So, wikipedia has some things in their interface messages that we don't, and since we're trying to look like them sort of I think we should fix this. In principle I could just go in and do it, but I think somebody might object so here's a forum.

Here are the things I'd like to change/add:

Pink log boxes (add to MediaWiki:Common.css):

div.mw-warning-with-logexcerpt,
div.mw-lag-warn-high,
div.mw-cascadeprotectedwarning,
div#mw-protect-cascadeon {
	clear: both;
	margin: 0.2em 0;
	border: 1px solid #bb7070;
	background: #ffdbdb;
	padding: 0.25em 0.9em;
}

Bigger/more readable syntax-highlighted text (add to MediaWiki:Common.css):

div.mw-geshi div,
div.mw-geshi div pre,
span.mw-geshi,
pre.source-css,
pre.source-javascript {
	font-family: monospace, "Courier New" !important;
}

Change the 'Discussion' tabs to say 'Talk' - done by changing MediaWiki:Talk
Change the revision delete link to say del/undel rather than change visibility (MediaWiki:Rev-delundel)
Change MediaWiki:Editsection-brackets back to having brackets (from the edit summary in the history it also looks like it wasn't intended not to have brackets - no idea what was up with that, but it should work ok to put the brackets back)
Change MediaWiki:Uploadedimage back to quotes rather than italics, mainly because italicising it doesn't work for some reason

The last two would probably just involve deleting the pages, since we'd be going back to the default.

It's pink, and it holds logs.

I'm confused. Is this what we're talking about here?
I'm not totally sure how you'd attach one of these to a page but sure, why not, sounds good to me. Snarglefoop (talk) 21:41, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

I seem to have forgot a couple things, so here they are before I forget them again:

Change MediaWiki:Difference-title (the title you see on a diff page) to say '$1: Difference between revisions'
Change MediaWiki:History-title (the title on the history page) to say '$1: Revision history'

Forum talk

Why is this not visible? Whenever I am on a Forum: page, I cannot see the "talk" section. ??? — (talk) (contributions) 00:14:51 2014/04/20 UTC

It's this code in MediaWiki:Common.css:

body.ns-110 #ca-talk { display: none; }

Do you think it should be made visible again? It was hidden because forum talk pages are apparently a useless namespace (as forums are a discussion namespace already) but it's probably arguable either way. – Llwy-ar-lawr (talk • contribs • logs) 00:37, 20 Apr 2014

It should be visible because the Forum talk: namespace is a place to discuss the forums. For example, if you wanted to talk about this forum, but not the actual subject of this forum, you'd go to [[Forum talk:Proposed changes to interface]]. —
