Play that funky groove thang: WOTM
Is there some way to feature the Writer and Noob of the Month voting more prominently? We need to get more traffic to those pages for it to really work. I'd like to have in on the front page in a noticable but unobtrusive manner. Any ideas? --Savethemooses 21:22, 22 May 2005 (EDT)
I likes the new sysop, I've been whining about the Noob award for a month!--slack 20:41, 23 May 2005 (EDT)
- Put it on beta, and vote. If it passes, feel free to move it into main. --Chronarion 22:32, 23 May 2005 (EDT)
- Okay, I put something on the Beta page. Anyone who feels like making it look nicer feel free. Otherwise, what's everybody's opinion on this? --Savethemooses 19:47, 24 May 2005 (EDT)
Personally, I don't see that the “requested articles” template is especially necessary or worthwhile. Perhaps we could replace it with the WotM template and relocate the links to “most wanted,” “add to stubs,” etc. Oh, and I like the WotM image. --Rcmurphy 21:15, 24 May 2005 (EDT)
Thanks, Rc. I agree with you on the requested articles thing. A link will do there. --Savethemooses 21:34, 24 May 2005 (EDT)
Okay, I put it on the actual Uncyclopedia:Beta page. Also, I replaced the requested articles box. Tell me what you think. Oh,and could somebody please fix the color of the box and the very bottom? --Savethemooses 23:37, 24 May 2005 (EDT)
Need more sysops
Ive been looking at the quick vfd list. Some of the articles that have been put on quick vfd is some of our more popular stuff. Which is alright, because I wont delete them. The real problem is, theres so many bad articles. I cant spend my entire day reviewing articles for deletions. I needs help! Save me Jebus! --Nytrospawn 16:51, 23 May 2005 (EDT)

Spammers
Looks like spambots are swarming Uncyclopedia right now. Look at the block logs at Ban Patrol and the Blocklist. --stillwaters/Talk 06:57, 23 May 2005 (EDT)

Sysop'd
Yeah, I'm teh op now. Could a veteran SysOp give me some guidelines for my duties? I don't want to do anything I'm not supposed to. Thanks, and thanks for making me an Admin! --Savethemooses 14:16, 22 May 2005 (EDT)
- Do as you usually do, if you see an article not even worthy of QuickVFD, just go ahead and delete it. But if you have any doubts, add it to VFD instead. Ban people that suck. That is, blankers, spammers, defilers, haters. 12 day ban for spammers, 48 hours per blanked page, other things, use your judgement. Finally, feel free to change Template:featuredarticle and Template:featuredimage if nobody else has changed it on the day that you see it. --Chronarion 16:38, 22 May 2005 (EDT)
- Thanks! --Savethemooses 17:35, 22 May 2005 (EDT)
I did my first Baleeted! The page was SAT, and the content was the phrase “HARD ON” repeatedly. Hooray! Gimme some sweet cuppin' cakes! (the foodstuffs) --Savethemooses 18:31, 22 May 2005 (EDT)
- That was one of the good ones! That's it, rescind his sysopping privileges immediately. --Rcmurphy 19:03, 22 May 2005 (EDT)
I was a sysop before that feature was even activated. My first tour of duty -> Cruft Force, fighting cruft where ever it may be. --Nytrospawn 16:35, 23 May 2005 (EDT)
Logo Contest!
I have accidentally lost the uncyclopedia logo. I'm looking for it now, and have some crap icon temporarily. --Chronarion 18:30, 20 May 2005 (EDT)
- Well, I can't find the source PNG file. So, LOGO CONTEST! Open to everyone.
- Frankly, I really like the crap icon (the giant “u” in blue), and officially nominate it for the new logo. --DWIII 21:37, 20 May 2005 (EDT)
- Gee, thanks. Though it sucks, and I spent like 5 minutes on it. --Chronarion 22:17, 21 May 2005 (EDT)
- I agree that it sucks, Chronarion :-P
- What we need is probably a parody of Wikipedia's globe, such as a garbage can with the letter “U” in various languages (which I could help with) spray-painted on it. Or a garbage can filled with all the puzzle pieces from the Wikipedia globe. Unfortunately I have zero image editing skills, so I'm hoping someone reading this who does have the skills likes my ideas or has similar ones.
- I never really got the potato, frankly. It was absurd, which is good, but it's not parody, which would be better.--Ahmed the Jewess 03:51, 22 May 2005 (EDT)
- It was one of those “hey I have nothing to do, i've got 10 minutes” kind of things. I like the idea of parody of Wiki's logo. I was thinking of puzzle pieces and a pair of scissors and glue or something. --Chronarion 16:40, 22 May 2005 (EDT)
- Giant “u” in blue? I see a flower... --Rcmurphy 22:11, 20 May 2005 (EDT)
- I see a “u” superimposed on a sphere, not bad compared to the old logo --Carlb 23:05, 20 May 2005 (EDT)
- Ah, the old logo. Well, I guess I wasted me some time. Curses! And I see the “u” now. Before all I saw was a big sunflower or something. --Rcmurphy 23:57, 20 May 2005 (EDT)
- The sunflower is whatever comes as default with the MediaWiki software? --Carlb 00:07, 21 May 2005 (EDT)

