Charlie Puth
Charles Ottoman Ferdinand Wilhelm Churchill Clemenceau Pershing Hitler Roosevelt Stalin Eisenhower MacArthur Mussolini Tojo de Gaulle Puth Jr. (born December 2, 1991) is an American singer, songwriter, time-traveler, and Shawn Mendes wannabe. He has been mistaken as being a zoomer, but he's actually a millennial. His first exposure came from the viral success of his songs on YouTube. Puth signed with Ellen DeGeneres' label eleventwelve after performing in her show, and also wrote and produced songs for other artists. Eventually he got signed to another label after being allegedly mentally abused by Ellen DeGeneres. His real debut song, which was a cover of Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On", featured Meghan Trainor of all artists, was released in 2015. That year he got more fame after being featured in Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again", which ended up being overplayed to death.
Puth's debut studio album, Nine Live Mind, was released to target young girls who were upset most of the time. It gained some commercial success, but critics weren't too happy about it because he tried too hard to do so. They also think he's the modern equivalent to Kevin Federline, even though Puth didn't abuse women. Other hits from said album include "We Still Talk" (featuring Selena Gomez) and "Two Messages Back". His second album, Voicemail was released 3 years later except that it kinda improved, but that's not saying much. Some of his most popular songs from that album include "Attention Whore" and "Get Out Of My Room". His third studio album released in 2022, entitled Charles featured hits like "My Erect Dick" and "Up and Down" (featuring Jungkook from BTS). Somehow Charles manages to make his debut studio album sound like a masterpiece.
In recent years, he has done several thirst traps, and a lot of men masturbate over his photos because of his hairy armpits. Maybe they'll never care about his music career.
Early life[edit | edit source]
Puth was born on December 2, 1991 in New Jersey. As you'd expect from his full name, his parents are of European descent. However, he allegedly has a relative who is Japanese. He has two younger siblings. At 2 years old, his right eyebrow was scarred in a dog bite incident, which nearly killed him. This is why he prefers cats over dogs. People recognize him through this scar on his right eyebrow. His mother introduced him to classical music at 10, and recorded his first album, which were actually covers of Christmas songs.
Career[edit | edit source]
2009-2014: Early beginnings[edit | edit source]
In September 2009, he decided to start his own YouTube channel, entitled Charlies Vlogs which was a mix of comedy videos and acoustic covers. He was a huge fan of YouTubers such as Nigahiga, Smosh, and Miranda Sings. However, he wanted to take his music career really seriously so he decided to post more acoustic covers. In the following year he released his first original song, "I'm Sexy And You Know It". In December 2010, he released his debut EP, The Puth Tapes. In 2011, he won a music contest sponsored by Paris Hilton, which was a cover of Adele's "Someone Like You" featuring Emily Luther. The prize was getting signed to Ellen Degeneres' label eleventwelve. Both of them decided to collaborate again, this time in an original song called "Break Me Again". He then released other projects that weren't as popular before he gained fame, including an EP called Egotist and a promotional single, "H.A.T.E."
2015-2016: Nine Live Mind[edit | edit source]
In 2015, he decided to remove all his other records from UnTunes and decided to start all over again after being mentally and emotionally abused by Ellen DeGeneres. He released his debut single, a cover of "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye. It somehow managed to get a feature from Meghan Trainor. He gained more fame after he got featured in Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" as part of the Fast and Furious 7 soundtrack. You'll never go a day without that song being played over and over again, even to this day. In May 2015, he released his major label debut EP, called 5 Love Songs. Somehow he managed to secure another feature, this time from Lil Wayne, entitled "Something With Trouble". Other than that he continued to write and produce songs for more popular artists. The second single for his debut album, entitled "Two Messages Back", would be released on August 20, 2015. In 2016, his debut studio album, Nine Live Mind was released. It was so horrible that critics have called him the "next Kevin Federline", even though he never dated and actually isn't a misogynist. Also, he doesn't do rap songs.
2017-2018: Voicemail[edit | edit source]
In 2017, he released another song that is considered to be one of his most overrated songs, called "Attention Whore". That was the lead single of his upcoming second studio album. The second single of his second studio album, called "Get Out Of My Room" was released on October 5, 2017, and unlike "Attention Whore", this one was also played in radios but not as much as the former. He somehow managed to feature Boys II Men for the first promotional single of his then-unnamed second studio album, entitled "If You Start Dating Me". Other songs from the album include "I'm Done For You" featuring Kehlani, "I Hate Guns" featuring James Taylor (surprisingly), and "The Way You Are". Voicemail was released in May 2018 and critics believed that it was an improvement over Nine Live Mind.
2019-present: Charles[edit | edit source]
In 2019, he released three singles that were meant to be on his third studio album, but never did. Those songs were "I Hate Myself", "Father" and "Breaking Up With You". In 2020, he released 2 singles that were also meant to be in his third studio album. Neither of them were in that album. These songs were "Boyfriend" and "Easy on Myself" featuring Blackbear. Puth would then release the real lead single of his third studio album, entitled "My Erect Dick", after a snippet of it went viral on TikTok. Other singles followed suit, and a slew of new songs were coming in during the year. Those songs, in order, were "That's Not Funny", which was released on April of the same year, "Up and Down" featuring Jungkook from BTS in August, and in September, "Smells Like You", "I Think I Like Her", and "Charles Wake Up!". Charles was released on October 7 of the same year and critics thought that it was even worse than Nine Live Mind.
