Hey Gwax
In case no one bothered saying so, it's good having you around. In case someone did, it still is :P ~ 19:03, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- gwax being cool at the right time is pretty much the reason I'm still here. Hang on, most people probably think that's a bad thing. Hmm, silly gwax... Also, it's "gwax" dammit mORDILLO!!! Capital letters are very important you know. --mRn9000 19:25, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Poo Lit Surprise
I'm sending you this because you are signed up to judge the Poo Lit Surprise. If you no longer want to judge or are incapable of, please tell me as soon as possible. If you're still good to go, here are the instructions:
First, read all of the articles in your specified category. Second, judge them. Judge how you like, as long as it's at least fair and based on merit (one suggestion would be to use the Pee Review format). Post your top 5 articles here. Hit me up on my talk page for questions, comments, or if these rules are not cognizant within you.
Thank you again for your valued participation in the balletic train wreck that is the Poo Lit Surprise! – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • critchat) 14:23 Jul 15, 2008
- Excellent! I shall wait until submissions are locked on the 29th and then get my Judgmentation on. --Sir gwax (talk) 19:01, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you...
I wonder if you might stick your ban stick up this chaps ass... Special:Contributions/TOM_CRUISE! Thanks. MrN 19:12, Jul 17
- We do have Uncyclopedia:Ban Patrol for just this sort of thing, you know? It looks like someone's already put him up there so it should get taken care of soon enough. --Sir gwax (talk) 19:28, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. In my experience Ban Patrol is far to slow to be worth bothering with in the case where we have huge vandal outbreak like the one above. Most admins will check recent changes before Ban patrol anyway, and I only find Ban patrol useful for pointing out cyber bullies and a long series of bad small edits. I did ask on IRC, with no success, and I saw that you were the only active admin around. I do sometimes ask some of the other chaps to ban people in this way, but as this is obviously not your style, I will not do so in the future. The admin who did eventually ban that vandal did so because I asked him on IRC... Have fun... Oh, did you look at short pages between 600 and 1000 recently? That I'm cleaning up short pages... There is little left there now which is crap... ;) MrN 20:07, Jul 17
- That may be the case, but I tend to show up once every week or two for a little while and then disappear again. You just got lucky because today was one of those days. I'm one of those admins that's not actually active. --Sir gwax (talk) 22:27, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- He's a ghost. We planted a box of tic tac on him ages ago so we can hear him come and go. ~ 22:28, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hea I was about to say that! I also have a team of spies motoring gwax's every move... It's always nice to see ya. I saw you on recent changes that was all... Have fun. MrN 22:32, Jul 17
- You crazy kids and your information awareness; glad to know you care. I must say, MrN, that I envy you and the days when I had the time, energy and love to do crap-work like clean out Shortpages. If it weren't for this 9-5 and all the crap I have going on outside work, I'd take charge of VFD again; those were good times. Keep up the good work; it's what helps us stay a decent-ish place. --Sir gwax (talk) 22:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, only 600 or so more to go... Trouble is, every time I VFD a really bad page, another one pop up at at 1000... Bugger! Oh, In that forum it looked like you were getting the go ahead to delete all that vanity to me... Brad and Modus are both rather anti-deletionist, and I would say that if they both think it's OK, then you can probably go for it... ZB does it from time to time... ;-) MrN 23:28, Jul 17

Thanks for making it that much trippier. I just noticed and it gave me an epileptic seizure... of trippiness. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 03:14, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
- Factorization amuses me and it seemed like a neat thing to do at time. I'm glad you like it. --Sir gwax (talk) 22:24, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Picture Problems
Gwax, I've made some minor contributions to the site, and will soon be finishing my first full contribution- Why?: Doesn't anybody call on me? Only thing is, I need a picture, preferably of a guy raising his hand. Thing is, I do not want to simply copy and paste a picture from Google Images because there might be copyrights involved. Where can I get pictures (preferably of a guy raising his hand or something) that are not copyrighted and by putting them on Uncyclopedia I would not be breaking any laws or rules? Sorry, long question. -Mrpastry909
- Uncyclopedia's policy on copyrights are different from a site like Wikipedia. As a satirical site, we are, to some extent, protected parody laws. That said, in the event of an infringement, the offending image is removed but the rest of the article is left intact. In short, don't worry too much about copyright; your best bet is to use a combination of Wikimedia Commons and Google Image Search and then, if needs be, photoshop things to your needs. You might also be able to ask for some help in our chat room but, if you go that route, introduce yourself first and try to be polite. --Sir gwax (talk) 18:09, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Format for Pee Review
Before I submit Why?: Does no one call on me?, I'm going to put it on a Pee Review first. What's the best way to get it on a Pee Review? As in do I copy and paste from the document, etc.? I have Microsoft Word 2007, but this is saved on a file format that is compatible with Microsoft Word 1997-2003. Also, there's a picture that doesn't go on this file format on Uncyclopedia (It's a jpg.) -Mrpastry909
- In order to use Pee Review, you must create your article and then ask for it to be reviewed. In order to create your article, you will need to go to the place you want it to be, presumably Why?: Does no one call on me?, and edit the article using wikiformating. If you are unfamiliar with wikiformating or editing articles in general, I highly recommend reading through Wikipedia's Introduction pages, which give a lot of information on how to use a wiki.
- Once you have created your article, go to Pee Review, scroll down to the bottom and use the text box to submit it. --Sir gwax (talk) 18:09, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Also, is there a better way to ask for help on usertalk than making a new topic? -Mrpastry909
- You don't need to make a new topic every time that you want to say something on a user page, you can either click the edit button up at the top of the page or you can click the little edit button next to the particular section that you would like to edit; this is true for articles as well.
- Also, it is customary to sign and date your comments on people's talk pages. To sign and date a post, put a dash followed by four tildes (-~~~~) after your post; Uncyclopedia will convert this into a signature. --Sir gwax (talk) 18:09, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
do u know how to remove a picture?
i uploaded a picture i really didn't mean to upload
how do i remove it from the uncyclopedia database?
- Hi, gwax may be talking a nap... If you uploaded the picture and it's not being used you can get it deleted by posting it on QVFD with a comment saying "author request". Or... Just don't worry about it. I suggest the second option. It will get deleted one day if its never used, so it's not really a problem if it's hanging around for a while. MrN 12:26, Oct 15
