Here you can see the Spanish site. They introduced adds. I don't know if I hate them or despise them. But that's just my view. It does give you an idea of what the site can look like with them. By the way...this article is a translation of BlackFlamingo's Salamander article...which is my favourite article of all time. --ShabiDOO 15:14, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
- The ad banner chiefly sucks because there's not enough space between it and the article. It's not horribly bad otherwise - but rather not if there's a choice. -- Style Guide 16:49, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
- I don't understand Spanish but that banner looks like it is promoting a writing competition. We had a similar (much less ugly) banner last month promoting donations. Site notice banners are not the same as ads. -- The Zombiebaron 18:59, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
- I speak intermediate spanish. Escribe articulos básicos means "(command)Write basic articles". — 20:05:42 2013/03/20 UTC
- And "Participa ya y gana milliones de dolares zimbabuenses" means "(command)Participate ??? and (command)gain millions of Zimbabwean dollars". — 20:12:31 2013/03/20 UTC
- Nope. That's just their site notice. They're promoting a writing a contest. --EMC [TALK] 20:19 Mar 20 2013
- Im really sorry guys. I ought to have read the add first. Yeah its a contest banner. Though I have to say the contests there are pretty poor. Ive never seen an articke come out of one that would be featurable by our standards. Imho of course. --ShabiDOO 23:18, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
- To be fair, if your "reading pages and judging the quality thereof" level is the same as your "reading one banner at the top of one page before making a forum topic on said banner" comprehension level, you're no judge of quality. We need better banners
Though we don't have the money to do that. 09:29, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Luckily, putting a banner in our sitenotice is free. -- The Zombiebaron 16:34, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Actually
Inciclopedia's mobile version does have ads. How lame. --EMC [TALK] 15:31 Mar 28 2013
