We've got a problem. Google Search still returns the pages at the wikia.com domain instead of here. This is because the new website is considered "duplicate content" and they will of course rank the original higher than the current one in search results because of this.

How do we remedy this? I have thought up two plans of action:

  1. Write an open letter to Google, Yahoo!, and the other search engines informing them that we've actually moved to uncyclopedia.co and we'd like them to remove the old site from their indices. It's being open about the issue, but it won't guarantee that they give us what we want.
  2. Issue DMCA takedown notices. They might not know why we're doing it, nor will they give a fuck, but they will be forced to comply. DMCA notifications should be signed and done individually (with your own name) so it doesn't look like "Uncyclopedia" is making copyright claims to its own stuff. We should probably only do this if they don't listen to the open letter.