I like the original, I like the “U” crap logo, and Rcmurphy, that puzzle-potato is quite brilliant. Well done! And the idea of an image of someone “modifying” puzzle pieces with scissors and glue is priceless. If anyone has the talent, I'd give some mad props to see that. --Famine 17:44, 23 May 2005 (EDT)
- Either go back to the original, or use the puzzle-potato. That thing's awesome. --Algorithm 19:32, 23 May 2005 (EDT)
- I like the puzzle potato... though, can someone add scissors or glue to it? Preferably scissors AND glue. I likes. Can you give me the PNG source though? I need it as a PNG file with transparency. --Chronarion 20:21, 23 May 2005 (EDT)
- You mean, just the logo and not the background? I don't know much about PNGs. Do I have to do anything to make it support transparency, or whatever you're talking about, or do PNGs automatically do that? --Rcmurphy 22:09, 23 May 2005 (EDT)
- PNG's are basically improved gif's, and support transparency as gif's do. --stillwaters/Talk 22:25, 23 May 2005 (EDT)
- In photoshop, delete the background, and leave just the transparent layers. Then “save for web” as PNG 24, and check the box “use transparency”. It'll probably work. If there is no box, that'll probably work too. --Chronarion 22:34, 23 May 2005 (EDT)

Glad you guys like the potato. This is my...sniff...proudest moment. --Rcmurphy 21:19, 24 May 2005 (EDT)
- The Cyrillic character you have used for the potato is not the letter that would be used to spell “Uncyclopedia”, but rather, the letter pronounced “U”.
- The scary thing is that I had this very idea as I was envisioning the Wikipedia globe parody: every letter would be pronounced “Yoo”. I'm trying not to think too hard about what this means.

Postponed. I think it would be too confusing, and trying to find the code for this confuses me more. --Chronarion 15:09, 25 May 2005 (EDT)
Wouldn't it be a bit more Uncyclopedic to have “edit” changed to “improve”, “history” changed to “time travel”, “move” changed to “transport”, and “watch” changed to “spy”? Just a thought. --Evice 02:08, 27 Apr 2005 (EDT)

