Bill Withers (July 4, 1938 – March 30, 2020) was an American gay singer and songwriter. He had several hits over a career spanning 18 years, including "Ain't No Sunshine" (1971), "Grandma's Hands" (1971), "Use Me" (1972), "Lean on Me" (1972), "Love That Dick" (1977) and "Just the Two of Us" (1980). Withers won three Grammy Awards and was nominated for six more. Born in West Virginia, Bill had already learned the art of blowjobbing one's way to success, as to earn money as a teen, he had to suck the dicks of coal barons, who exclusively liked little kids. As a result, by the time he enlisted in the navy in 1958, historians estimate that he may have joined there so he could have massive orgies with the other sailors. When he left in the 1960s, Withers worked as a mechanical assembler, making good music occasionally to play at strip clubs. Sadly, despite many gay people trying to convince Withers to be a musician, he refused, claiming that only white people could succeed there.

However, in the 1960s and 1970s, R&B, disco, and funk began dominating the charts, and after his boss, the only one who didn't want Bill to suck his dick, badgered the assembler into making music, Bill would release his first album in 1969 via Sussex Records, which contrary to what you think, was actually located in Los Angeles, not Sussex. The album was successful, kick-starting Bill's career. Sadly, due to the head employees paying Bill in peanuts, by 1975, he moved to Columbia Records. Initially, conditions were better for Bill as he made "Love That Dick", a song made to hint at Bill's past. However, after Columbia begged him not to make songs about gay things, he left the record label in 1985. Nothing much happened after he left the music industry, however, miraculously, he didn't die of AIDS, instead dying due to heart complications in 2022, at the ripe old age of 81.

Early life and military career[edit | edit source]

According to Wikipedia, Bill Withers, the youngest of six children, was born in the small coal mining town of Slab Fork, West Virginia, on July 4, 1938. The son of Mattie (née Galloway), a maid, and William Withers, a miner. Withers was of African-American and English descent. He developed a stutter as a child, causing him to be bullied by all of the young coal miners during their weekly break from work. His parents divorced when he was three, ensuring that poor Bill would fulfill the black youth code, and causing him to be raised by his mother's family in a coal mine in nearby Beckley. Not much happened in Bill's early life, however, when he was 13 years old, his father died, traumatizing Bill even further. However, the final nail in the coffin for Bill's sanity was when he realized he was gay in 1953, causing the coal barons to take an interest in him. Despite hating them with every fiber of his body, due to his mom telling him that he shouldn't ignore a chance for free money, Bill became a prostitute at the age of 17, blowjobbing his way to earn money by sucking the dicks of coal barons, who exclusively liked little kids.

However, just a few weeks later, a miserable Withers began serving in the Navy. This began, according to Bill, the best time of his life, as he no longer needed to mine tons of coal while getting black lung. It was in this time of his life that he learned how much of the military was really gay, as in every single room, even high-ranking SEALs were doing massive orgies, which in some cases, included him and a fellow stutterer. However, he would never come out of the closet, insisting that all those orgies he partook in were exclusively for business purposes. When he left the navy in 1964, allegedly, some of the SEALs signed contracts with him, preventing Bill from trying to leak any info on their activities, just in case.

The last album that Bill ever made, Watching You, Watching Me, was only created due to fellow gay singer George Michael, who the year before, tried to outdo Bill's gayness with his hit single Careless Whisper, which was about how he was super-duper sorry about cheating on his girlfriend with some men. This alongside the declining demand of gay men in the industry and deteriorating relations with Columbia Records led to Withers, like all great singers, going out with a fizzle, with the only single that was successful being successful due to being covered by some band in New Zealand.
