4004[edit source]

Because, along time ago we took all of the year pages and moved them to Uncyclopedia:Timeline, and that's the way it's going to stay. Besides, you just copied that out of User:Aaadddaaammm/2004BC, which isn't even the right year. If you really want it in the mainspace, you're going to have to add it to the timeline. Some friendly advice[edit source]

Regarding Forum:Unfair ban?, do yourself a favor and read A few words about personality conflicts, If you get banned and Before you get infinitely banned, read this. This is just for your benefit. It makes no difference to me if you read it or not. It may, however, make a beneficial difference to your experience here at Uncyclopedia.

If you don't want to read it, just keep in mind that referring to admins as retards or similar offensive terms will insure you an infinite ban here eventually. It's just a matter of time.

Right or wrong, the site culture here isn't going to change, and if you don't adapt to the reality that admins can ban you, and there's nothing you can really do about it, you're in for a very short career as an uncyclopedian.

Welcome to UnNews[edit source]

Hello, and welcome to UnNews! I know I don't have any authority whatsoever 'cos I'm still a noob (slave of the house), but whatever.

Anyways, I suggest you take a look at Help:How_to_write_an_UnNews_article before you write your next article. Oh, and if you want to know what it takes to get an article featured, have a look at basically anything I write for UnNews. Oh, and if you actually pay attention to your English teacher (or paid, if you're not a student like me - and yes, it is a hard thing to do) when covering the topic of formal writing or speeches, you'll probably get somewhere really high up.

But seeing as you probably have done that, here are a few pointers for you, based on UnNews:Car_bomb_in_hospital_carpark:

  1. Write longer articles. Twice the length of that will do, but thrice is a very good path to take.
  2. Add in an image. All you need to do to get images is linger around Uncyc, but a couple of times I had to steal some from Wikipedia.
  3. Add some sources (can be bullshit), or just use {{Original}} if you want.

P.S. Handgun is my favourite article, too.

Time change article[edit source]

Pedantism[edit source]

Alot is not a word, my goal in life is to eliminate this word from uncyclopedia.

While you're crusading against 'alot,' you should look into killing some comma splices too, they're just not cool.

Please remember to sign your posts with 4 tildes. Commas are generally a matter of personal opinion or style. I, personally, think that commas are pretty much always cool. They make the meaning of writing clearer, IMO, so they must be all good. Aaadddaaammm 04:44, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Several times today I have come across pages that you've taken time to help fix up. Thanks for your hard work. While I realize that the work I am seeing is from random other times in the past, I saw it now, so please accept my belated thanks.---Quill.gifRev. Isra (talk) 22:16, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Lord Fluffy[edit source]

I have three things to address:
One- You misspelled the word "genius" on your userpage. This seems a rather gross error for one that complains about the low intelligence of others.
Two- Commas are not a matter of personal opinion or style. They are designed to clarify meaning by separating different elements within a sentence. Following are the ways that the comma may be used in this manner:

  • Introductory phrases (id exemplar, "When I was a child,...")
  • Parenthetical phrases, details not necessary for the overall meaning of the sentence. For example, 'I cut down all the trees, which were over six feet tall' and 'I cut down all the trees which were over six feet tall' have very different meanings.
  • Independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction.
  • Dependent and independent clauses if the dependent clause comes first.
  • Coordinate adjectives, adjectives that equally and directly modify the following noun.
  • Items in lists.
  • In representing large numbers; i.e., 2,645,712.
  • Names that are presented last name first- "Leibewitz, Michael" for example.
  • Between the name of the city and the state, and again after the name of the state.

A comma splice is a punctuation error in which the comma joins two independent clauses. The comma may be changed to a semicolon, the two clauses may be made into two different sentences, or a coordinate conjunction may be added after the comma. Comma splicing is NOT okay.
Three- You are correct in your assertion that "alot" is not a word. Its use should be eliminated, but shouting about it will not help.
Anyway, I find that language itself is a rather intuitive thing. Feel free to respond on my talk page, sir. Please excuse grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors in this- I'm writing at two in the morning. --Lord Fluffy who rains fire from the heavens 06:15, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Ah. I interpreted the italics as emphasis on the word rather than an indication of humorous intent. Sorry about that. Now that I see it's a joke, I'm quite amused. You are correct that I used Wikipedia as a resource. The rules are universal, and I knew them, but I did not feel that any explanation I could make would be sufficiently lucid. You are also correct that some sentences are correct with or without commas. In those, it is a matter of personal preference. That'll teach me to speak in absolutes! Ha ha ha.. As to the "alot" thing- that was my point. On this site, when you tell people not to do a thing, they will invariably do it. Whether or not they were all adding them with the intent of irritating you, at least some undoubtedly were. Not everybody's sense of humor is above the fart-joke level. I did not feel that you were rude in your reply. Given my personality, bluntness is essential if you want me to get something. I'm not good with hints.
It's nice to have an intelligent conversation once in a while. Thanks. --Lord Fluffy who rains fire from the heavens 14:41, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Just a quick to say for returning the irony to that article before I got there. It helped alot. *runs* Wyattj 00:55, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Species[edit source]

You have my reply comrade, and my remittance for not seeing that it has only been there a day, especially as I make it a point to throw Vigilance only upon older articles that have little hope of ressurection and are usually full of crap. Give it some more meat though, I'm sure there are more places you can go with it. ;)
