The article is ruined because of the Wikimedia thing. It wouldn't be ruined if it was in AAAAAAAAA! instead of English. Don't you agree?– Preceding unsigned comment added by Can of Worms (talk • contribs)

Hmm. Don't know if there's a way to rejig a site notice with funky javascript. Anyone? - David Gerard 22:47, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
I don't know java, exept how to drink it, but I agree. --Sir Zombiebaron 22:52, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
I once wrote a JS that'll change all letters of a page to AAAAAAAAA!, but it'll only work if placed at the bottom of the page, and I dunno where all them mediawiki settings go. Of course, someone could probably improve the scripting to work anywhere, as I just plain suck at javascript. --User:Nintendorulez 22:52, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
There's also Nihilism, and others of its ilk.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 23:08, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah. Get rid of it NOW. AND the ads on Nihilism. If that's a breach of the contract, we can make up for them on such articles as Redundancy, Redundant, and Redundancy. Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 00:53, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
The beg-boxes for the Boxing Day tsunami and the ones to build a New New Orleans were on one page only, not every page in the wiki. That a aaaa a avoided AAAAAAAAA! aa aaaaa a aa a problem like this.

Yeah, that completely ruins Nihilism. For that reason alone, I oppose the site-notice, at least until a fix can be found. --Sir ENeGMA (talk) GUN WotM PLS 23:32, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Umm...

AAAAAAAAA! - Uncyclopedia1166316007234.jpg

You notice the Wikimedia donation info but you never noticed any of the other stuff?--Scott 00:49, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

I noticed... --Sir Zombiebaron 00:53, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, we shouldn't remove the donation bar simply because of this article. And given the rest wrecks it anyway, it's not like the template is soley to blame. Besides, how hard is it to fix via a JS? --User:Nintendorulez 02:16, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Uncyclopedia beoming a project on Wikimedia wasent a good idea. And great pic. I will put it on my userpage. But for AAAAAAAAA!. I wanna see all A's. Not AAAAAAAAAAYou can give the gift of knowledge by donating to Chron's Ferrari Fund Wikimedia!

Anything the user types into the search box should be converted to AAAAAAA as well. - Nonymous 03:55, 17 December 2006 (UTC) Somebody added <option> just undernieth the 3 giant A's in the article. Can you fix it. I don't like seeing that article being ruined. Can of Worms 04:37, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

  • The script used in Braille could be used to overcome the sidebar issues --Mafagafo 01:09, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Notes from Wikia

  • The ad stays, per terms of service agreement for hosting Uncyclopedia. I've asked TPTB about this on more that one occasion (during reskins, etc), and hiding the ads by sitewide css/js, even on one page, is bad (tm).
  • Per-page css convention allows the sitenotice to be hidden on the above mentioned pages. Example: MediaWiki:Skin/Aaaa.css can be edited to hide the sitenotice (any admin can do this):
#siteNotice {display: none; } /* hide the sitenotice all the time */
#fundraising {display: none; } /* hide just the fundraising notice */
  • Per-page js (beyond the CSS selector, which will mostly be obsolete when we upgrade to 1.9, as per above) is a can of worms, as I've explained to Nin dozens of times. Not advised.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. --Splaka 07:20, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

If ads are so important then WHY ARE THEY STILL NOT WORKING IN CLASSIC SKIN! I FILED A BUG AND EVERYTHING! - David Gerard 13:43, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

I believe there is a firefox plugin that can fix this, and or a greasemonkey script to alleviate your pain.--Chronarion 21:32, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
The ads are more targetted to the anonymous users (about ~85% of page views, on Uncyclopedia) who cannot switch skins (except manually with ?useskin=). Of the 15% of logged-in page views, I can safely hazard guess that most are using the default skin. There had been talk (on wikia.com, not necessarily on Uncyclopedia) of disabling most ads for logged in users, sort of as an incentive to register, not sure what ever became of that though. --Splaka 04:35, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Petition it. Hey, maybe change the ads into AAAAAA and shop the photos... ONX 17:54, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Just translate AAAAAAAAA! into Finnish (Suomi) and be done with it. Hiki.pedia is already MW1.9 with no ads. --66.102.73.18 18:49, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Idea to fix the terms of service agreement issue

Why not translate all the txt. on the AAAAAAAAA! page ads to AAAAAAAAA!, and then convince Wikia that this could actually help encourage more people to click on the ads because would want to see what the AAAAAAAAA! ads are really the same ads. Or we could bribe pay Wikia to help cover the cost of hiding the ads for AAAAAAA! Even if we can't convince us to let us hide them we should at least change "lunch money" to "AAAAA AAAAA!" so that firefox adblock users get to expernanince the ture AAAAAAAAAnes of the article...--Scott 01:46, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Aaaaa, aaa aaa aaa Aaaaa aa aaa, aaa "Aaa aaa aaaaaaaaa aaa aaaa aa aaaaaaaaa aa aaaaaa aaa aaaaaaa" aa aaa aaaaa aaa aaaaaaa! -Aaaaaa AA:AA, AA AAAAAAAA AAAA (AAA)
Not that I would ever click any ads, but I'm less likely to click Earn Money Free IPod Blah Blah Flash Games than something like AAAA AAAAA AAAA AAAA AAAA AAAA AAAAA AAAAA. It triggers curiosity... --User:Nintendorulez 22:05, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
The ads are pretty relevent: 'Call AAA Car Rental!' 'AAA House Insurance!' Freemorpheme.gif 23:57, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Agree.                Smiddle

OMG

Why, this is blasphemy towards all things AAAAAAAAA! It is, of course, as any languician (Languician? Is that right?) will tell you, it's own language in itself. Saying the page is English is like saying Bush speaks English! It is simply not right.
