Idea for Image review service.
I'm sure everyone will have noted the recent problems with image quality going on at VFP. Some people have suggested that there should perhaps be a tighter process for featuring images. I don't know about that, personally, but I believe that some sort of equivalent of pee review for images might be of benefit.
To that effect, I have set up an image review service in my userspace. I am happy to give advice on any images people might post along with any ideas/concepts for images with any other users who may be feeling kind enough to pass constructive comment.
The potential success of this idea is up for debate. For now, at least, I would be grateful if users could spread the word, passing the link on to any users anyone thinks might benefit from this. Further in the future, if some good does come of the image review idea, perhaps it could be made more prominent. Any feedback, good and bad, would be appreciated. - As per the discussion in the recent IRC Cabal I'd love to see something like this implemented for a precursor into VFP, so that it really does become the best of the best. -- Sir Mhaille

- I added a link to it on VFP. If it gets some traffic it should probably be moved to Uncyclopedia:...I don't think something like this should be mandatory, but it could be useful. —rc (t) 15:59, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- The problem with this idea is that it is going to fill up with lonely images that people don't care about just like Pee Review. Another problem would be when you give a submitter some advice, he/she may not know how or be able to do it because of not having photoshop, not knowing how to use photoshop, etc. -

- I have noted that Pee Review has gone a bit stale recently. Predictively speaking, if the service stays in my namespace I certainly won't neglect it. If it does grow enough to warrant an Uncyclopedia namespace, I think there'd pretty much always be people willing to pass comment: there are enough people doing that on VFP as it is. Hopefully the idea will encourage people to move conversation somewhere else in a kind of communal way that doesn't clog up VFP.
As for the image creator not knowing much about Image editing software, this could be where some kind hearted Photoshop-literate Uncyclopedians could help out. - As someone who has Photoshop, but isn't all that good with it I think that this is a great idea. I have recently taken to having my images reviewed on IRC, and personally find this to be much better (as I can ask questions and get answers quickly) then any page could be.
