At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Dracopol/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

Hello Dracopol![edit source]
And good to talk to a name. You may know some of this, but I'll share some of the fun things with you. Surfing "Recent changes" is fun, and it lets you go to the present-time active places, user pages, forums, and things. Voting for VFH (Feature articles) and VFD (to huff or save pages people are trying to get rid of. And you can improve them too, which is a save). Some users are fun to play with. Lyrithya, who left you that long and boring welcome template above (yawn) is good to get to know and play with. People like Magic man, Dancing Dude (who will leave a dance or two on your talk page), M&M, are fun. Others such as Funnybony (tell him I sents ya), PuppyOnTheRadio, and others can be helpful to know when you need answers. Some strange pages at VFG. Lots more, but that's a lot for now, and some other recent change surfers will probably now come by and add to this. - Oh, I know. It was just a comment on the welcome templates, which I've always thought contain way too much info for a first time "Hello!!!!!!", and, imnho, probably scares away tons of new users. I mean, the literate count among the population ain't whats it used to bes, so many of the new people (I'm not talking about Dracopol, who has some very good edits) might not want so much data right off the bat. I took the welcome template I got and eventually brought it into just links. It's all useful info, just lots and lots of useful info. Lyrithya's is a pretty good one, and some of the grapics on others are awesome, still longish to me. Aleister 2:56 8 1 '11

Hello and thanks to you both. I took a look at the Beginner's Guide and HTBFANJS. I added some jokes to Dungeons & Dragons or at least I did in my anonymous URL persona. I added a killer pun to Gary Numan, some guy had a lame idea that Numan has Stalin's DNA so I ran with it. Helped proofread a guy's article on The Beverly Hillbillies.