- vote on this. --Chronarion 00:22, 29 Apr 2005 (EDT)
- I vote no as it sounds a bit confusing (time travel = history is a bit weak) and pointless (move = transport is a waste of five extra letters for a function that's hardly used). I would, however, fully support changing “delete” to “huff”. --Machinecurse 04:31, 29 Apr 2005 (EDT)
- Yea I'd go for “article” & “yap”; “improve”, “archive”, “re-file”, and “hoard/unhoard”. Delete is fine as huff, but only admins will ever get to see it. And confusing to newcomers? This is the uncyclopedia - not exactly a site designed to make a whole lot of sense. Not that I want to discourage people from posting, but I can't imagine it would be all that bad if the learning curve went up a little. It would take all that much more effort for vandals to hack the place up. --Famine 18:37, 2 May 2005 (EDT)
Machinecurse, the reason I chose “time travel” is because it was once an April Fool's Day joke on Wikipedia. --Evice 20:20, 2 May 2005 (EDT)
- I forgot to mention that I support “yap” for talk pages. --Evice 20:23, 2 May 2005 (EDT)
- Against except “transport” and “huff”, because I think the joke would loose its funnyness with time. --Paulgb Talk 21:31, 2 May 2005 (EDT)
- As stated, changing “delete” to “huff” doesn't have much of a point to it, since only admins would be able to see it. --Evice 14:04, 10 May 2005 (EDT)

Blocking Users
It seemed to be a bug in mediawiki. I upgraded to 1.4.4. Block for joy! --Chronarion 18:15, 20 May 2005 (EDT)
How do I block registered users? Losersrus and Iloveloserz need to be banned, but I can't figure out how to do it. The Block IP page doesn't seem to accept usernames. --Rcmurphy 16:37, 16 May 2005 (EDT)
- As I understand it the protocol is to leave a note onUncyclopedia:Ban_Patrol with a quick explaintion of what they are upto.--Elvis 18:30, 16 May 2005 (EDT)
- Right, I'll do that. I just thought I might be missing something since I can block IPs without a problem. --Rcmurphy 18:37, 16 May 2005 (EDT)
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like super ops can do the blocking either. Let's see if chron has a solution; either that, or we're just missing something really basic. --stillwaters/Talk 19:09, 16 May 2005 (EDT)
- Uh, I feel like a retard, I don't know either. Does anyone know on wikipedia? --Chronarion 15:09, 17 May 2005 (EDT)
The way I do it on my small wiki is that I go to Recent Changes, where there is a "block" option. That doesn't help for people who haven't posted in awhile, or places like this with lots of edits. I'll see if I can think up a better way to block. --Famine 16:19, 17 May 2005 (EDT)
- Errr...is Special:Blockip what you were looking for? There's a "IP Address/username:" field there, and it seems to work w/ both. That is, on my wiki with MediaWiki 1.4.0, PHP 4.3.9, and MySQL 4.1.5-gamma. --Famine 16:23, 17 May 2005 (EDT)
- No, it gives an error message when you try to block a username, along with the message "Invalid IP address." There's also a third idiot now, Ilovelosers (no "z" on the end for this one). --Rcmurphy 17:04, 17 May 2005 (EDT)
Is there a page to view IP's that are used by registered users? --Nytrospawn 18:46, 17 May 2005 (EDT)

I propose haveing registered users be the only ones to make or edit an article dureing weeks when we have finals. --Nytrospawn 14:57, 16 May 2005 (EDT)

QuickVFD
QuickVFD is currently flooded with unresolved requests over the past few days. Is this a sign that Uncyclopedia needs more sysops or are the ones we have just not paying attention to it any more? --EvilZak 03:59, 15 May 2005 (EDT)
- I've noticed this, I've also wondered if it's worth spending some time going through Special:Shortpages especaily the first few hundred and deleteing or putting on QuickVFD(if it's worth it) most of them --Elvis 10:21, 15 May 2005 (EDT)
- Yah, I usually check on the QuickVFD every day to make sure its empty but over the last few days I have been slacking off. The amount of pages put on QuickVFD has also gone up a lot, which has contributed to it. And the nice weather means less time on uncyclopedia for me. You two both have good edit histories, and it seems we could use some more sysops. I think stillwaters can make people sysops, might want to ask her. --Paulgb Talk 12:39, 15 May 2005 (EDT)
- I've been in and out of town the past couple weeks, otherwise I'd have worked more on deleting entries. I think I'm home for good (i.e. for a few weeks, hopefully) so I'll probably be doing more edits and deletions. But yeah, QuickVFD is getting overwhelming. If we need new admins, I nominate Carlb. I don't think he's been here long but he's done a ton of small edits, categorizations and QVFD noms already. --Rcmurphy 16:06, 15 May 2005 (EDT)

