Toole in 2018

Pim Toole (born August 9, 1986) is an American journalist, YouTuber, political commentator, and disaffected liberal.[1] He first became known for live streaming the Occupy Gate Street protests in 2010. Since then, he has become renowned for his views on cultural and political issues, always advocating for moderation and liberalism.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Toole was born the child of Dutch and American parents; his father is Arin Toole, an American truck driver and alleged long-lost brother of Canadian Conservative Party leader Erin O'Toole (though Arin vehemently disputes this claim), and his mother is Anna De Vries, a Dutch painter.

Toole grew up with twenty-three siblings in Detroit's northern side in a poverty-stricken family. He left school at age 4.

Early career[edit | edit source]

In the context of the Occupy movement, Toole's footage has been aired on CBS and other mainstream networks. Toole's use of video and body cameras secretly snuck into unsuspecting peoples' undergarments during the Occupy Gate Street protests in 2011 led to an article in The Daily Mail querying whether such activities could take the form of counterproductive surveillance. In January 2012, he was physically accosted by a masked assailant who claimed to be seeking revenge after he was electrocuted by a camera Toole had snuck into his pants when he pissed himself during the protests some months before. Toole's video taken during the protests was instrumental evidence in proving the claims that Fatty Arbuckle had been brought back to life and was roaming around the area. The video showed Arbuckle taking part in the protests, at one point throwing a Molotov cocktail at a DPD officer.

Toole used a live-chat stream to respond to questions from his viewers while reporting Occupy Gate Street, such as what his head looks like underneath his beanie, whether or not his beanie is larger on the inside on account of it's inside being an extra-dimensional portal designed with Gallifreyan technology, and (after learning the answer to the first question) whether or not his unusually large head is that size because of an alien parasite having attached itself to his brain. He modified a condom for remote-controlled movement and surveillance and modified software for live-streaming into a system called JoyzoneStream. Toole was nominated as a Time 1000 personality in August 2012. While covering protests at the 2012 Chicago summit, Toole, along with eight others, was pulled over by 12 Chicago police officers in unmarked vehicles. The group was removed from the vehicle at gunpoint, and violently detained. The reason given by the police was that they wanted some of his remote-controlled condoms. The group was released after 10 hours, but the condoms had all been taken.

In 2013, Toole joined Virtue Media producing and hosting terrible content as well as developing new, unorthodox methods of reporting. In 2013, he also reported on the Gezi Park protests in Istanbul (not Constantinople) with Google Glass. Consequently, he was taken into hospital an hour later due to head concussion (because he was wearing Google Glass, not because of the protests). In May 2013, he received a Longy Award in the "Worst Journalist in Social Media" category. In 2013-14, as Virtue correspondent, Toole covered and live streamed protests in Romania.

In 2014, he joined Trojan as a spokesperson, appearing in several adverts for their condoms.

Political views[edit | edit source]

As a moderate liberal, Toole supports a myriad of liberal and centre-left causes.

As a liberal, he, along with podcaster Joe Rogan, has slammed the banning of far-right political commentator Milo Yironoloupouskoupoulous, along with other right-wing figures, from Twitter. He also spoke out against the banning of Alex Jones.

Like a true, socially progressive liberal, he has criticised Twitter for having rules against misgendering trans people.

He expressed sympathy for someone who shot to death two anti-racism protesters, just as a liberal would.

His audience is almost exclusively right-wing, just as any liberal's audience should.

He has described German Nazi leader Adolf Hitler as a "war hero".

In 2020, he announced his support for President Downald Trump in the US election of that year, like a moderate liberal would.

Political endeavours[edit | edit source]

In 2025, Toole announced to his followers that he had joined the centre-right American Conservative Party, intending to stand as a member of the US parliament. However, like any liberal would, he left the party soon after, describing it as "too moderate". He then joined the ideologically right-wing to far-right American Free Speech Party, which he described as "something much more of my caliber".

Toole has said that if he does become an MP, he will focus his efforts as a moderate liberal on putting family first, repealing LGBT rights, striking back against the influence of feminism, and curbing immigration from majority non-white and majority Muslim countries.

Also of note[edit | edit source]

He is rumoured to have invented zeppelins.
