and templates. The main Grueslayer page, the main talk page, the recent edits page, PvP, the Credits, the save files, the More Information page and ALL the templates and categories...most of them are in a sorry state. If we are to efficiently start working on Grueslayer again then we need to look at and redesign ALL of the support pages and templates in the game. Case in point: the main talk page. The button thing started out as a nifty idea but now it's a mess. There's all this stupid shit about holograms and buttons and you have to read a wall of text to even know what the fuck to do. Things like that have to be improved.
EDIT: I do believe we should also take stock of all existing Grueslayer images and userboxes. Just to be sure.
3. Check that stupid "Creator" shit. That was a bad idea from the start, but I didn't realize it. I'm sure if you read the talk archives you might find an example or two of why the caste system sucked and how blind I was to the problem. From now on, everyone on the Grueslayer Dev Team is an Implementor. I am still a Creator, but all Creators do is oversee the game as a whole, see where it's going, make wide-spread decisions as well as the things Implementors do, such as editing, creating, revising, etc. I am the project head in a way. The only other person who is a Creator is Emmzee, the other co-creator of the game. He's disappeared i'm afraid, but he's free to come back and assume his position as Creator any time he wants. I wish he would.
4. Get a team. By this point we should have a fresh slate to make a new Grueslayer on and an improved support system and interface to do it with. We will need a good team of Implementors to help make this game the best it can be. I am looking for people who are good at writing innovative and somewhat humorous text adventures, and I am also looking for people who can create green sprite images. Those images are a fundamental part of the game and we will need them through the game. There should be a tutorial created by Emmzee somewhere in the early talk archives. Hopefully we should be able to get some of the old team back on board!
5. Start working on it again, making sure that it is a quality game. When we have a clean slate, a useful interface and a good team who know what they're doing, maybe we can actually start making the game! There have been many remarks about how common and unfunny text adventures are on Uncyclopedia these days. That's why we want to make sure that our game is at least somewhat unique and chuckle-worthy. Me and Asema (a friend of mine who is kind of good at writing and hopefully will join the team) have wrote some stuff about how we should go about this:
- The game needs to be trimmed. (at last count there were more than 800 pages) There are way too many pointless pages, dead-ends, blanket death pages, and more that hurt the game.
- Remove needless or unfunny deaths. I mean this one. Grueslayer/suicide or the various Grueslayer/*grue pages are all horrifyingly bad and horrifyingly misused. It smacks of laziness and adds nothing to the game. When the player dies it should be smiling. The generic deaths are okay once in a while, but they are to be used sparingly.
- Add genuine branching paths for the story that don't simply rely on difficulty. Have them even link up, or overlap in points. Hell, take a plotline and spread it across multiple paths so they all need to be played to get the full story.
- On that note, make the difficulty levels meaningful in that capacity, or don't call them that at all. If someone's playing on easy add fewer death pages and more in-game breezing through brain tumblers. If they're on hard make things harder. Don't arbitrarily vary the story by it.
- On that note, puzzles. Trying to prevent the player from cheating is ultimately fairly meaningless. If a sufficiently determined player wants to do it, let them do it. More actual game for the rest of us. So make sure to categorize every page and avoid adding "password protection".
- Actual passwords or obtuse solutions are okay occasionally. Let's make an example here. The player obtains an item called the "Killinatrix", which has devastating but random effects on the enemy, user, and environment. The player can use it by adding its name to the end of *any* page. Something like this allows for actual item usage and immediate variation in playstyle. It also lets you hide secrets.
- Remove references to the authors or their avatars. If they're there, don't have them be terrible. Subtlety is key here. At the very least, don't make it obvious or obnoxious.
- On that note, take advantage of any kind of humour you can. References are okay and you can make them to pretty much anything -- we often make references to the same pool of things but you can dig pretty deep if you want to.
- Above all, make the game fun. It's no fun for me to be walking along, doing something that seems reasonable, only to have that thrown in my face and myself, as a player, insulted. It is, however, fun for me to try waving about a protest sign in front of a bulldozer, and then having it unceremoniously run over me. Because I deserved every bit of it, and I hope that I get something funny out of it.
EDIT: PuppyOnTheRadio said to me that we should plan out more of the game this time around: "What I'd do to plan out a game is firstly to plan it out - what locations will they be in? What items can they have? Is the direction they are facing of import? I'd also look at the interface itself. Game:Alone in the dark was created to have a unique interface (for UnGames) and is part of the reason why it works so well. Map out what you plan to do and what storyline(s) the character can follow. A single page can have up to 212 different variations without having any random elements, so feel free to be creative."