The Guardian and Boston Herald discuss Uncyclopedia
"Uncyclopedia
Wikipedia, the communal encyclopedia, has met its match in Uncyclopedia, which may not contain useful facts but is a lot funnier. Popular sections include air guitar construction, amendments to the Laws of Robotics, and making up Oscar Wilde quotes. Where else would you learn, for example, that "In 1996, internet downloading officially replaced murder as the seventh deadly sin"?
http:/uncyclopedia.wikia.com" April 14, The Guardian
"Success, however, breeds satire. Diva directs your attention to Uncyclopedia (http://mrpalmguru.com/uncyclopedia), a wiki with attitude. According to itself, ``Uncyclopedia is an encyclopedia full of misinformation and utter lies. It's sort of like Congress or Parliament. Unlike Congress or Parliament, however, we do have a sense of humor.
Like those other wikis, readers can add or edit their entries, with gleeful disregard of fact. As in:
Teletubbies: Also known as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, led Notre Dame to two football National Championships between 1920 and 1924.
Burger King: The Burger Kings have ruled Burgonia since Emperor Whopper III went insane in 1738.
Phonics: One of the deadliest and most addictive drugs on the streets. It is said to get children ``hooked in four weeks or your money back. " April 8 Boston Herald

He wants it more than I do, and really contributes more than I do, and seems really in tune with a lot of other people's sense of humor. I'm just happy to have had an article featured already. Long Live the Basilica! --RadicalX 16:15, 10 May 2005 (EDT)

Make templates public!
Most of the templates on Wikipedia (including Stub and Wrongtitle) are public, while the ones here are private. Why is it that Uncyclopedia has private templates? --Evice 10:44, 5 May 2005 (EDT)
But as far as I can tell (List of Templates) only 4 are protected, SeeTalk, Stub, WrongTitle and VFD (ignoring message box and other such structural elements) if you realy, realy want to edit them wouldn't it make more sense just to lobby for the specific changes you want to be made to them rather than a blanket unprotect?--Elvis 11:29, 5 May 2005 (EDT)
- I just think it's odd that Uncyclopedia is the one out of the two to have Stub and Wrongtitle protected. --Evice 17:58, 5 May 2005 (EDT)
- It's one of those things that we don't want changed. Someone putting a stub tag somewhere and suddenly getting a VFD because someone was stupid isn't cool. And really, is there an important reason to want to edit those 4? --PantsMacKenzie 12:37, 6 May 2005 (EDT)
- I think that the templates should be unprotected. Or at least, they should start unprotected and they could always be made protected if they become a target of vandalism. The reason is that the templates should always be improved on. For example, the stub template had a problem around images before, and now it is fixed, but it took longer because a sysop (me) had to do it. I really doubt that all the templates now are valid HTML, but unless they are unprotected or we get a picky sysop, they will likely always be that way. No one is going to spend the time lobbying to get a comma put in or a quotation taken out. --Paulgb Talk 13:10, 6 May 2005 (EDT)
Over that last 12hrs, I've been trying to come up with a good "stub" picture for our stub template. I mean, wikipedia has the little puzzle piece, and I only thought if proper that uncyclopedia had something. Perhaps a potato chip or a cigar stub. Regardless, if you opened them up, I think they would get hacked on a bit. And hopefully goodness would come out of it. (Perhaps a better color for the stub, eh?) --Famine 17:11, 6 May 2005 (EDT)
- Stub? I haven't seen a "stubby" (short beer bottle) in years... --Carlb 21:49, 7 May 2005 (EDT)
I have unprotected the four stubs. However, I would much prefer trying to fix the articles rather than trying to mess around with the templates. I thought they were fine as is, so I locked them instead of encouraging people to mass change them. If I see that everybody is fighting over templates, i'll relock them, but I guess I may as well leave them unprotected for now. --Chronarion 01:56, 7 May 2005 (EDT)
- I vote for a short beer bottle...or a stubbed out cigar...Btw can we add templates, I've received a request for This article needs to be grown

