Wrong has two lists at the end of it - "People who have been wrong" and "People who are never wrong". People add to these lists quite frequently. My question is: what should be done with these additions. Delete all but the best? Leave them all? Only delete ones that I understand? Archive them all somewhere? I'm sure there are other lists like this around the 'pedia (like that abbrev?). It's a tough one, that's for sure. Many a sleepless night worrying about this problem... Thanks for your advice anyway. I reckon you should just delete the unfunny ones. I try to keep lists, when I use them, down to about five, usually with some expansion on the bullet points. -- Hindleyite 15:26, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
My maximum is generally six, because it's easier to count on one hand. No, wait...five! Whew.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:26, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
I agree with a six or seven max. Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 19:50, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

I say an "until it stops being funny" max. --User:Nintendorulez 20:25, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Many of them are good, I got rid of some of the obvious/boring ones. Mr. Briggs Inc. 20:36, 25 October 2006 (UTC) Eh?

I'd convert whatever parts of the list you feel like keeping into actual text. (Not that lists aren't text, but what I mean thou knoweth, Horatio.) Saying that George Bush has been wrong isn't funny, and saying the same thing about others in rapid succession doesn't make it funny either. Describing what Bush has been wrong about, however, has potential for a fatal overdosage of comedy. By delisting, you can prevent people from unfunnying up the 'pedia by using your article as a convenient forum to voice their lame opinions, while allowing those with the funny to insert it without breaching a numerical maximum on humor. See also Uncyclopedia:Writing lists, which I wrote, and I am a people who are never wrong.

But whatever you do, keep the revolving door bit. --EvilZak 21:12, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

I try to keep lists to deleted and banned. It prevents them from getting too long and unfunny. See how well that worked? Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 26/10 01:53

Oi! What was that for? Would you care to unhuff that article that happened to contain a couple of lists? I'll delete the lists if that would make you happy. Aaadddaaammm 02:53, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Exercise?--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:57, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I generally figure that if people put lists places where I'll notice them that they want them deleted. Always happy to de-list uncyclopedia. Although the bit about the revolving door was pretty decent. How about this: I'll hack up wrong, and y'all can race to delete the crappy lists before I get bored and delete the whole article again. How about that - it makes everyone happy! Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 26/10 02:59
As much as I hate seeing my babies butchered, go for it. You know best, so I'm told. For the record, I like the "People who say that grues are only afraid on the inside" it's great. Aaadddaaammm 03:03, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

I think lists should abide by the Codeine's Mum rule, the same one used for vanity pages, only applied to lists instead. --The Acceptable Thinking cap small.png Cainad Sacred Chao.png (Fnord) 07:10, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Here's what Mandaliet thinks

I think there should be a separate section of the website for lists. Of course, this will never happen, ever.—Sir Mandaliet CUN PS VFH GN (talk) 16:57, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

A list of lists? Worst...list...ever...--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 21:58, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Lists as policy problems

We have, in the past, been opposed to all lists and generally deleted them. Our argument at the time was primarily that all the lists we came across sucked. I'm going to go one step further and make an argument as to why we shouldn't allow lists now or in the future and should not even consider the possibility of having a good list: when a user sees a list, they invariably want to add an item that they think is funny, an item which invariably is not funny. As a solution to this problem, we have two options, heavily police every good list on the site or not allow lists and the former option is totally impractical. Basically, lists are crap-bait and we've got enough crap showing up without asking for it. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 21:34, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Um, when was {{Anti-list}} created? January of this year? I've been beating this drum for 9 months now. Glad to see more people falling in step. I'm working to become the Pol Pot of lists. Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 31/10 22:09
Perhaps we should have some sort of "Famine's Mum"-type rule for this...--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 22:51, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
I like {{anti-list}}. It is all we need. Famine is good. --Sir Zombiebaron 23:29, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
