When one is a writer in Uncyclopedia, one has to find a good topic or title for the article. Sometimes we get something that is hard to spin an idea out of, therefore it is safe from any attempts to steal the idea. Other times, we find such a good topic, that paranoia is invoked in whoever came up with the idea, despite the fact that it has been 2 years to come up with such an idea. Therefore, I have the idea to make a possible reservation list for those juicy ideas. When put on this reservation list, one must first get the permission of the reserver to work on the article. My question is: What do you think? --Nordamus Icons-flag-us.png (blab • crap) 20:28, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure about a list, most mainspace ideas seem to be user-specific, mostly because everyone's brain works differently. However on say an UnNews story, things sometimes go differently, especially when a story is so perfect for UnNews. For proof, see here and here. I made a page at the same time Weebils did, and the result is 2 very similar stories. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon Baloon.gif(Tick Tock) (Contribs) 20:34, Oct 14
Surely the whole point of a wiki is the you don't have to come up with all of an idea - start the page with what you've got, and if anyone else has any ideas for it, they'll add to it, and that in turn might give you more ideas. Just so long as it's fully formed enough that someone doesn't ICU it within minutes of creation. Spang talk 20:54, 14 Oct 2007
But how do you get credit for a feature by doing that? Nobody actually writes articles to "improve" the site. It's all about survival of the sluttiest. Sig pic.PNG Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 21:06, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Shiver me timbers, the skallywag is onto us, lads! Get 'im before 'e digs up our booty! Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 21:16, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

I personally believe, that the purpose of this site is to Vent and do so anonymously because no one would take you seriously otherwise. But to stand in line behind some kind of Reservation List? This defeats the anonymous collaboration of all things wiki. If this becomes the site "anyone can edit, but only under a specific set of arbitrary circumstances, then no. Hmmm... dirty-mouthed IP actually makes a good point. This is Uncyclopedia, and anybody should be free to edit it. Just because someone has an idea for an article brewing doesn't mean that someone else doesn't have an even better idea for the article. Unfortunately, I can't think of a good way to prevent any disputes between two different articles and their respective creators. I'm just throwing this idea out there so that you super-sexy admins can debate on what to do. <Span= Hehehe. This is for you, SbU.> Sexy Admins IP 14:12, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Lots of people seem to have some reservations regarding this suggestions... *gulp*, no turning back now.--Vosnul 20:59, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
If that was a pun I think I'm gonna have to kill you. Sig pic.PNG Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 21:08, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
I agree, no reservations. And as to recognition, just put your bylines in your 'user:' page. Then create a link within your article to your 'user:' page...thats what i would do if i desired credit.--Finnius 23:48, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Credit comes from being in the history page of the article. Or you can boast on the talk page if you like. As to conflicts, I've never seen the problem with having two articles on a subject. You can usually think of a similar but different title for one of them if they happen to be incompatible for merging. Then a Whoops template at the top of both sorts the whole thing out just fine. Or they can be cheeky and ignore each other entirely, as with this and this. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 08:36, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