This article may be Overly British
We can indeed add templates. However, adding them doesn't mean anyone will use them. ;) In this line, I added Template:Allstubs1 and Template:Allstubs2, while bored one night. They offer slightly more flexibility than the regular stub does. If you'd like to see them in action/play around with them, see Template:Stub1 and Template:Stub2. There are directions in the talk pages. It was my first real attempt and hacking wiki code, and isn't really meant for "production". Not that they wouldn't work tho. More of a time-waster for me.Also, it took me ages, but I finaly realized why it's bad to change templates: it screws up all the pages using that template. Really a no-brainer, but I was unable to think of that awhile back. After messing around making my own templates, I change my vote to "lock it down tight and test well before implimenting". --Famine 22:24, 12 May 2005 (EDT)
Deletion Errors
I went in to delete Lord Zarquon per VFD, but when I try, I get this:
Can't delete this article because it contains block-compressed revisions. This is a temporary situation which the developers are well aware of, and should be fixed within a month or two. Please mark the article for deletion and wait for a developer to fix our buggy software.
--Uvula Donor 08:48, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
- I'll look into this issue soon..--Chronarion 09:10, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
- I figured a redirect page would be better than using a template to mark these pages, so see Uncyclopedia:To Be Deleted. Feel free to edit the hell out of it. --Paulgb Talk 08:06, 8 May 2005 (EDT)
Apache setup slightly broken
The server appears to be serving gzipped, but not saying so in its output. I can get pages OK in Mozilla (logged in), but I get computer guacamole in Konqueror (not logged in). Others get guacamole as anon in IE, Firefox, Opera and Lynx, but wget decodes the gz files OK - David Gerard 13:24, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
- I'm also seeing gibberish when not logged in, but fine logged in (Mozilla Firefox)--wibblewobble 13:26, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
- OK. I just asked on #mediawiki. If it's working for logged in users and it's not working for anons, then, if Uncyclopedia is set up with Squid running in front of the Apache server, then the problem is likely to be that the squid is serving the pages gzipped but not telling the browser it's doing so. Logged-in users apparently don't get their pages gzipped, you see. Hopefully I haven't garbled very much and this makes sense in terms of Uncyclopedia's setup ... - David Gerard 13:43, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
- As a non-tekkie, your explanation makes as much sense to me as the guacamole, but thanks very much ;-)--wibblewobble 16:28, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
- Sorry. What I meant to say was that the axle-mangial geeble-geep is gerfuckered and needs a good solid pumping with a Tardis hammer - David Gerard 20:33, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
- Then let's catch the Squid and have calamari! --Repairman Jack 13:35, 5 May 2005 (EDT)

Database Error
I noticed that a few pages threw "Database error / Internal error" errors upon loading. One such page that I noticed this on was the main page. Pages which throw this error are not viewable (read: the page has the Database error text instead of the article text), however it is possible to view the article history or to edit the page. --bdanials 04:09, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
My quick experiemtn show that the problem occurs whenever a page is editied (although if you look in diff for instance the edits do seem to have been commited)m dunno if this is any help.--Elvis 08:40, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
It seems you can still edit existing pages but new ones don't work, again if it's any use to people.--Elvis 12:14, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
I ran over the database size limit and now all hell is breaking loose.. i'm working on it, hopefully I can fix it. --130.245.23.133 13:37, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- OK. temporarily fixed, I think. if you see a page with 'database error', regenerate the cur page by editing it with a space, and saving it.
- Mmm. It appears to have done the wacky MySQLism of the database eating itself. Can anyone else get past versions of articles? History is there but the versions themselves don't seem to be - David Gerard 18:01, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- I think the history's been zapped entirely for now, which could be a bad thing. --stillwaters/Talk 02:48, 4 May 2005 (EDT)

