Welcome![edit source]

Hello, BlueSpiritGuy, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. Anyway, here are a few good links for people like you:

If you read anything at all, make it the above three links. If you want to find out more about Uncyclopedia or need more help with something, try these:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Button sig.png) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date.

At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:BlueSpiritGuy/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.

If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!

If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome!  ChiefjusticeDS 17:02, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

Adopt-a-n00b[edit source]

Hi, in response to your query on my talk page, you may now consider yourself adopted!

If you would like to tell the world about this miraculous change in your fortunes then copy this: {{Adoptee|ChiefjusticeDS}} onto your user page page where it will blossom into a glorious template. Feel free to contact me at any and all times with any questions you may have about using the wiki, no matter how small or trivial. Have fun! --ChiefjusticeDS 17:42, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

Incidentally, I hope my conversation with Orian below your adoption request doesn't put you off asking me anything, I will always be serious with any problems or questions you have and do my best to help. Thanks. --ChiefjusticeDS 18:33, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

Howdy[edit source]

As last month's Noob of the Month, I wanted to let you know I just voted for you. Yes, if you're like I was last month you'll be checking the voting page about five times a minute, so you may already know this. But I wanted to welcome you anyway. I really like the work you've done on Julius Malema, especially how you incorporated real info into your fiction. One thing that's becoming rare on this joke encyclopedia is articles that actually sound like an encyclopedia. (Also I'm currently in a competition with ChiefjusticeDS, and being friendly with his noob might get me an inside track on his secret plans. Oh, wait, I shouldn't have said that part.) King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  20:44, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

Yes, you are right, I am checking the page every two minutes. Not five. And thanks a lot! I'll be posting official thank you's later on, just very busy at the moment. Oh and judging from the comment you left on NotM I can see you've done your homework! That's very diligent. And it is going to make me ask you a favour later on... Oh and I don't know much about Chiefs secret plans. I mean, what secret plans? --BlueSpiritGuy 07:34, October 13, 2009 (UTC)
I honestly knew virtually nothing about Malema, so read the article on Wikipedia--that's the extent of my homework. I found that quote and added your name to it. I liked your article before I read the Wikipedia one, and liked it better once I knew a little about him. Sure, feel free to ask me a favor. Of course I might say no. As for Chief's secret plans, if you did know you'd probably say you didn't, or else it wouldn't be secret. (And actually we don't really have a competition, we just both decided to catch up on the backlog of Pee Reviews at the same time, and happened to do the same number of reviews). King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  23:02, October 13, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, Chief tells me you're quite the reviewer. Or PEE-er. What's it called? Which brings me to the favour... You'll see on the discussion page of Julius Chief told me (at the Extra comments) that there is still some work to be done. I then left a message to Orian there, but he is hard to get hold of. So if you could just take a look at what I told him, the "better idea" I mentioned and tell me what you think of it. Just two sentences or so would be fine. Unless you feel that you want to express yourself all over the talk page. I aim to complete the article this Friday. And don't worry, most people know virtually nothing about Malema, but I don't think the world should be deprived of his charismaticness any longer. Hence the article... --BlueSpiritGuy 08:01, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
A compliment like that from Chief means a lot. I think you can call it whatever you want. Also I posted some ideas on the discussion page. King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  17:56, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
Also you may not know that's it's perfectly acceptable here to vote for yourself as NotM. Voting for yourself/article/etc. seems to be the norm here. King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  19:02, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

You remember turning your head suddenly last Thursday? Well, that has caused me a great deal of problems. You disturbed a small fly, who landed in confusion and thus was eaten by some lizard, which then decided to rest for a bit, which meant....well, the short version is I've got to pay a bunch of money to get my truck fixed. And I know it's all your fault, because Dirk Gently told me so. (Seriously, I miss Douglas Adams). King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  18:39, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

I don't believe you. Luckily I've got my electric monk do believe these tedious things for me. You said it. Douglas was the best. --41.145.57.205 20:23, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
And I did it again. This time on my own talk page. --BlueSpiritGuy 20:23, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
There there, it happens to the best of us. That doesn't stop it being exceptionally humiliating though! --ChiefjusticeDS 20:45, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
You're right. It doesn't. I could always say that it was some anonymous user. You know: "Ah damnit, these anon users coming in leaving comments on my talk page. Wish they would stop."--BlueSpiritGuy 20:49, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
That's what I do. 86.854.32.179 21:02, October 16, 2009 (UTC)
Ah damnit, these anon users coming in leaving comments on my talk page. Wish they would stop.--BlueSpiritGuy 21:07, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

Julius Malema[edit source]

A few comments on the article, which I like.

