I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (
) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.
At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Hestian/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! Please don't recreate articles that have been deleated (or huffed as we like to say around here). I'm talking about this article of yours in particular. You may possibly be onto a good idea, but it needs much more expansion (and proper formatting) before it can be considered an article. Please read The links Todd gave you above for further advice. - Well it hasn't gone anywhere as of yet, but if you want to work on it without fear of deletion you can draft articles in your userspace (User:Hestian/Article name) in this case you'd want "User:Hestian/UnNews talk:Binky Fairy Goes Berserk". Then you can work on it untill it's ready to be moved back to where it is now. Also if you want to be adopted I can do that. Orian57 Talk

- Hi, I was reading this morning, while everyone else is asleep (hoorah) and placed a link on my user page to my work in progress, the page you created for me. Then I went to move the page on UnNews I had mistakenly created and it said I could not do that. Do you want to delete that page (practicing linking)? I hope this reply turns out in the proper format. I indented four spaces.--Hestian 11:24, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- You were close, But simply use one more colon (:) than the person you are replying to used, at the start of your message and then type normally after that. As for deleting I don't have the power to do that. However it shouldn't really be nescessary Just copy and paste the code from one on top of the other.
