Band
A band is a criminal organization that extorts bar patrons for cover charges, then plays terrible and loud music no one can talk to their friends over, just to rub salt in the wound. Bands are the leading cause of alcoholism, because they force people to drink on weekdays.
No one ever goes to a bar to see the band, because everyone knows that music has not changed since 1982, and there's a fat chance that any band playing at the local dive bar in front of a bunch of people who are really just there to score crack has anything new to say on the subject of power pop. It's almost guaranteed that blasting top 40 music would make for a more entertaining evening than the majority of local bands.
Once in a while you will hear bands complain about the "drunken slobs" (people with real jobs who can only go out on Saturday nights, when every bar has a cover) who don't appreciate their music. At the time when this article is being written, there still seems to be a paucity of non-drinking establishments who are capable of staying in business by employing these bands.
Types of bands[edit | edit source]
Rock band[edit | edit source]
A rock band is one that plays songs with dark lyrics, but everyone listens to them anyway! This type of band reached the height of its popularity in the 1990s, but its music is still listened to today, mostly by men in their 50s and 60s who ride motorcycles. There are many rock bands, especially if we include regional bands. The fact is that in the 1990s, as rock music became increasingly popular, many teenagers in the United States and other countries around the world decided to form their own rock bands, hoping to become famous. However, the vast majority of these teenage bands failed; only a few actually managed to achieve success.
K-Pop band[edit | edit source]
This kind of band is becoming more and more popular around the world. This kind of band usually consists of a bunch of idiotic Koreans who dye their hair and paint their nails. This type of band has millions of fans around the world. The fans of this type of band are usually girls between the ages of 1 and 30. This type of band even inspired a movie.
Boy band[edit | edit source]
“Did you mean: K-pop band, but with American boys”
– Google on Boy band
Boy bands were a popular type of band in the 2000s and 2010s. Like K-pop groups, they were a type of band that was popular with girls all over the world.
Emo band[edit | edit source]
A now-defunct genre, the emo band was a subgenre of rock bands. Unlike rock bands, which can still be cool today, this type of band was annoying and weird. The members of this type of band used to have long bangs that covered their noses, wore black lipstick, and painted their nails black. This type of band used to produce songs that, for the most part, talked about how the singer’s life was shit, or dealt with sentimental themes.
Other types of bands[edit | edit source]
Indie band, regional band, virtual band, jazz band, hippie band, rap band, girl band, co-ed group... There are several.
Band members[edit | edit source]
A band must have members to be considered a band; those members are listed below.
- The singer - this is the most important member of a band. He’s the one who sings the band’s songs. He absolutely must have a good singing voice; otherwise, people will throw tomatoes at the stage during the band’s concerts. Sometimes it’s the singer who brings the band to an end. If he fights with the other members, the band might break up. If he dies, the band might break up.[1]
- The guitarist
- The pianist
- The drummer
- The producer - He's not exactly part of the band, but he's important too.
Regional bands are those that are only known in the region where they were formed (though, in some cases, not even the locals know the band).
Footnotes[edit | edit source]
- ↑ In some cases, when a singer dies, they are replaced, but the band no longer has the same essence (as is the case with Linkin Park). But in the vast majority of cases, when the singer dies, the band simply breaks up.