I took the liberty of making some grammatical changes on the article, but please check these and see if they work for you. Some of my "corrections" may simply reflect my ignorance of South African English. Feel free to revert any or all of my changes.

Also you told what ANCYL stood for, but not ANC. A South African likely wouldn't be confused, but for readers from other parts of the world I would put ANC (African National Congress) at the first usage of ANC (also check my edits--I may inadvertently have changed an ANC to ANCYL--sorry if I did.)

"He helped fight the Apartheid era in his previous lives. Afterward he soon realized that, even though Apartheid now was a thing of the past, it could still be used as a great resource whenever the new Government made a mistake."--I would like this better if he thinks about Apartheid being a thing of the past, and this is when he suddenly "discovered" he was reincarnated heros. Nobody's going to follow someone who's fighting something that no longer exists, but if he was one of the original fighters of Apartheid, he could gain followers.

I hope this helps! King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  15:41, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

Also if you do edit this and feel it's "really finished," or decide to leave it as is, let me know, OK? King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  15:45, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

Best Noob Article[edit source]

I know time's almost up (a little over a day), but if you can get something together, you might want to think about submitting something for Best Noob Article. (I know Julius technically didn't qualify). An UnNews article might be one of the fastest things to write as you can just takeoff from a real article. Just a suggestion. King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  18:02, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

Just to let you know[edit source]

I added your article on Mr Malema to the front page's recent articles template, for exposure and because I felt like it. Hope you don't mind, if you do mind, storm over to my talk page and tell me. --ChiefjusticeDS 21:20, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

Yay..[edit source]

I am not a minority anymore :D then again I'm not technically in South Africa anymore anyway. But I digress... welcome to Uncyclopedia. I'm sure you'll like it here. That Julius Malema article is absolute gold! Keep it up! Anyway, I see you've been adopted but if you need anything feel free to drop by my talk page. I'm not on here that much anymore and all I really do is pics but yeah... Man, I suck at this welcoming committee thing O_o --Dame Sonjesig.pngCherry-blossom.gif 11:06, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

Also...[edit source]

I seriously like the Julius Malema article. I would like to nom it for VFH if you are done with it. A few notes though. Seeing as most of the users here are not familiar with anything remotely South African, there are a few more clarifications that you will need to add.

  1. 1: You mention his 'matric' certificate, you may want to put a footnote in stating what matric is cause foreigners are not familiar with the term. You do this in the caption for the pic of his results but not in the 'language' section which comes before the pic.
  2. 2: The Rand symbol might also be a tad mysterious to some readers (forgive me but I assume that the world is filled with idiots). So to clarify, you may want to put a converted currency in brackets or as a footnote. Either $ or £ should work.
  3. 3: There are still a few formatting issues. The wikipedia link should be higher up in the article and I don't think all of the pictures are aligned to the best area of the article.

--Dame Sonjesig.pngCherry-blossom.gif 11:30, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

