Hi y'all! I was thinking of reforming the interface administrator role into something more suited as a "basic level adminning" role. This would mean letting interface operators edit full-protected pages. I think that implementing such a thing would be of great use to many of our users, including ones highly active with reskinning (e.g. Zombiebaron), ones highly active with templating (e.g. Zana Dark), and ones highly active with tinkering with the site in general (e.g. JJPMaster). Currently, interface operator status basically means nothing since it only allows you to edit common.js and common.css, as well as other peoples' CSS and JS pages; these are already full-protected so it's kind of nonsensical to keep interface admin in its current state. Please let me know whatcha think!

I've also added a secondary vote concerning whether interface operators should be able to protect and unprotect pages.  Cassandra  (talk05:44pm  April 1, 2021

I've also added a tertiary vote concerning deleting and undeleting articles. It's interface stuff after all! Maybe we could rename interface operator to more like "text operator".  Cassandra  (talk11:37pm  April 1, 2021

@MrX: Any way you can maybe explain why you reverted my closures and leaving this one intact? -Gale5050 aka Andrew5 let's talk! See me on WP! Do not click before August 23:58, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
@Gale5050: A. I didn’t see this one until just now. B. I’m not wild about JJP “closing” this, it’s not really something we do here. But if Lyrithya did in fact implement this, then it is over, and any additional vote would be meaningless. The things I recently saw you close were a joke vote which is by no means over (there’s no timetable there) and a few comments on Cassie’s protection request page. People can still add to that if they want, or Cassie can close/archive it if they want. Your closures were completely pointless and disruptive. JJP’s closure was pretty pointless but does have a little benefit. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 02:32, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
FYI, Lyrithya did indeed implement this, as seen at Special:ListGroupRights#interface-admin. JJPMaster 12:09, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
So what you're saying is that this was a bad, but not terrible closure. However I will note PFP is open on previously featured pictures so while any additional vote would probably be pointless, if the vote rapidly turns the other way it could change something. Lyrithrya can always uninstall something if the people don't want it, so I still say it should be undone, but with a comment saying already implemented. -Gale5050 aka Andrew5 let's talk! I still object to this closure and still believe it should be re-opened, albeit with a comment that it was already implemented. This can be undone. As such, this discussion is not over. -Gale5050 aka Andrew5 let's talk! See me on WP! Do not click before August 17:22, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

Does deletion even count as interface stuff?
