Forum:Shitty obscure MMOs = vanity?
So, I'm sure some of you... well, maybe a few of you... just me? All right then. I remember back when that person Kanomi thought that the article on Gaia Online was slanderous and lie-filled and was "not allowed". Of course, everyone that had a few minutes on their hands bitched her (him?) out for it. Eventually, the article got CVP'd or something.
I'm noticing a similar situation lately, only with the article 2moons and an anonymous IP. From what I notice, there are three people who edit (or even read) articles on shitty obscure MMOs:
- Obsessive fans of the MMO, who either create masturbatory praise of it or vandalise things that put the MMO in a negative light
- People who just make fun of the MMO and those who play it, forsaking humor
- Users who happen to catch a vandalism from either side, and revert it
None of these articles get anywhere except baleeted, so I'm thinking maybe we should classify all shitty obscure MMOs as vanity material. Hell, we don't even have to stop at MMOs, if there's other shitty obscure games around. I just notice that MMOs are the worst case. Man, for something so patently cookie-cutter unoriginal, they sure grab a lot of fans. Ж Kalir, Awesome Author(alliteration affords additional awesome) 04:38, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Shitty, obscure MMOs are as likely to be vanity filled and crappy enough that I'd delete them on sight as your sig is likely to break certain 12px conventions. Point me to the crappy ones, VFD/QVFD/ICU them, and let the process proceed as normal. If they get recreated too many times, we'll CVP them. However, there is always the chance that someone will come along and make something golden out of it. 06/3 14:23
- Hey, that happened only once! But yeah, I'll do that in the future. Peace, Ж Kalir, Awesome Author(alliteration affords additional awesome) 19:27, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- If only a dozen people have heard of the MMO, then it's vanity to me. -- 23:08, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah. New rule: if I haven't heard of it, away it goes. /me runs off to kill the Kingdom of Loathing page.--<<
