About you taking my article off VFH!

My article Everybody Hates Dubya (Television Series) was in Pee Review for a week just transferred the page to a more appealing name so it would get more people to vote on it! So I'm goign to put it back up, I know you didn't know but just wanted to tell you everything was legit on that article, and if 25 articles have already posted I think it's only fair it gets to go back up seeing as it was a mistake to take it down.--Dr. Fenwick 23:17, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey, just so you know, you can move pages, so just tell me which one you want to delete, and I'll get rid of your duplicate. That messed me up, since I couldn't find the pee review of it. Sorry for the confusion, it had to do with procedure, mainly.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 01:08, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey Brad, could you do me a favor and delete Uncyclopedia:Pee Review/Everybody Hates Dubya (Television Series)? I added this and took the article off VFH before reading this exchange. The "Time for some new adminses" Thing

Hey, I just wanted to put some suggestions towards the "Time for some new adminses" forum topic. I know the voting is closed, but can I just state that the current "Round up as many candidates as possible and then close the voting" system is kinda annoying? Because what people started doing is nominate all the people they could think of before it was too late. A preferable system (In my opinion) would be similar to the old VFS, where there was only one page, and people aren't rushed to nominate people, and people (Such as This person) wouldn't be nominated until they were fully ready. Please reply soon, Small Pineapple2.png» >ZEROTROUSERS!!! EAT ME!!!! CRAZY PERSON! SMELLY!!! ILLOGIC, BEHOLD!!!!~» 06:12, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

The whole idea behind the page was to get people thinking. I'm hoping we can one day get another VFS page going that doesn't rely on people voting quickly, which is what caused the problem this time, methinks.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 11:45, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

VFH Procedure

I added the following coments to the "Darwin Rule"

Note, however, that Darwin rule also relates to articles that have fewer votes than an article slated for removal that is younger than it. - shouldn't it be "fewer or equal to" since if two articles have the same number of votes, the older one has had more time to accumulate them?

If there is a tie the younger article will die - once you put all the rules together, the article with fewer votes dies anyway (or an even older article with fewer than either). But if they have the same number of votes, the younger article dies, when it should be the older one. Rogpyvbc 06:06, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I keep having to explain what I'm doing with this to people, and even with the written down procedure, it's apparent people are still misunderstanding what I'm saying. Here's an example of how QFH works. Let's say the articles below are on VFH on December 7, when some articles need to be taken down.
Fishing for Feces Score +4, nommed 12-7 3 PM
Mein Comp Score +7, nommed 12-6 3 PM
Euroipods Score +3, nommed 12-5 3 PM
Super-intelligent pigeons Score +12, nommed 12-4 3 PM
How I did it - I mean would have done it Score +1, nommed 12-3 3 PM
Nobody Understands me Score +3, nommed 12-2, 3 PM
AAAAAAAAA! Score +100, nommed 12-1, 3 PM
Fisher Price Score +17, nommed 11-30, 3 PM
Barns and Nobles +21, nommed 11-29, 3 PM
"Fishing for feces" is safe, because it's less than 24 hours old. Every other article has a chance to be taken down, however. In this example, "Euroipods" and "Fisher Price" have the worst score in relation to the other articles, with a minimum difference of four from both the above and below articles. As Euroipods is newer, and thus has had less time to accumulate votes to make a difference of this size, it is the one slated for removal. There are older articles with lower or equal scores than it has, however. Those articles will be removed first. So in this instance, "Nobody Understands me" would be removed first, followed immediately by "How I did it - I mean would have done it." If only one of these is removed, it would be the older one "Nobody understands me".
I hope this practical example helps you understand how I go about taking things off of VFH. QFH is simply looking at the articles in relation to the most recently featured article and seeing if it had any chance to catch it. If it's accumulated 25% of the score of that recently featurd article, it gets the QFH.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 12:10, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
I haven written the same example in a slightly different way at QFH, where I will try to send people with this question in the future.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 14:53, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
So when does the board game come out? I'm picturing it like Family Feud, but with articles "...and your host, Braaaaada....phrazzzzzaaah!". Also, this isn't my talkpage. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 18:06, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Heh, I'm hoping we can avoid that. Incidentally, did you that we had 93 articles on VFH on December 7, 2005? True story.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 18:13, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
It's a day that will live in infamy. Um, maybe that was a different December 7. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 18:15, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
In me? Not sure I like the sounds of that. Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 05/23 21:54

I haven't misunderstood anything - your example does exactly what I've suggested. But your example doesn't follow your rules, since your rules say "fewer than" and the example suggests "fewer or equal to." And if there's a tie in distance from neighbouring articles, the article with fewer votes will always die: the younger article by virtue of the "younger article dies" rule, or the older article by virtue of the fact it has fewer votes and is older (unless there is an even older article with fewer votes). These are the exact points I was making. The only thing you need to do is to clarify the "or equal to." Rogpyvbc 00:11, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Alright then. I guess I did that. PROBLEM SOLVED! /me breaks out the champagne to celebrate.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 02:30, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Hahaha....sucker! -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)
Sweet. Keep in mind that I'll help with any questions you've got. It's really not that bad. Here's what you'll need to do.
  1. Secure the funds for the prizes. (Wikia will usually pony up the cash; sannse is a good contact. You can find her in IRC.)
  2. Promote the competition. Wikia will help with this also. We can actually put out a press release. How cool is that?
  3. Come up with a format for the competition (ie: what will you be awarding? The last couple of competitions awarded best overall, best rewrite, and best by a n00b.) You can decide the categories this time. There have been suggestions on the forum... I've forgotten where exactly. I'm pretty sure they're linked on the PLS page, but I'll have to check.
  4. Choose the judges for each competition. You want people who are responsible (ie: won't skip out on judging), know what funny is, and that want to do it. We've already had a lot of volunteers, so it this seems like it'll be one of the easier tasks you'll have.
  5. Logistics. Have a plan for what will happen when. Having a plan for this will help you later. I had a two week period when people can add articles, followed by a two-week period of judging. It's up to you.
  6. Finally, you are responsible to make sure that the competition is fair. This is by far the hardest part of the competition. I can make suggestions here, if you want, but this is your baby, so you don't have to listen to anything you don't want to.  ;)
Well, that's all I can think of. Feel free to ask any questions. I'll be here to help whenever you need it.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 13:25, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Vandals from Wikipedia?

With potato-based wines, this has been rated one of the finest Wikipubs in the world.

Why did you implement that into the Uncyclopedia:Bureaucrats article? I ask because I really don't like bashing that site. =/ It's how I found this one. Conniving 13:48, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

It's a joke. Often times, the good fellows at Wikipedia will tell their vandals that their vandalism isn't appreciated and that it'd be "more acceptable at Uncyclopedia." This is sometimes true, and we appreciate them sending folks our way... unless the people are complete jerks who have no social skills or desire to be constructive.
Don't get me wrong, a good percentage of our best contributors come from Wikipedia (well over 50%, more in the 80-90% range), it's just that most of our vandals come from there, too. Plus, it's fun to poke fun at our "bigger cousins."--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 13:58, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