Here we go again with Rainbow Brite
New: Since the current popularity is to keep or rotate, any sysop that has an idea for the image is free to change it to whatever they like. I, unfortunately, an a schmuck, and am not unlocking the main page. Users wishing to submit an image for main pageism, should contact a sysop. Maybe you guys can set up a vote thing or something. --Chronarion 01:58, 7 May 2005 (EDT)
To clear this up, someone suggest a replacement rotation to a sysop.
- OK I'm trying with Uncyclopedia:VFP but am strugelling with format issues, if anyone can fix em, please do. --Elvis 10:37, 9 May 2005 (EDT)
- Repairman Jack sorted it yay. --Elvis 11:11, 9 May 2005 (EDT)
By popular request, here we are again with the Sauron/Rainbow Brite mainpage picture. Vote, thank you. I am neutral on it. However, out of curiosity, if you can, with your vote, please include your MBTI results. I have a feeling that it will fall along SJ/NT temprament lines for the Sauron haters, and NF/SP for the Sauron lovers.--Chronarion 02:09, 3 May 2005 (EDT)I like to dance dance! Ayiyi, My little Buttefly! Arrows keys show up, you hit arrow keys to win OK? I will live to fight another day, Bust a Move!!!
My head started to hurt (I'm also up watching the election) when trying to work out the votes, therefore I've split the votes into 3 Categories broadly, Keep, Drop or Rotate, lots have expressed interest in more than one option, when people have done this I've added their votes to all the appropriate categories (I've also added "Neutral" to all 3). If I've misinterpreted your result then please change your vote, equaly if you have changed your mind. Now all I need is a Peter Snow Swingometer.--Elvis 22:25, 5 May 2005 (EDT)
- The one unsigned vote belongs to PantsMacKenzie. He's an old-timer. --Rcmurphy 00:47, 6 May 2005 (EDT)
Not that I'm pimping for "rotate" or anything, but do Keeps & Drops negate each other? ;) --Famine 17:15, 6 May 2005 (EDT)
Quick question: if one voted "Keep / Rotate", would their vote count in both "Keep" and "Rotate" sections (thought: similar to 'neutral' but no vote for 'drop', therefore 2 sectons get to add vote)? --bdanials 05:15, 9 May 2005 (EDT)
- Yep thats the way I did it, as I said above if you think I've mis-interpreted your vote: change it. --Elvis 06:34, 9 May 2005 (EDT)

Keep/Rotate I like Sauron there. Rotating the image would be okay too. (ISFP) --AshyRaccoon 01:52, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
Keep/Rotate Perhaps make it an "Image of the Week" thing. Personally, I don't thing Uncyclopedia would be the same without Sauron greeting me whenever I come here. And...who cares anymore what Wikipedia is doing? I think Uncyclopedia has become its own beast. --RadicalX 08:12, 4 May 2005 (EDT)

Keep I only have a small voice, but I'd like to keep Sauron. She should only be replaced when a genuine challenger emerges, one that captures the essence of Unc in the same way that she does. Not bloody Mr T. --Commander Jameson 16:25, 4 May 2005 (EDT)Keep I really like Rainbow Brite. She's kind of the symbol of Uncyclopedia for me now. (INTJ) --Rcmurphy 01:22, 5 May 2005 (EDT)