I hope we can use this advice to make a game we can all be proud of. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 21:15, April 6, 2011 (UTC)

- Yeah. Too bad the goddamned hicks that I call my family disagree with Internet Rights. Anyhow, i've found a couple people that might want to help with Grueslayer: Lockdandload, PuppyOnTheRadio, Asema and you, Another n00b. I'm also considering asking Lollipop if he wishes to join us. When Grueslayer gets off the ground, there are a number of additional people who I want to ask to join us as well, including former team members and long-time Uncyc game implementors. Along with BlueYonder (who I hope is still around) and myself, I think we could get the first couple stages of the revitlaization plan done efficiently. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 15:24, April 7, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, Of course I'll help with Grueslayer! I already removed some vandalism and fixed some Various Spelling mistakes, So I can't wait to actually Help in the Game. The only problem is That Lollipop is now Online even less than you. He's slowly Churning, for some reason. I've been working on 2012 II for the vast majority of the Time, whilst he Gives out Lollipops. Talk about Teamwork, Eh? - LOL vandalz 16:08, April 7, 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, we've got myself, BlueYonder, and Another n00b (kinda bust with college stuff at the moment). Puppy has yet to respond and Lollipop is kind of busy with 2012 II. Asema will probably get back to me sooner or later. Tomorrow i'm going to start doing the plan. Hopefully. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 19:03, April 7, 2011 (UTC)
- As of now, Lollipop and Another n00b have volunteered to join the temp Grueslayer team. Puppy says that we should plan parts of the game in advance, like what choices the player can make, what items will be there, that sort of thing. Less playing-by-ear, basically. Puppy also says he's real busy and won't have much time to contribute, and I respect that. BlueYonder will probably come back sooner or later and help out, and I don't think my compadre Asema would pass up helping either. I'm going to start phase 1 of the plan later today. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 14:53, April 8, 2011 (UTC)
Part number 1 (mostly) completed[edit source]
I went over the game a little while ago, cherry-picking pages with noteworthy ideas and such that we may want to preserve. The list (along with my [unorganized and admittedly messy] notes) can be found at http://pastebin.com/K0c1NJSU (UPDATED) and I think you all may want to take a look at it. The Grueslayer Team as of now is me, BlueYonder, Asema, Another n00b and Lollipop. PuppyOnTheRadio hasn't said whether he wanted to join us or not but he DID advise me to plan out more of the game this time around (i edited his words into the main essay above).
Now, we have to decide what to do with these pages and if the ideas within are actually any good. Once we've decided what to keep, i'll probably copy the ideas over to a single page and have some admins huff most of the game itself (ONLY the game, not the support pages, save files, PvP - we'll deal with those when we deal with those). After that we'll get to part 2: editing the remaining pages so that they're actually USEFUL. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 18:43, April 8, 2011 (UTC)
- I found quite a few pages at the Far back of the index which looked like Random Gibberish, So I gave them a stern fix-up. I Don't know if There'll be of any actual Use. Anyway, Some parts of this Game has many Plot-holes (If there even is a plot). I like where Easy and Hard mode Go, however I think intermediate Mode goes into the Plug-hole Halfway through. Some of this game is Mediocre, But by the time I'm done with them there won't be a single un-Templated Page. - LOL vandalz 18:56, April 8, 2011 (UTC)
- Hold on there. We're not prepared to add new stuff yet, we're taking stock of what's already there and deciding what to do with it. And the page at the end that's called "save7"...you should really leave it alone. Trust me. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 19:00, April 8, 2011 (UTC)

HOW TO USE IRC[edit source]
We should all be using IRC to co-ordinate the development of Grueslayer. To that end, I shall show you how:
STEP 1: GETTING CHATZILLA: Install the Chatzilla addon for Mozilla Firefox. If you don't use Firefox then you should because it is the best web browser out there, and it also has the best IRC client out there. When it's installed, right-click the Firefox navigation bar at the top, click on Customize and put the Chatzilla button where you feel most comfortable with.
STEP 2: JOINING THE CHANNEL: Open ChatZilla and make your nickname by typing /nick nickname. Connect to the freenode network by typing /server irc.freenode.net, and connect to the channel we will be using by typing /join #[channel]. If you've done this correctly you should be in the channel! You could also simply click a link to the channel you want to go to if you have ChatZilla installed. Simply click the link, and once you're there all you have to do is choose your nickname.
That's the bare essentials. Read on if you want to optimize and make ChatZilla easier to use, which i'm sure you probably want to do.
STEP 3: REGISTERING YOUR NICKNAME: Registering your nickname will allow you to receive memos and reserve your nickname so people can't impersonate you (for long). To do this, make sure your nick is currently set to what you want to register, join an empty channel (/join POOTISPOOTISPOOTIS for example) then type /msg nickserv register <password> <email>. Verify your account by checking the e-mail that is sent to your inbox.
Once that's done, all you have to do to log into your new freenode account is to type /msg nickserv identify <password> when you want to log in.