And yes, it is safe to assume the world is filled with idiots. --BlueSpiritGuy 12:12, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
I started messing about with the image placement. Personally, I prefer it when images are mostly right aligned cause it looks better. The images you hava are great but I think you need one or two more for the end of the article. The image needs to be placed in the section that it is relevant to. You have loads of images but they are all relevant to the first half of the article and not so many for the second half. The last sangoma one for example. It's a good joke but it should actually also be towards the top, and you really dont have any more space there. I would suggest leaving that one out and finding another pic or two for the second half of the article. I'm a bit busy today but if I have time I'll try and make you a pic tomorrow. --Dame Sonjesig.pngCherry-blossom.gif 12:45, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
Sonje, I already said I wanted to nominate it when it's done! I was NotM last month and my first article here got featured (as of right now) and I want to see somebody follow in my footsteps. But you South Africans really stick together, don't you? Fine. I'm going to hold my breath until I turn blue! (Personally, I like images to the left and right, just like a real on-paper magazine. Other than that, I agree with Sonje). King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  18:01, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
Just sticking my oar in here, but he is my n00b. Yeah, umm, I'm going now. --ChiefjusticeDS 18:17, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
You want to nominate it and be accused of Nepotism? Ha! (And ignore the fact that my article was nominated by the person who adopted me. That's not the same thing at all. Really). King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  18:26, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
No, I just wanted to point it out, especially since Sonje is enticing him with her South African.... stuff. Just because I'm from the north of England doesn't make me any less fascinating! --ChiefjusticeDS 19:10, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry Chief, I am like my pet elephant, I never forget. And you've done a truckload of work on proofing and helping me with ol' Julius. So much that I feel guilty to ask any more of you, so I'm starting to dump my sorrows on some other users. But I am still your n00b. I'm still gonna come running to you when someone is mean with me. Or if I need a talk page to vandalize. --BlueSpiritGuy 19:20, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
That is what I am here for! Oh and.... Surprise grammar correction attack!! --ChiefjusticeDS 19:25, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
I agree on "you're". But for your information, it is once again proper English to start a sentence with a conjunction such as "and". (If it was good enough for King James and Shakespeare, it's good enough for me. And notice how I started a sentence with "but".) :-P King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  19:30, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
You see? Without you all my "your" would be "you're" end all my "their" would be "they're" and so on... and so forth... I do apologize, as I have seen that you're quite serious about proofreading and grammar. I really do try to use proper English, it just sometimes slips my mind. But all this uncyclopedia-ing should get me back on track in no time. So please bear with me and feel free to correct me --BlueSpiritGuy 19:41, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
First, nobody but anal-retentive types like Chief and I care if anyone has proper spelling and grammar on a user talk page (Actually, I don't care about it on talk pages as long as I understand it). Second, without grammar to fix and articles to Pee Review, Chief and I would be sitting outside under a tree in the rain correcting each other endlessly. Happy editing! King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  19:48, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
Come on, you know you would love that. --ChiefjusticeDS 20:55, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
Well, in that case I will make it my oblivious mission to always make sure that you guys have something to korrect.--BlueSpiritGuy 21:45, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
I just tracked down Chief's first edit here, on 9 June 2009: [1]. See that? A minor grammar correction. I knew it would be! King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  02:56, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
Sorry Chief, didn't mean to hi-jack your noob there. I don't care who noms it, just let me know when you do so I can vote Symbol for vote.svg For. Carry on gentlemen. --Dame Sonjesig.pngCherry-blossom.gif 09:54, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
It's no real problem, I shall be voating 4 when it appears. See, that is correct because I never punctuate when I update the list or do edit summaries. --ChiefjusticeDS 10:28, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Take this![edit source]

I noticed you had no awards, and decided that that had to stop.

--ChiefjusticeDS 10:44, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Now that is awesome. Really man. I have a fetish for ninja stars. Never ends well, 'specially the sharp ones. But thanks, you make a n00bs day --BlueSpiritGuy 11:14, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

I second that star, and for the same reasons. King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  18:46, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks[edit source]

ChiefjusticeDS.jpg Chief would like thank you for voting for him to be UotM for October

Thanks! It means a lot to me, which is quite depressing on it's own.

--ChiefjusticeDS 15:37, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

Julius Malema[edit source]

Just a note that I noticed on the article the Traditionalism and Language sections each have a photo that scrunch text between them. People generally don't seem to like that here (Why, I don't know, but I've gotten complaints when I've done it). Anyway, you might want to move one of the pics. Happy editing! King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  22:45, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

Aha, thank you. As a matter of fact I did wonder about it, it kinda hinders the eye a bit. But I don't know where else to put those pictures. I'll have to take one out, there is plenty of pictures in the article. Which one would you say doesn't belong? I'm voting for the vuvuzela one to go. --BlueSpiritGuy 06:49, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Only thing is most of your readers will have no idea what a vuvuzela is without that pic. Personally, I'd take out "The sangoma who facilitated the reincarnation" because in the small size it's hard to pick out details (and maybe use the other photo as the one who did it), and really I don't think "Julius demonstrating a pose called thinking Malema." adds much except to avoid a lot of writing without a pic. But that's just my opinion. King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  07:56, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Gotcha. That makes a lot of sense, that first sangoma aint that nice. About thinking Malema, it was my desperate attempt to fix the void of pictures in the second half of the article. So that pic was actually to avoid a lot of writing without a pic. If you think the article doesn't need it, I'll take it out. --BlueSpiritGuy 09:27, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
To me it's fine having that extra pic as it breaks up the text. I remember back in the old days, people read whole books without pictures; damn kids. (Seriously, I've noticed that I can read page after page of a book without pictures, but staring at a lit computer screen with just text tends to lose me. Weird). King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  19:28, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Then it's settled. I'll leave the pic there. Oh and if you're in the neighborhood, The vuvuzela pic and the high school grades now look kind of... I dunno... squashed? Or is it just me. Here's a handy dandy link you can use: Julius Malema --BlueSpiritGuy 20:25, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Looks OK to me. But what if you did this:
Julius puppet Julius Malema1
A vuvuzela Julius Malema
King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  22:29, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Yes that could work, then it looks like the baby is blowing into Julius' ear. Mmmm, I quite like the current one too, looking as if Julius is giving a look of contempt to the being making the same noises as him. See, now you've gone and given me something else to ponder about and I'm like a woman looking for a pair of shoes when it comes to making decisions. --BlueSpiritGuy 10:16, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

