Note: This is a page to backup all my messages in anticipation of Wikia burninating them. I want to keep them in their original state so I can restore them as soon as we can undo Wikia's massive screw-up.

I like to keep my talk page fresh, so here is the first archive of all comments posted here since March 2011, when I started actively participating here. -- Tinypony.gif Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. Fix your signature!

You are encouraged to be creative with your signature--but there's a way to put all that creativity inside a file in your userspace. That way, every signature will call out that file, rather than vomit the creativity into the page everywhere you sign it! See Uncyclopedia:How_To_Get_Started_Editing#Signature_templates. Cheers! • Sure thing, Spike; it was a problem in the preferences with the nosubst part. It's fixed now, though. Thanks for letting me know! -- Tinypony.gif Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. Rap sheet. His shameless obsession. 18:46, March 11, 2011 (UTC)
It would also help SF if you had a direct link to your talk page on your sig as well. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 12:07, March 12, 2011 (UTC)
I used to have a link to this page embedded in the little fox's image code, but I suppose that's just "mystery meat" navigation! >_< I changed it to be a little more relevant, and links now imply where they are going first. Extraneous information has been put in an expanding tag, but with consideration for length. Thanks for the help, guys! -- Tinypony.gif Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. Rap sheet. RGB profile errors

Okay, now you've gotten me really curious. How were you trying to put that image together? I used GIMP as well, but something tells me our methods are a little different. I mean, base images make a fair bit of difference on their own; the more similar the better, but... 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 23:56, 16 March 2011

Well, I was using that wave as the background, and cropped the bottom to make up for the lack of beach in that shoreline image. I used the eraser to turn the mismatched water in the beach picture into transparency; the problem was that the eraser would only erase to white space instead of transparency. Of course, cutting around the trees was extremely difficult, and mine would have looked it came out of an early PS1 game with polygon edges. I never thought to look for a better beach... >o<
As for the RGB error it gave me:
"The image 'beach.jpg' has an embedded color profile: Camera RGB Profile. Convert the image to RGB working space (sRGB built-in)?"
I wasn't sure what any of that meant, so I just clicked "Convert." That's probably where the transparency issue was. -- Tinypony.gif Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. Rap sheet. His shameless obsession. 00:52, March 17, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, profiles... now I remember. They tend not to mean terribly much, in my limited experience. But in the case of erasing to white instead of transparency, sometimes you need to add an alpha channel to the layer. It's under the transparency options on the layer menu, or by right-clicking on the layer itself; then it'll do more of what you expect. At least, it should. Do these things ever do quite what we expect? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 01:30, 17 March 2011
I think I sorta figured it out. I was adding the alpha channel after I erased part of the picture... Still, it works out better this way; my super awesome version probably would have been huffed, anyway. :P -- Tinypony.gif Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. Rap sheet. And another thing

Hard RETURN (press Enter) after typing [Image: ...] or [File: ...] or it breaks the rendering of the paragraph. 00:15 Apart from that, Serenity (the emotion) is really taking shape! Spıke ¬ 00:24 17-Mar-11

The grue army

Hey, I saw you joined the grue army, so I just wanted to give you a big welcome from all of us "old members". Anyway, it looks like you joined the Twin Suns Squadron, like it says there, you job is to revert vandalism, report vandals, and placing crap on QVFD, VFD, and ICU. And keep a record of what you've done, then once every month, half a month or a week report what you've done here, and rise up the ranks! So heelo and welcome again, and good luck! --Wanna see a magic trick? 19:47, March 18, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, Magic Man! I actually joined because I'm already a VFD regular, and I just started to help stamp out edit wars. Lately, I've been placing IPs and such on Ban Patrol. Would it get a faster response if I posted them to the Grue Army report page instead? Thanks again for the welcome! -- Tinypony.gif Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. Rap sheet. His shameless obsession. 04:48, March 19, 2011 (UTC)
It would probably be faster if you posted them on the the Grue Army report page. I f you place them there you'll either get a response from me or Meganew (grue army team leader). As we are the only one's authorized to do that (I'm second in command). Anyway, you're welcome. --Wanna see a magic trick? 17:31, March 19, 2011 (UTC)
If things need banning, put them on ban patrol - admins check that, unlike the grue pages. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 21:14, 19 March 2011

Your VFH nom

Hello. I put your friend Jarjar on the Oral sex page (and who doesn't want Oral sex linked to their talk page!). I better put Toothy Mouth somewhere before he gets huffed in some sick pic purge. Your VFH nom, SPIKE's UnNews, is funny but is already out of date. The judge has again ruled and Gov. Walker has complied and stopped any talk of implementing the law. That's the problem with topical UnNews's on VFH - here today wrong tomorrow. Have you checked out Dinosaur on VFH? It's our newest Colonization effort and is "lookin' good" (as Dinosaurs go) Aleister 9:37 1-4-'11