STEP 4: AUTOMATING YOUR CHATZILLA: There is a chance you may misspell when you log into your freenode account. If that happens, your password will be broadcast to the whole channel, and you don't want that to happen. That's why you should go to ChatZilla > Preferences > Global Settings > Lists, click Add, type in /msg nickserv identify <password> and hit OK and Apply. Now you'll automatically log in whenever you open ChatZilla!
For added convenience, you should right-click on the tabs of channels you want to auto-join whenever you start ChatZilla and click Open This Channel At Startup. Now you automatically log in AND join your favorite channels!
I don't think I need to tell you that IRC lets us talk in real-time about all sorts of things, including the development of Grueslayer. Do it today! --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 19:24, April 9, 2011 (UTC)
- EDIT: While I was editing the above tutorial I noticed a notice that said the talk page is now 30 kilobytes long. Back in the day that would be my cue to consider archiving the talk page, but I think the overly long and complicated navigation system at the top of the page should be fixed and streamlined before we start archiving for the first time in three years - and we're also currently discussing some very important stuff. I'm going to fix the navigation system soon, probably today or tomorrow. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 19:31, April 9, 2011 (UTC)
- Erm, no the reason I can't go on IRC is because I'm banned there. (・A・) - LOL vandalz 19:33, April 9, 2011 (UTC)
- You're banned from using IRC entirely? That makes absolutely no sense; please elaborate so we can help you get on IRC. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 20:12, April 9, 2011 (UTC)
Question about Grueslayer[edit source]
- How many times has Grueslayer been accessed? I would be disappointed if it had less than 30,000 views. (゚⊿゚) - LOL vandalz 19:57, April 9, 2011 (UTC)
- There isn't a way to know how many page hits an Uncyclopedia article has. Grueslayer's been around since January 1st, 2007, and we've probably garnered at least a little bit of attention and controversy due to the game's reputation/history. If I had to guess how many views, i'd say 10,000 to 14,000 or so. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 20:16, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

- I'd had a little chat with someone who said Uncyclopedia Zork has Been accessed 90,000 times, But I doubt it. Also, the Japanese Uncyclopedia's translation of Zork has been accessed over 20,000 times, So I'd say that's how many views this has. - LOL vandalz 20:19, April 9, 2011 (UTC)
- I'd put Grueslayer's total OPTIMISTIC view count at 18,000 to 20,000. I also read that article of yours, and it...has a good concept, but I sincerely hope that's a first draft. I also think listing Grueslayer as the best game on Uncyclopedia is a stretch - the original Zork by far deserves the category over anything else. I would say Grueslayer belongs in the runners-up (second, third or fourth place), and that's only when we've actually begun writing the new Grueslayer. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 20:25, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

Lyrithya and me made an advertisement for Grueslayer[edit source]
It's embedded in Template:UnGameAdvertisement. It might seem weird making an ad NOW, but I wanted to get it out of the way first. I expect people who want to help edit Grueslayer to apply here, on the talk page. Remind me to add Lyrithia to the Credits. As for our plan to revitalize Grueslayer, I think me and Asema will talk about the ideas in the pages I selected and choose things we might want to consider keeping over the next few days. Tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, I should think. Then we will get some admins to huff most of the game and we'll continue from there. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 21:22, April 9, 2011 (UTC)
Update on the situation[edit source]
Another n00b has just been permabanned for sockpuppets or something. You'll have to get back to me if you want to know if he'll be missed. The list with my highlighted articles is still at http://pastebin.com/K0c1NJSU and me and Asema will probably be discussing it soon and posting our findings here. As of now, we have myself, Asema, Lollipop and BlueYonder (who hasn't popped around for a while) working to get Grueslayer back up. Hopefully we can move on to phase 2 by Wednesday or Thursday.
