Have you had any takers on this? I'm afraid that most uncyclopedians are probably averse to singing, myself included. RAHB might be a good bet though. - B@NZai k!tten BANZAI! (Meow?)B 09:37, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
I was thinking of contacting RAHB. I have had 3 promising leads on Facebook (i control the UnNews page), and I am trying to get Hotadmin to put it up on the uncyclopedia social network pages too.
Even if you are shit at singing, please consider doing the last line - I will be doubling up the efforts of lots of people to create a chorus effect, so it won't be noticed if you hit a few bum notes. Leverage (talk) 12:17, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
I think it is a great idea, unfortunately I don't have a mic. :( Talk Mattsnow 14:40, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
Same. I have no way of recording myself that doesn't sound like complete shit. --Talk to me! Sir Xam Ralco the Mediocre 22:19, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

I've a good mic (Blue Snowball) so I'd feel guilty not to. But can I just sing Eid's no good, let them know it's Christmastime in a badly timed silly accent? --EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(get dtf) 16:31, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Sing whatever you want, although obviously the bigger the chunk of audio, the easier it will be to sync up. Silly voices welcome, I guess badly timed could work. Leverage (talk) 20:52, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Ps. Via Facebook (and a select band of my less sensitive friends) this recording might obviously feature non-Uncyclopedians, so of course if any of you want to get friends involved, that is welcome too.

I don't mind singing, but my mic is the default one that comes with my laptop so its low quality. Also, internet lag. Singsnap (online karaoke site) has a way to fix the internet lag part, and accounts there are free. Here's a link to one of my recordings there: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 21:49, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

The Mp3s are trickling in, we now have four or five vocalists in the mix. Please keep em coming! Leverage (talk) 12:36, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
What does it sound like now? --EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(get dtf) 18:23, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
I am glad you warned me your one was going to be weird. It is sounding more and more like a collection of mental patients. Leverage (talk) 18:28, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
Oh god lol. --EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(get dtf) 21:59, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

Update: We now have six vocalists on this. Don't miss out and end up looking like a cunt! Leverage (talk) 11:25, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

I just did a little research and found the original had only five vocalists on the verses, though many more on the chorus. Is it really necessary to have any more people singing through the whole song? I think it would be best if you adhere to the original's intervals for singer change as much as possible. Unless the chorus sounds wrong and too quiet as it stands, I don't see why that can't be cut into shape as it is. It's quite possible that you have already received sing-throughs from all regular uncyclopedians prepared to do it, and we're all beginning to get annoyed at the incessant advertisements for this. The point is: can't you just put together what you've got and be done with it? --EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(get dtf) 00:36, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
Chill out mate, Leverage is just trying to make this as good as possible and get everyone he can involved. At least he is being incessant about something productive. I, for one, am not annoyed at all. - B@NZai k!tten BANZAI! (Meow?)B 09:14, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, not the most charming comment in the world. Things I would say:
1) If I had five sing-throughs, I'd settle, but what I have got is a few people doing decidedly backing type stuff, a few people doing a couple of lines (some in funny voices, such as yourself) and two actually singing the melody, including me. The problem is, some people did the same lines as other people. In some cases I can double it up, in other cases the versions clash. That's why I asked people to record a chunk so I'd have more to pick from. Funny voices are fine, but sound a bit weird when they are used for extended periods.
2) If you think writing on VfH and making a forum is incessant, you haven't been around for a good Vfh vote whoring.
3) If the song was called Do Islamic State Know It's Easter? I probably wouldn't be so insistent, but if it don't get done soon, it won't get done.
4) If anyone had put as much effort into recording for me as I had for you (i.e. spend 30 minutes recording 6 vocal tracks in three octaves, not get sniffy when the other person picks you up on the one line you sang wrong, export the mp3s so he can tinker with them) I would have been well pleased, and would most likely have not shit in his cornflakes two days later.
5) It's very likely that in 2015, I will be away. My UnNews output has already trailed off in recent months because my creative juices are being extracted professionally, and the forthcoming year promises a little more professional writing. This UnTunes is not a swan song necessarily, but I did kind of want to get it out there, sounding good, with as many people on there as possible, because I will be undergoing a kind of online Ebola death. Leverage (talk) 16:21, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

That is sad news, Leverage. I hope you don't feel like you aren't appreciated. And I hope for uncyclopedia's sake that your professional life goes horribly wrong. - B@NZai k!tten BANZAI! (Meow?)B 16:31, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
Leverage, I would say that we're always behind you, but I am not sure about everyone, so I'll just say: know that I am always behind you. (So don't look back.) Anton (talk) 19:19, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

I'm sorry that my comment was made so rashly. You do work very hard and produce more high-quality stuff than anyone else here. I can't imagine how we will get our consistently funny battery of UnNews next year. I appreciate deeply all your charity concerning my song, and regret that I haven't manifested this nearly enough. I am very excited to hear the result of your efforts on this project, which is the only reason I wish you would hasten things and was under the slight naive misconception that that was reasonable to expect. And I admit that I "haven't been around for a good Vfh vote whoring." I stand fully in the wrong. --EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(get dtf) 17:25, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

If I had a mike I would join in but unfortunately I don't, anyways, people say the only reason I was accepted into my school choir in first year was because they needed someone to collect the books :) TheWikiMan026 MUN,UmP (Chatter) Norn Iron Flag.jpeg 13:32, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

No hard feelings EVery!

And regarding what others wrote, I don't feel unappreciated. Despite the small number of regular visitors, I think we do a decent job here of patting each other on the back with Vfh and awards and all that - I have always found this site to be a pretty pleasant place with lots of users giving positive feedback - and people like Aleister and MrN9000 are almost pathologically supportive.

And like I said, next year won't be a washout, but it's more likely I will write things when I really really feel the urge, rather than doing 15-20 UnNewses a month. The song remains in its state of limbo, so if any of you want to whore it to friends, go for it. I might end up doing the same, although it's a slightly weird proposition!