What Aleister says is true; the facts are "overtaken by reality," though if you still think it is funny, the facts should never stand in the way. I regard my UnNews:NFL changes rules for safety as a better contribution, though it is simple sarcasm. But thanks for the nomination. Froggy's vote against is indistinguishable from vendetta. Spıke ¬ 00:25 2-Apr-11
Thanks Aleister. I'll have to make a user-subpage on our newest in-joke, Toothy Mouth! As for the nomination, no problem, Spike! I still think it's funny, even if it is outdated. I know a lot of people are averse to featuring UnNews items, but I try to look at all articles equally. UnNews features serve as good examples for prospective UnJournalists. -- Tinypony.gif Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. Rap sheet. "Red State" rewrites

With my re-writes, I remember having great intentions on both articles, but they both started out as redlinks that I stubified and then kind of let languish. Over time, I believe, the bitterness of other editors weighted down the article (especially redstates). As I tried to convey yesterday afternoon, I did not want to start a rewrite, if it was going to be huffed anyway. Lately, I'd been thinking of the red states as a us equiv of the CIS, hence my B-Capital city idea. anyway, thanks for your reconsideration, and I'll get cracking on them. I have done some emergency terraforming on them thus far. --K3vin-Yak-Bak MUN,CM,NS 08:31, April 4, 2011 (UTC)

Fox, you are a gentleman to withdraw your VFD nominations, given the promise of rework; but you nominated them for a reason, and it remains to be seen whether the reason is disproved: whether Kevillips is writing to amuse, or to flog an agenda, that the Year 2000 election was "stolen" by a band of racist cracker morons. His wide-ranging defense on the VFD page--including the assertion that the VFD nomination must be political, as the pages themselves could not be; and declaring that "UnNews is ruined," suggests that he is here to prevail by any means rather than to make good comedy decisions. Spıke ¬ 00:36 5-Apr-11
Hmm, 'tis possible... But I like to extend second chances when possible. If it turns out that there really is some agenda besides good comedic writing at work here, it could be VFD'd again. I know that sounds like abusing the policy, but I was given another chance to write Serenity and the result was a very fine piece of work. In any case, I'll be keeping an eye on these two articles to watch for any improvement--or lack, thereof. Since deletion-surviving articles are pretty much on probation ("passing with a D" or whatever else it might be referred to), lack of sufficient improvement is almost always a convincing reason to huff later. This is especially true when the decision to keep rests on a promise to rebuild.
If precautionary measures would be appropriate, we could always tag them for rewrites after they are kept. A construction tag might be best, since they are primarily by one author. Otherwise, it's too old for ICU, so maybe a medium rewrite tag? Never mind, he's already done that for us.
In any case, thanks for offering to rewrite them, Kevin. It will be much appreciated if these are turned into something more relevant for today. If this really is about the 2000 election, might I suggest a more obvious retrospective look at it? Such an approach might be more enduring as time passes. -- Tinypony.gif Sir "TheSlyPony" Invariably certifiable. Rap sheet. His shameless obsession. 02:15, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

I don't have an agenda, really. I could just as easily have written a blue state version as well. It just so happens, when I started this article I was watching an episode of Will & Grace and Will said, "The Red States Hate Us". That inspired the whole red states idea in my head, and I started inserting it as a thing into other articles. I think I red linked it, and ultimately started a stub. While re-reading it, upon my promise to rework it, I found everything you said to be true. But was pretty sure it was all subsequent edits from my original offering. I have not gone through the edit history, so if you have and found me to be incorrect, I will use the must have been drunk defense. Because a lot of the crap is just not how I think, and if I did, I would word it differently. In the rewrite, I left a lot of the diatribe, but softened it. "appears" "seems to" I changed antichrist to robot santa. My vision of this page is a city that time forgot, or one that is in a planned community of stepford wives. But its Parody. Satire. Mainstreet USA meets, Mr Rogers Neighborhood meets Stepford Wives. I could just as easily create a land populated by the opposite.

Which brings me to the reason I even came to your talk page: I found a page that seems to fit the same pattern as you found on Red States: International Academy of Design and Technology to me it comes off like a blog about someones personal bad experience anonymized, but not an article. I am a bit gun shy about vfd or not, but figured you're experience could clue me in as to if my instincts were correct.--K3vin-Yak-Bak MUN,CM,NS 17:17, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

The lesson to be learned is: you write it (or save it), you own it. The physics of a wiki is extremely accelerated entropy, and articles instantly turn to crap unless they have an owner who works to weave contributions by I.P.Anon into a coherent whole. (Though based on all the extreme things you have written in the last week, I'm equally willing to also believe that the "diatribe" is all yours. And, no, I'm not going to pore through the History to find out which it is.) Spıke ¬ 17:48 5-Apr-11
PS--International Academy is unambiguously VFD-worthy, and I'll take it in. Spıke ¬ 17:51 5-Apr-11

Dinosaur made it into queue!
