N.A.N.U.A.K. (nanuak.fandom.com) is an (intentionally) retarded Wikia project created by OPOSSUM in August of 2023. It is a mixture of a crappy joke wiki and an information source about Michelle Paver's children's novel series, The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness. It covers a larger range of topics than the official COAD wiki, such as theories, fan fiction, analysis and outside influences on the series. Only OPOSSUM made any significant contributions to the N.A.N.U.A.K. wiki, which has been inactive since December 2023. The majority of images in the wiki were drawn using MS Paint, although OPOSSUM tried put some effort into the images. Fitting OPOSSUM's crude sense of humor at the time (and to an extent, now), the logo is “vaguely phallic”. At one point (somehow), N.A.N.U.A.K. may have been the largest and most developed source of information about the CoAD series, due to N.A.N.U.A.K. featuring a larger page count than the official wiki, a slight semblance of quality control, an interactive map, and a greater variety of topics. (OPOSSUM also contributed to the official wiki.)
Backstory[edit | edit source]
OPOSSUM began reading the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series in late 2022. The series follows the adventures of an orphaned boy named Torak who can talk to wolves and must save the world, err, prehistoric Norway, from a group of sorcerers known as the Soul-Eaters. OPOSSUM later created a video with his friends that spoofed the series and several other novel series. He had planned to create both a wiki called N.A.N.U.A.K. and an animated parody series, the latter of which he never got around to making. OPOSSUM is more of a runner than a reader, but he could really get himself involved in analyzing the CoAD series to oblivion. When OPOSSUM felt he had enough free time one August 2023 afternoon, he began working on the N.A.N.U.A.K. Wiki, although it was never as fleshed-out or as funny as he hoped that he could. He put together 200 mostly short pages in only three weeks, but he was rather proud of the result.

As cringey as NANUAK was, OPOSSUM was (and kind of still is) very proud of his work. One day a user known as Vector Sigma mysteriously gained moderator status on the official CoAD wiki, making thousands of edits to it in the span of one week. OPOSSUM then wrote an (blatantly ironic) slanderous but article about Sigma on N.A.N.U.A.K, which Sigma disapproved of, of course. Sigma, who saw the N.A.N.U.A.K. wiki as merely a spam site, attempted to get the wiki shut down. Sigma was also under the impression that two wikis about the same subject should not be allowed to coexist. Sigma then deleted the Sigma article off the N.A.N.U.A.K. wiki, but OPOSSUM restored it under the title “Civet Orgasm”, an anagram of “Vector Sigma”. OPOSSUM then told Sigma about not just N.A.N.U.A.K.’s true purpose, as well as the “Neo Scary Godmother Wiki”, a far crazier wiki which was basically a batshit nonsensical version of the “Scary Godmother Wiki”. Following this, a truce was declared, and the Civet Orgasm page was deleted from N.A.N.U.A.K. The COAD wiki and the NANUAK wiki now advertise each other on their respective front pages.
