After speaking with a number of community leaders and receiving a warning from my agent, PA and social media team, I have embarked upon a period of reflection and self-growth. I now accept that making easy jokes at the expense of members of society who are disproportionately disenfranchised and discriminated against is inherently problematic and this kind of comedy, far from being "edgy", is simply the latest cheap blow struck in a centuries-old culture of "punching down".