VFH King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  20:21, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

One suggestion: I'd explain what Tokkelosh is in note 6. Many non-South Africans will have no idea what that is. King of the Internet Alden Loveshade??? (royal court)  20:51, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Why, for all the advice and help. To you and Chief. --BlueSpiritGuy 23:37, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Where are you?[edit source]

I was just looking around on VFH to see how Mr Malema was doing and realised that I haven't heard much from you recently, so I thought I would swing by to see what was happening. What's happening?? --ChiefjusticeDS 09:54, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Yes! Hello, I've had some serious computer problems. Add that to South African broadband and that's where I've been. But I'm back now! Thanks for caring..--BlueSpiritGuy 17:31, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

South African Stamp of Approval[edit source]

I've send the link of your Julius article to the South African part of my family, and you got a big stamp of approval on it :) ~Jewriken.GIF 11:45, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Mr Mordillo, really appreciate it! I'll try to forward it to the ANC youth league and see if they like it.--BlueSpiritGuy 17:27, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

Graduation[edit source]

There was a kind of inevitability about this, I raised the suggestion a few weeks ago and said I would hold it back until after you took Julius to VFH. Now that he is smiling at me from the front page I feel the time has come to bestow this upon you.

Many congratulations and stuff, well done for all your hard work. If you have any further questions in future then don't hesitate to ask, I shall be around. Otherwise well done (remember to change the AAN template on your user page for this one), now get out of my attic! --ChiefjusticeDS 18:10, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

Many thanks! Wow, it feels like just yesterday the uncyc stork dropped me off in your home. I couldn't have asked for a better one. Now I'm moving in to Why's homeless revolution. Oh and Chief, thanks. For everything. Words cannot describe. I'm once again overloaded with work, but you can be sure as hell I'll be creating new articles in a matter of time and then I'll be bumming in your attic again for advice.

Many thanks. And much respect. --BlueSpiritGuy 18:43, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

You aren't dead! How the hell are you? --ChiefjusticeGameBoy 20:27, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

Damn you're fast to pick up! Was just going to leave you a message. I'm real good actually, my studies are really taking of, but they keep me busy 24/7. Also, there's that little issue of left 4 dead 2. I'm burning to write something again. How are you????--BlueSpiritGuy 20:31, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
Ticking over, doing shifts and uni right now so it is a miracle I'm here as much as I am. I was only that quick to notice because I was patrolling for vandalism, being an exciting and debonair chap. Well we will all still be here when you are available again, I hope to see more work from you in future. Left 4 Dead 2 is quite good, though I found the first provided a much purer experience and was more fun in a lot of ways. But however you find it, it is good to see you alive and well, hope to see you a bit more soon. --ChiefjusticeGameBoy 20:38, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
You are right, left 4 dead 1 was legend. Though, left 4 dead 2 got my pirate Lan clan excited about killing zombies again, so they are actually playing it again. Which makes me a very happy person/being/thing. I will be available in the not so distant future again, I hope. Been doing a scripture lately, and all the proofreading and rewriting made me think of you (sob). And seeing Malema's latest circus act, thought I'd pop by just for a while. Oh, and check your news. Our culturally motivated multi-wived g-string wearing president is visiting your country of colonialist devils! Probably to get financial aid. Or AIDS. Or both. DAMN, Africa is one big joke! Makes me proud to live here.--BlueSpiritGuy 20:45, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
