Forum:Er, what's with this ban?
Forum:BENSON WAS BANNED AGAIN!
I and a number of BENSON followers got banned for 24 hours for "Yelling in a forum". I take it this has something to do with caps lock, but that never resulted in bans before. BENSON's caps lock is a well established injoke, and I and a number of BENSON followers find these absurd bans to be utterly idiotic. It seems as though certain admins are just looking for any reason they can find to ban BENSON followers. Anyone else think this is completely unfair? --User:Nintendorulez 23:49, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe it's just a joke ban Mr. Briggs Inc. 23:57, 13 January 2007 (UTC) Eh?
- Might have been because the caps lock spilled over into the main forum, rather than just the benson one. • Spang • ☃ • talk • 23:59, 13 Jan 2007
User:Banson?
He just got ANOTHER 3-day ban, and he hasn't even been using caps lately. See aforementioned topic for details, since I'm too lazy to repost everything. And what's so bad about the caps anyway in regards to BENSON? It's a well established in-joke. Nobody gets banned for replying to a topic with Nobody cares. I haven't seen any bans for chuckling at Fisher Price. Why the discrimination against BENSON? What did he ever do to piss admins off? --User:Nintendorulez 18:07, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Simply put, he believes the rules of the site don't apply to him. It's cute to worship him and all, but he does still have to fit in with the community. He can't go around sockpuppeteering, making demands, or other such nonsense. Those are the main bans I'm aware of. When I've researched Benson bans, I've always gone, "Well why did he think he could DO that?" A good portion of Benson's popularity is his divisiveness, which means that a lot of people hate having him here, including some admins. In fact, many of us find it harder to do our jobs because of him. That's just what I'm seeing, anyway.--<<>> 20:55, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- But he hasn't done anything wrong lately. --User:Nintendorulez 21:30, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- BENSON actually said to me that he was testing us. He wanted to get banned intentionally to see our reactions. Naturally, he was pleased, and he wrote me a message on Wikipedia defending himself. Frankly, BENSON DOES treat Uncyc seriously. He doesn't like vandalism, and he invested some serious time into Pond Whales. In short, he's funny AND serious. So please don't discount him because of his cult status, which is what a lot of people, admins and non-admins, do. BENSON didn't do anything wrong since he got back from his monthlong ban. So please, please, please leave BENSON alone unless he does something serious again. Thank you. --Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 02:49, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah. The BENSON-discrimination seems to be getting out of hand. Nobody has explained why Dawg gave the three-day ban. --User:Nintendorulez 21:29, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

It's as if a vast, all-consuming veil has suddenly been lifted!
Ooh, weird! What just happened? I suddenly got this strange urge to start working on actual articles again! c • > • cunwapquc? 06:29, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

"He wanted to get banned intentionally to see our reactions." Hmm, my Bullshitometer needle just dipped into the red again. Funny that. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 01:27, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

- Oh I'm not doubting you, Crazyswordsman. I just doubt the veracity of his claim that he created a bunch of sockpuppets and used them to vote on his picture "just to see what would happen". If you choose to believe that, that's your prerogative. Either way, the motivation for it is irrelevant, it's the action itself (in this case, vote fixing) that matters. And for the record, I don't have any problem with Benson himself, but I have a big issue with the fact that a few users seem to think that because they worship him in a fucking creepy way, anything associated with him should take precedence over the rest of the site. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 01:41, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I definitely don't think that. In fact, I have an article I'm working on for PLS. The whole BENSON thing I just do because I think it's funny. But I have several ideas for articles and absolutely no time on my hands to do them. Or if I do, they usually end up being too short. --Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!!
