How about we block the uppermost 5% of editors from editing for a month(People who vote on the voting pages, win awards, are parts of any sort of usergroup/(re)writing group, or the people check the forums)? It'd just be an experiment. My hypothesis is, once that upper niche is opened up, there should be an explosion of editors who try to step up to fill said niche (just like mammals did after the extinction of the dinosaurs). Once the month is over, I'm sure the site will be better than we could have ever imagined with a good 100 (minium) new funny/helpful users. Most vandals will die out after the first week due to there no longer being someone who is constantly giving them attention by reverting/banning them. Any damage they did should be fixed by the new top contributors after the second week. The third week will see an explosion of great rewrites and great new articles all inspired by the ancients which are the top contributors of today. And the fourth week should see a settling where the new users either stay or leave while establishing new dominance of their domain. It makes perfect sense. Well, better than just blocking IPs from editing, as it has actual history (well pre-history) to support it, unlike the belief that vandals being deterred by after to register (which isn't the case as proven by NIGGER FAGGOT COCKSUCKER and others like Grawp).

Come on, it makes PERFECT sense. Magical! MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 03:00, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

To be a proper extinction, you'd need to ban 90% of users. Only then would the surviving minority have enough comedy niches to adapt in to for new and unexpected comedy forms to arise. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 03:47, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Actually, it'd be really interesting to try this. I would love to see what happens under the rule of anarchy. Would anyone step up to solve uncyc's problems, or would the wiki crumble under the weight of vandalism? FIND OUT ON THE NEXT EXCITING EPISODE OF UNCYCLOPEDIABALL Z! - T.L.B. What we need to is

Archive the whole wiki, so that only people smart enough to get around the no editing tab can edit articles. --Mn-z 16:46, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

You can get around the "no editing" tab? I do say, how utterly rediculous my dear boy. Woody On Fire! Wood burning.gifTalking Woody Stalking Woody 17:00, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Proxy Servers and IP Blocking

It is obvious what this place is when one peruses it and thinks about contributing. It's for fun, primarily. It's a writer, or un-writer's playground and dare I say it's a place where lurkers can take what they like for their legitimate commercial pursuits if desired?? "Commons" rights? What rights are those. The more sensitive around here should try to get a real writing job and see what editors, real editors, think of their masterpieces. Just a thought.

Plus, if someone wanted to get around banned IP's all they need to do is use a proxy server, which is what most trolls do anyway, all over the net, every day. Real people also use them to thwart government intervention in their life, which isn't a bad thing, nor would it likely be an uncommon thing for the kind of people attracted to uncyclopedia to begin with.

Isn't the "history" function on each account supposed to help one out if the item is removed?

In closing on this first point, I would like to add that this isn't the place for big egos. I actually saw someone asking for respect of copyright when they sign that away when they agree to the terms here. Hello?

How about...

we just block old users who used to write but now just hang out in the forum, pretending to be part of the site but not really contributing anything anymore? You know, like some user used to do before he died. If that even WAS his real name (I have my doubts, myself).--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 17:53, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. Also, the last thing I wrote is now a week old, and I'm in talks to get someone to do a collaboration with me, so I can't be the person you're referring to at all Brad. Nope. MegaPleb Dexter111344 Complain here 00:21, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, I'm certainly not referring to myself, who started my last article a mere 200 edits ago just 7 months ago.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 01:31, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