Keep I've already grown attached to Sauron. Also, it isn't instantly obvious what's wrong from seeing the picture, any more than it is from reading any of the twisted text on the main page. Marshall Banana 20:09, 5 May 2005 (EDT)Keep: Sauron is excellent, in the Bill and Ted sense of the word and has become a really fundamental part of the main page (ESTJ) --Linnaeus 14:33, 6 May '05 (AEST)

Drop (Current Votes: 7)
Broadly drop Sauron from the Main Page and/or replace with an "Uncyclopedia in Different Laungages Link".
Neutral I'm fine either way. (INFP) --Chronarion 02:15, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
Drop/Rotate(as above) As I've said elsewhere as wikipedia dosn't have an image there I think it detracts from uncyclopedia, however if it must stay then at least change it (maybe a vote for popular thumb+ description from articles much like VFH?) (ENTP)--Elvis 08:29, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
Keep/Neutral 50/50, ultimately fine either way (INFP) --stillwaters/Talk 14:16, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
Drop. Maybe I just don't get it, but it makes the whole wikipedia parody thing weak ("ding ding! joke coming!" right at the top of the page). Featured article is already great for giving a little taste of exceptional humor, plus it fits the wikipedia parody. Sheep 21:35, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
Drop It should be replaced with a link for different languages on Uncyclopedia, like it is on Wikipedia. Of course, the language page would be fake or whatever. --Darkdan 22:41, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
Drop Either just get rid of it or make a fake language page made in a fake language. --Evice 00:00, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
Drop and replace it with something pretty. --Singingcamel 18:51, 11 May 2005 (EDT)

Rotate I have a fondness for Rainbow Brite, mainly because she (and her caption) are such a nice snapshot of Uncyclopedia humour. But there are many neglected hilarious image / caption pairs on Uncyclopedia. --CrunchyCapsicum 18:04, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- A second thought - perhaps rotate with different people being Lord of the Dance on different days. --CrunchyCapsicum 16:19, 4 May 2005 (EDT)
Keep I kinda like it... it definately brightens the page for me. It would be cool if a script could be used which would rotate which picture would be displayed for Sauron. (ENFJ) --bdanials 02:25, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
Rotate Sauron is great, but so are a lot of things on Wikipedia, and it just seems kind of boring for the front page image to be static. (And I'm not doing any stupid Internet test; I don't need a CGI script to tell me anything about myself.) --EvilZak 21:53, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- Well, no, it's not just any stupid Internet test; it's Jungian psychology. --stillwaters/Talk 02:15, 4 May 2005 (EDT)

Rotate I think the idea of showcasing an "image of the week" would be a great idea (including a link to the article it comes from?) It would make all the work put in by the photoshoppers more worthwhile --Freebasser 12:08, 4 May 2005 (EDT)

Hi
I have been paying less attention to uncyclopedia for a while, but now that I spend a bit of time here again, I see a lot of new names, and not very many old names. Who comes here a lot these days, old or new? Who has been running this place? --Paulgb Talk 21:57, 2 May 2005 (EDT)

I skim through here daily, but I contrib less far often than that. Since I'm fairly new around here, what is the "historical" edits per day amount? I see on the order of 200-300 edits a day, when I bother to look. Are we growing or shrinking? --Famine 17:16, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- Shrink, by google traffic stats. --Chronarion 23:09, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
I contribute about a page a day of my own, or a major rewrite. Plus several minor edits, but that's just me, someone totally obsessed--slack 17:25, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
I've been doing Special:Newpages patrol every now and then, particularly since Stillwaters gave me this REALLY COOL EXECUTIONER'S AXE for SHIT ARTICLES and it's just a WHOLE LOTTA FUN. Delete if it's stupid rubbish, mark patrolled if it doesn't suck irretrievably, leave if it might. This gives the impression someone's doing stuff - David Gerard 17:56, 3 May 2005 (EDT)

- I'm new here too, and liking it.. I'm just editing at "random", in brave attempts to hopefully improve/sillyify things.