- Apparently the ban has been reduced to one month. Consider Another_n00b back on the list of temp Implementors. Asema and me still have to go over that list of mine at http://pastebin.com/K0c1NJSU and I hope the rest of you are brainsotrming some ideas. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 18:23, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
- I think after most of the game has been huffed i'll put every single remaining Grueslayer-related thing on my watchlist. Gotta keep tabs. I also think i'll be putting our more recent contributors on the Credits page, even if they were less than optimal (Another n00b, Lyrithia, Asema). I might make a new section for the new Grueslayer, I dunno. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 20:33, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
- I'm starting to Lollify the game, please restart Uncyclopedia once it's finished. -- Lollipop 01:48, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
- Wait scoose me wtf is going on? Sorry I've been out of the loop for something something years. A summary of whats currently happening and what I should be doing would be helpful. Gruekicker 06:12, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
- We're initiating a plan to restart Grueslayer. Step 1 is to take stock of existing good ideas and preserve them, step 2 is to get some admins to huff most of the actual game, step 3 is to rewrite all the remaining support pages, templates and such, step 4 is to make and organize a good team and step 5 is to make an awesome new game. We're mostly through step 1, me and Asema just have to discuss the pages I outlined at http://pastebin.com/K0c1NJSU and discuss the good and bad ideas within. The team right now consists of me, BlueYonder, Lollipop, Asema, Lockdandload, Another_n00b and Gruekicker. As for what you should be doing, I would suggest brainstorming new ideas for the new Grueslayer or something. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 13:07, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
- By the by, you're no longer the death page specialist. Doesn't mean you're demoted or off the team, we just have to make sure all team members can write for all places of the game. No "specialists", only Implementors (and me, the Creator). --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 13:11, April 11, 2011 (UTC)

just a heads-up[edit source]
Do NOT make any new content for Grueslayer now. We're currently trying to do the plan I laid out to restart Grueslayer which involves deleting most of the game. Any new content you put in now will probably be huffed. Just a heads-up. Me and Asema are trying to complete step 1, but he's always away when i'm around and i'm always away when he's around. Also, Portal 2 is being released in 5 days and i'm going to have to take some time off for some mandatory playtime once release rolls around :D --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 19:22, April 14, 2011 (UTC)
- Right, gottit. Good to see SOMETHING happening. What you huffing? -- BlueYonder - CONTACT
- Read the plan. Asema and I need to finish our discussions then we'll see about huffing 95 percent of the existing game. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 14:39, April 17, 2011 (UTC)
- Can't find the plan anywhere. Where is it? Is there a link on Grueslayer? And I'm real concerned about losing 95 percent of this game I worked for a long time on. If you guys are about delete everything, including some of that content I spent time adding, I'll have to save it, store it somewhere, and make my own game. Really. Because I can't bear the thought of all that work going down the drain. --CEDA 19:00, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

I'M BACK!! I'M BACK!![edit source]
What did I miss?? Also, when I called Trar a "redneck", I was just angry at the time and I hope you have not token that insult to heart. Well anyway, about Portal 2, why don't we add the Portal gun and the Companion cube as an easter egg?? - LOL vandalz 15:56, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
- I don't recall being called a redneck, but it was pretty hectic chat that we had (and I can always look through my logs). I don't take very many internet insults to heart; don't worry yourself over it. I don't think we should add any new content to the game as of now, and any new content we add in the new Grueslayer should be carefully considered and implemented, especially easter eggs. Any old sap can put a companion cube in the game, but it takes an experienced person to actually make it worthwhile.
- Asema and I STILL need to discuss the pages outlined in the pastebin document http://pastebin.com/K0c1NJSU (we've gotten through most of the easy mode ones, hopefully we'll be able to do the rest sooner or later). When it's done i'll paste the chat logs on pastebin and go through them to reach the appropriate conclusions, then we'll act on them. TL;DR: Don't do anything for now, we've got things under control.
- And my keyboard is broken and shitty. Backspace key went as I was typing this and I don't know how the rest will fare after 2 years of constant use. I gotta get it fixed sooner or later, at least for Grueslayer. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 14:18, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
Another_n00b has been permabanned[edit source]
Apparently the admins got sick of his poor grammar and decided to just huff the guy. Suffice to say he will not be editing Grueslayer any more. Also, it seems the Grueslayer restoration project is itself on hiatus - I have mostly myself to blame for that; got stuff going on and Grueslayer isn't exactly my job here. It's more of a hobby, a hobby i'd like to see live again some day. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 21:12, May 4, 2011 (UTC)
- Sad to see that. I'd gladly help fix it up. -- Lollipop - 19:44, 7 May 2011
it's been a while[edit source]
but i haven't forgotten. grueslayer will come back eventually. i'll have to restart it pretty much completely, and since i got a number of other things to do it might be a while still. but it will happen. eventually. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 20:17, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Grueslayer is now historically archived.[edit source]
Only took seven years, too. Apparently the (atill unfinished) game had slightly over 1,400 pages in total, which is a fuckton for an Uncyclopedia game. I imagine at least a fifth of it is IP cruft, though. Luckily, in today's automized age, bots did most of the heavy lifting getting pages revived and moved to my userspace. I just wish we could have managed a better game the first time round, but I'll get back to this some day. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 20:07, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
> Or Will You? User:Gruekicker 3.14 4:13, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think so. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 16:10, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Oh dear god that was fast. As you can see my old account has faded from existence, and imagine my surprise that after succumbing to a fit of nostalgia I find this place still existing against all odds. User:Gruekicker 3.14 19:55, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Yep, Grueslayer's on my watchlist. I had it revived and moved to my namespace a couple years ago, more as a memorial than anything, but I guess I like to keep tabs on it. To be frank though, I'm not sure I'll ever touch the Uncyclopedia version ever again. You can create your own spinoff if you really want to, and I might even help, but don't hold your breath on that. --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) 17:34, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
