Humour: | 8 | This is a very well done article, its full of funny and important stuff like that. But its missing a few things and it generally needs fine tuning if you want perfection, if you're happy with a generally good section but no perfect, feel free to skip this section. But I'll try and suggest some improvements and why they should be made. I'll also comment a bit on your good stuff, with that section by section thing that I do...
Introduction - Yes you have done this very well. I'm instantly drawn into your article as it has a very funny introduction that makes me want to keep reading, coupled with a good image that's humorous and well placed. Your introduction shows very good satire of your subject, which you should aim to maintain. Unfortunately it starts to fall back after that. History - A little bit unbelievable in my simple opinion, it needs a slight element of truth to it in order to be properly amusing to me. So maybe this section should be red-done in a slightly more believable content. You should try and follow the style of your introduction as that was genuinely funny. I look forward to seeing this done though, it has potential but a lot of random unfinished ideas. And a fair bit of unbelievable stuff. Music Has the Right to Confuse Critics - This section is good. Its quite lengthy to and is brimming with good ideas, it seems that you follow the style of your introduction, that you sadly lacked in your history section. But I beg the question that it may be to long and full or ideas to be possible to follow in some parts, a trim maybe? If you don't agree don't worry its the least of your concerns. The Electronic Can-Adian Acid Test - A little bit too quote based for my liking, quotes should be fairly brief with actually paragraphs and shit taking up the bulk of a section here. But perhaps that was intentional I don't know, I can't tell if so leave it the way it is, if not might I suggest cutting the quote length down and having more actually paragraph content? The Long Lost Half-Brother - Very good. A very funny way of telling about people stealing each others ideas in the music industry, I love it. However, could you add some links please? And some links to articles that dd some humor and effect to the article. This would be good to see. I'm Not Listening - I like the introduction joke, it made my actually laugh out loud it was quite creative. As for the rest of the section, its good but not great. It needs a little more fact basis than you are giving me. But its is in essence only a slight issue, its mainly alright. The image is also good, except I find the caption far too long to be amusing. It needs to be short and sweet. So yeah just fix the stuff I suggested and it should be ten out of ten worthy, then again maybe not, opinions do vary. And your opinion is the most important one by far. And no not because you are an admin, don't let that get to your head!) |
Concept: | 8 | Yeah well thus concept is pretty well developed, you show a good understanding of the subject you're writing about something that is good to see, but because humor and concept rely so heavily on each other I can't give you full here until the humor and its concept have been improved to a good enough standard. You know how to make it funny enough to make it a good read and possibly front page material but not quite enough to get perfect marks. Just mainly improve the humor and your concept should pick up as well. |
Prose and formatting: | 10 | Your formatting is dead set perfect really. You use a lot of links to other articles, whilst not being too over the top. No spelling errors that I could see, a reference list that's amusing and important and lastly images that have been well formatted in.
Bolding and italicing important text is also good. I love this article's good formatting. Definitely the strongest point here. |
Images: | 8 | Well I'll say you've selected your images well (well maybe one more... Just an idea), what it lacks in is quality captions. I think they just seem a bit brief in one cases, and in others a tad long for an image caption. A caption should a be a couple of lines maximum and 1 line minimum. Not 4 lines and definitely not 4 words just a suggestion.
I think perhaps the images going across more than one section isn't such a good thing, unless they apply to multiple sections, try and keep them just to the one, unless they apply to a couple of sections and keep them 100% relevant. I elected not to penalize you in the format section for this as it only needs saying once. So yeah good images, with not so good captions and a minor formatting tweek required. |
Miscellaneous: | 9 | My overall rating out of 10. |
Final Score: | 43 | I love it, either fine tune it and then feature it, or really just feature it now. I love it. |
